Once a great brand, now the materials are poor quality & no amount of spin can change this. Sizing? A nightmare. Charge £7 just to ‘process’ an online return. I’ve got some truly exquisite pieces from years ago but the style is not there. A lot of the clothes are childish bright tat. Expensive though.
No customer service online. I wanted to add to my collection this autumn but there’s not much to choose from as they’re churning out the same clothes every year. Each year, the quality is lower, prices higher. Stick-thin models wearing multiple layers to achieve a look that is No way representative of their customer base.
Years ago, I was a devotee of Boden but dropped them due to their lack of style.
The website? A nightmare to navigate.
Clothes launched on random dates depending on where in the world you are based.
DECLINING.
No amount of their ‘Gudrunistas’ Will keep this brand afloat if they don’t get their act together
I looked at the adverts for quite a long time before purchase and made the leap this year. I was so disappointed. I normally buy ethically and quality so it lasts, so didn't mind the prices. I buy natural fabrics so I can compost after worn out. I bought a pair of black harem pants to go with a lovely black top I made myself and hadn't had something to wear with it. I was very excited to start purchasing from Gudrun as the pictures of clothes are so colourful and planned to buy more items. The trousers cost £64 and were supposed to be organic cotton. I wore them on my birthday to go out for a meal. After about 2 hours I had to go home to take them off as the fabric was full of elasten, which makes me irritable. As I pulled it off it stretched alarmingly, I could see it was full of elastic. I had to get them off as I was climbing up the wall. I had imagined the elasten that was m mentioned was the waist band. The fabric was like a cheap pair of stretchy jogging bottoms and the material, very thin. I could go to Matalan for something like this. I'm left with an expensive item I can't wear. I noticed other posts mention the poor quality of the fabric.

I have recently placed two orders of sale items with another order on the way. I am very happy with the delivery time, service, quality and style of items I bought. Thank you 😊.
Having placed more orders since my review I now, sadly have to downgrade my opinion of the company. This is solely due to unhelpful customer service. I was sent the wrong item (cheaper too than the item I had paid for), no return label in the package. After much toing and froing I have given up and am left with an item I did not order, which I am unable to wear (XS) and am £44 out of pocket. There appears to be no respect for the customer or desire to retain customer base.

The decline in this company clearly ongoing - still they churn out the catalogues filled with the colours and hefty price tags- I know by know that in ordering I’m taking a huge risk which might well cost me in time and money navigating their appalling returns / collection arrangements. My daughter treated me at Christmas - yet again sizing wide of the mark and designs and material worse than ever .They are an arrogant bunch who continue to source the cheapest fabrics from all corners of the world - the substantial fabrics and attention to detail no longer part of the story and Customer Service as bad as it gets . On a positive note I began paying attention to their sketches intheir catalogues of basic pattern used….it triggered an interest in making my own quirky clothes at a fraction of the price . I found myself a sewing group so no longer need to take those risks on purchasing from this company who treat customers with contempt
Was very disappointed with the material quality - abd it was larger than just baggy. When returning it I discovered it has to go to Sweden at a cost of £11!
Bought dress for a wedding but sadly the fabric was so thin it tore on first putting it on above a zip.
Poorly constructed with paper thin cotton.
First clothes purchase and will not buy again. Cost £110.
I do not have the returns label and the customer service links on the website are not in operation so how do you return a faulty item?

Lovely colours and design. Poor quality.
I have been buying from the official site for several years for myself and for presents. I have always been very happy with the products and found the colours match the product. Some fabrics are thinner than others but you can see this on the pictures. I like the quality. The sizes in some dresses can come up large but they do in all nordic clothes. The delivery has always been good. I would recommend this company.
Was checking Gudrun's website just now as if it's become a habit of mine - I loved this brand ever since I discovered it in Stockholm, however, highly unlikely I will purchase anything again. Last year around this time, I placed an order for a jumper. It was sent to a local store that was closed/not open. I emailed the customer service soon after but did not get any reply. Life was busy with a young child and work so I didn't follow up until a few months later when I happened to be nearby their London store. So I went in and told them about my experience which is that I never received my order and had no communication nor reply to my emails. The store staff were nice and apologetic. They offered to phone their customer service team for me and the explanation given for having no response was that their customer service changed systems so may not have received the communication in the first place - it was shocking and unsatisfactory that this could be offered as a reason to excuse themselves because the customer service email was still listed on their front page. Also the customer service person on the phone was not apologetic at all and asked ME to contact UPS about the order, and she seems to think that's completely justified, especially when I already asked them to take back that order and process a refund for me. The store staff agreed that it shouldn't be me to trace the package after having had such a bad experience, and offered to chase this case and asked me for contact details. Since then I have never heard anything from them and I am very sad to have been let down in this way. I was a loyal customer for years. Just remembering all these and sharing them here now as it seems they still have not sorted out their services.
Received sale booklet. Start date 27th of December. All sold out when I checked online on the 23rd.
After reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned about placing an order but I have to say my experience was great. I initially ordered the wrong size boots and contacted them to cancel the order, they came back to me the same day and the money was back in my account a day later. The boots I ordered are lovely. They’re a beautiful soft leather, good quality and super comfy. I also had no issues at all with delivery they arrived in a few days. Would happily order again

