Mark helped me with buying a Vintage Gibson Mandolin. He is very professional, patient and knowledgeable. He gave me the information needed to make up my mind to buy. I wish GC had more employees like him.

Ordering was easy and the gentleman that took my order was someone I’d love to deal with again. My issue is when you get an email that says your product is arriving tomorrow which I took a screenshot, then later you check tracking and it says like 4 days later is expected . That’s enough to make a person decide on whether to buy again or not .

Placed a pickup order for an item because the website explicitly stated i would be able to pickup today by 3pm. I place the order, drive to the store, and then find out the item is not available in store and I must wait 5 business days before pickup. Not great.

Not sure why they are still in business. Went to Highland Park first. Drum room was self-service. No sales help. No check-out counter. Then went to Arlington Heights. I could hear someone playing drums from the parking lot. No exaggeration. I can see why HP went self serve. AH should be next. Drum room was a mess. No door on the cymbal room. Hard to check out cymbals when the floor model drums are all being played-LOUDLY. I tried to get the sales rep's attention but he was too busy "hanging out" with a regular. Paid no attention to me. I said I'd like to check out a ride cymbal. He said these guys were here before me, so I'd have to wait. I said I am here to spend money and these guys are here just making noise. He shrugged his shoulders. Guess they did not want my $400.00. I'm headed to Dugan's with real musicians. The dad bands go to Guitar Center.

So this is why I gave you guys three stars instead of five….. we spend a lot of money with you guys!!!! I literally ordered an Akai pro mpc live 3 a few days ago.. protection plan everything so you know how much that cost… my issue is with your shipping!!!! I have never had as horrible shipping options as you guys offer or don’t offer in this case!!!!! I wanted to pay for express shipping on this item like I have. I’m just about every other item because I don’t wanna wait 5 to 7 days on regular package shipping. That’s ridiculous in my opinion.!! so I always pay the extra for express shipping… well in this case, I was told the item was at the store and that was the reason I couldn’t get express shipping because my Local store would be calling me to pick it up probably within the next few hours or within the next day…. Well that didn’t happen and called back to see what the deal was and my store doesn’t have any in stock. It was going to be this Tuesday before my package shows up and I ordered it on Wednesday.!!!!! and there’s nothing no one can do because Guitar Center doesn’t offer express shipping on this particular item but they do on everything else for some reason??????!!!! I love the customer service here. I love the local people at my Guitar Center. You guys try to take care of me the best you can and you guys try to make things right but this is not the first time I’ve had issues with your shipping !!! you guys almost lost our business last time and this may be the last straw this time!! we have a gear card with you guys and I can get approved at Sweetwater , Zzounds, KRAFT, and never have any shipping issues.. I just don’t understand you guys policies on your shipping!!!!! and not to mention the fact for some reason on certain orders, I was told the packages don’t move on the weekend. My package has been sitting 400 miles away from me for two days. It hasn’t moved because Guitar Center doesn’t move packages unless they’re expressed delivery on the weekends.!!!! I have never heard of such BS in my life!!!! is this 1955???? when you’re spending the kind of money I spend on things there should be no problem with shipping and especially if I want to pay for extra shipping and you guys can’t even offer that!!! and like I said the killer is you guys won’t move a package on the weekends for whatever reason that is!!!! so this will be my last time ordering anything online with you guys ever!!!!! if it’s not in my Local store and I can’t pick it up right then and there and from what I understand your stores don’t keep most of the equipment for whatever reason that is it’s all at the distribution center, which makes no sense again?????? that you don’t keep your store stocked with merchandise?????? that everyone has to go through a distribution center to get what they want?????? all of the local stores have displays but nothing in the back!!! very few items in the store, except for bags and used gear and demo gear…. Unless it’s a guitar.!!!! when it comes to the pianos mpc‘s high-end DJ equipment none of that stuff in store???!!!! so we’re going to be moving our business our online business somewhere else after this order!!! I love you guys as far as in person in service store and the customer service but when I can’t even get express shipping and want to pay for it and then you guys tell me you don’t move packages on the weekend because I didn’t even have the chance to pay for express shipping so I’m just supposed to sit back and be OK with that?????????!!! I’m not sure what kind of people you guys deal with to think that’s OK but not me!! so just be warned and make sure you check the shipping on your items with Guitar Center before you order anything online!!!

I ordered a "used" Fender Showman 4x12 cabinet. I've looking for one for 15 years to put under my Fender Twin. Found one that was made in 2001 at Guitar Center in Tacoma (I'm in Indianapolis), took a chance and ordered it. There must have been some dust on the pictures or something because when it arrived it looked brand new, not a mark on it. Called the store to thank them, warehouse manager was great. I could not be happier with the purchase.

I love Guitar Center and it sister company Musicains Friend. Unfortunately the Guitar Center in Lawrenceville Georgia sucks.
My wife and I went in because I was looking to buy a new amp. The staff stood around talking to each other.
I played around on a few amps. The staff stood around and talked to each other. I finally go ask one of the staff for some help, it was time for his lunch break.
I say all that to say this Guitar Center lost a purchase on not only The Boss Katana Artist I was planning on purchasing, but also the Schecter guitar I left leaning on the amp.
Well I purchased the amp through Musicians Friend because no one in that store deserved the sale.
This store needs ro get the game together because this isn't the first time they have lost my sale. As of right now, I don't see a reason to go back to this location again.

I went in months ago with curiosity about owning a Squier Classic Vibes Bass VI. I met Noah and after asking me a few questions about the style of music I play he pointed me in the direction of Ibanez’s SRC6MS, a bass 6 that is a way better fit for me that I didn’t know existed. Great dude, very knowledgeable, very helpful.

Someone deleted this review, but I will keep putting it back up:
I just bought the Alvarez AG60CE back in January, through Guitar Center, who told me that since I didn't buy their warranty for this brand new guitar, to basically "Go pound Sand", and that I had to go to the only Alvarez distributor in the country, in St. Louis to have it fixed
The problem is, Alvarez is a shitty Guitar, banking on big names like LR Baggs to sell their garbage.
The L.R. Baggs electronics were completely shot on this guitar... Even the tuner didn't work. They said they would fix it for me, but I had to pay the $160.01 to ship it to them, first.
That's right. Alvarez built me a defective guitar, then made me pay an additional 40% of the price of the guitar to fix their own mistake.
If anyone really wants an Alvarez guitar, I highly recommend buying a used one.
I wonder how long L.R. Baggs is willing to take a hit in allowing the Alvarez brand to cost them money before pulling out themselves.
