Great Service from the Whitehaven Team.

I have recently had to move at short notice, the Whitehaven Grisdales team as always were super efficient, helpful and caring,
All the Whitehaven team are great but Daria and Beckie who helped me find a lovely new place to rent are worthy of special mention as they guided me to the property most suitable for my needs. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were always there to answer my many property questions and queries. Daria went out of her way to print off pages and documents of various properties for me; even though she was obviously very busy. The main thing is that I feel like a valued tenant with Grisdales, this is not always the case with some other letting agents. Thank you WH team.

Unprofessional and slow

Shocking customer service from the Lettings team at Whitehaven. Referred to potential tenants and enquiries as " noise ".Slow to send applications to the landlord. We found out we had been unsuccessful by seeing the homes had been let online. Poor communication on the progression of applications. No empathy and dismissive. Instead of saying there is nothing we could do to improve our application, perhaps seek feedback from the landlords. Feels like applicants are chosen by favouritism. Customers don't want to hear repeatedly "we are busy" as a reason for poor communications.

Updated 27 7 24. The generic , corporate response highlights the inability to accept blame and demonstrate a personable approach to service. Still being dismissive, still blaming being busy from the "noise" and not taking accountability for lack of communication. All of the one star reviews have a similar theme.

Grisdales is currently experiencing an unprecedented volume of applications, averaging more than twice the number in the same period last year. Despite such high demand, only one applicant can be selected for each property. We appreciate how frustrating it can be to miss out on a property you were interested in.

We feel it is important to clarify that the final decision on tenant selection rests entirely with the landlords. Our role is to present all applications, and the landlord chooses the tenant based on their personal preferences. There may not be anything you can do to improve your application, as the choice is subjective and not necessarily a reflection of your suitability.

It is disappointing to hear that you felt dismissed during your interactions with us. Our team strives to go above and beyond for our clients, and it is disheartening to know that in your view we did not meet that standard. While we aim to keep all applicants informed, sometimes the volume of applications affects our ability to do so promptly.

Disappointing Experience with Grisdales Estate Agents

My experience with Grisdales has been nothing short of disappointing. From the moment we moved into the property, we encountered numerous issues, ranging from maintenance problems to unfair treatment as tenants.

Despite our efforts to communicate and address concerns with the agency, we were met with ignorance and resistance. They showed little regard for our well-being and rights as tenants, and instead seemed intent on keeping our deposit at all costs.

The agency's lack of professionalism and empathy has left us feeling frustrated and disillusioned. It's clear that their priorities lie elsewhere, and they have no qualms about taking advantage of vulnerable tenants like ourselves.

I would caution anyone considering renting through Grisdales to proceed with extreme caution. Their actions speak volumes about their ethics and integrity, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

In summary, our experience with Grisdales has been a nightmare, and we are left feeling deeply disappointed and let down. It's a shame that agencies like this continue to operate with impunity, and I hope that our review serves as a warning to others.

Our repairs reporting system is accessible 24 hours a day and allows tenants to report and track the progress of any issues efficiently. We understand your frustration, but it's important to note that not all reported issues necessarily require the involvement of a qualified tradesperson. In some cases, simple solutions, which were offered by our team, were able to address the concern effectively. However, when repairs were genuinely needed and promptly reported, we feel we responded appropriately, whether by providing remedial advice or organising a qualified tradesperson.

We conduct regular inspections on all our homes to ensure the property is well-maintained, and we promptly communicate any concerns to tenants via inspection reports. These inspections also provide tenants with the opportunity to express any issues they may have. Following these visits, our property inspector offered several recommendations for best practices on ventilation.

We are sorry to hear that you felt unfairly treated and that we were unempathetic. We feel it's important to mention that some issues you experienced were due to user error, and we dispatched a qualified plumber multiple times to support you, although this is not typically expected of a landlord/agent. By extending your vacation date, we aimed to provide you with more time to secure alternative housing, easing the transition process, and reducing any unnecessary stress or pressure.

Regarding the retention of deposits, please be assured that this is only done for legitimate reasons, such as damage beyond fair wear and tear. We understand that this can be frustrating; however, transparency and fairness are fundamental values here at Grisdales, and we are committed to ensuring that all parties are treated equitably in these matters. For any disputes regarding the deposit, we advise utilising the DPS resolution services.

Shocking service. So we never got a chance to see what others would have offered and they never got a chance to have a look - so we lost money twice, undervalued and lied to. We couldn’t really pull out having agreed to the sale