Oh dear Gudrun - what has gone wrong with this company? I ordered two tops and was charged immediately. Looking at my account on the website, there is no indication of a likely shipping date and no communication from customer services about the likely delay. Things have gone very wrong - I’m sad because I’ve been a loyal customer for decades

I purchased an item from online, and when it arrived the fabric looked totally different (it was shiny metallic gold pattern which was showing as grey-white on the web site). I interacted politely with the customer service rep for many many emails. She told me that the material was as it was designed. My issue is that the product that I received looked nothing like the photo -- she said I could return it for a charge of $15US and wouldn't budge. This was quite an expensive purchase, and I feel that GS does not represent their products adequately, and should not be charging a fee when the item is not as it appears on the web site. Frustrated beyond belief and will not shop there again (I'm a regular customer)
EDITED November 23, 2023: I asked Canada customer service to provide me with contact information for someone at the company I could send my concerns to, and it's been a few days with no response. I cannot remember ever experiencing such poor customer service!
REPLY TO GUDRUN REPLY: The shiny gold is an *applied finish*, not part of the dying process! As for 'resolution' it was necessary for me to send the item back and pay the $15 "return fee" (not the shipping). I used a label sent by Gudrun Canada, and the address on it was for USA; I have not been able to track the item with the tracking number (it doesn't exist?!), and have not heard from Gudrun Sjödén about whether they've received it. I've unsubscribed from your newsletter and paper catalogue. As I said, this experience has taught me that it is not worth it to purchase clothes from Gudrun Sjödén online (I am about 12 hours drive from any store). VERY disappointing, to say the least.
UPDATE January 1, 2024: In spite of having proof of delivery of my return package to Gudrun Sjoden, my account STILL has not been refunded for the returned clothing. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY ONLINE!

I made an order of two items. The first item was delivered to a local store 3 weeks after order, but the parcel refused by the store and returned to the sender . It took multiple attempts over multiple days to call Customer Services who were not apologetic or empathic. This was a split order with part of the order still on its way after 4 weeks from the original purchase.
I tried to cancel the second item still on its way but was told I would need to go to the store and refuse the parcel then call Customer Services again 5 days later for a refund.
Sadly I will not be buying from Gudrun Sjödén again.

Customer service gone downhill badly, used to be my go-to for something different and of good quality but because of recent bad experiences with communication and deliveries will avoid in future.
Ridiculous reply from Gudrun Sjoden suggesting I contact customer service - the whole point of my review was the bad service from their customer service. Just goes to show they pay no attention to customers!

Have been loyal customer for years, and their older clothes were well made and have lasted well. In the last two years the quality has really gone down. Fabrics are cheap and often synthetic, designs are poorly thought out and the clothes lose their shape very quickly. My latest purchase was a velour jacket, which turned out to be very poor quality fabric, an unwearable design that made me look fifty pounds larger (!) and shoddy construction. Due to the cost and the difficulty of returning these clothes I will not buy from GS again. Such a shame, as they used to be so good.
I did have a pair of linen pants where the stitching was the fabric just ripped. And I baby my gudruns. They were a few months old. But… I sent Gudrun pictures and they immediately refunded. We’ll done! I am Leary now about the linen. But I love their sweaters. Still buy them.

I love the look of Gudrun Sjoden clothing but the quality is substandard. I've bought lots of dresses and every single one has developed a problem of some kind shortly after purchase. Holes have appeared in some - one dress actually arrived with a hole in it. I've stitched them up on the printed dresses, but still, they weren't cheap and this shouldn't happen. With a plain orange dress, after the first wash, a white patch developed on the front that was so visible that the dress had to be binned. If clothes have to be sent to landfill after a couple of wears they aren't green or sustainable as the website claims. Most of the dresses lost their shape after washing too. I am very careful with my clothes and I wash them at 30 degrees, always following instructions. I haven't had this problem with any other brand of clothing. I am so disappointed. Gudren Sjoden have now lost my custom.

fab clothes and home furnishings . all sorts of styles to chose from tradional kurtas with embroidery are my bag have bought for 20- years
I recently bought 2 pairs of what were described as leggings. The purple leggings are actually navy, and both pairs are no more than footless tights, and cannot be worn with a short top. At their prices I expected better and will not be buying from Gudrun Sjoden again.
