Drew Hartman made my buying experience great. He listened to what I inquired about. He was professional and easy to talk to. His product knowledge was on par with what I was looking for. He treated me like an old friend....and I purchased the item.

Salesman Jason at Guitar Center in Hialeah-794 was outstanding. He was totally helpful & cooperative with my purchase. Did everything to make sure I was able to get the piece of equipment I desired at a reasonable price. Exceeded expectations for a Salesman at Guitar Center. Would Shop there again thanks to my experience today

Very frustrated! Signed my son up for guitar lessons for the 2nd time. First time was great. 2nd time not so much! Need better communication and follow-ups from the lesson coordinator. I canceled the lesson due to it. After the cancellation, I was still being charged for the monthly subscription. Currently waiting for my refund. Hopefully, I’m off the system and will not be charged again. Not sure why. Need to do a better job!

Worst customer service period! Dont buy here. Youve been warned! They sent me the wrong 50lb boxes and i had to wait a month to be refunded. This place is a complete joke! Bankrupycy is looming for them. Wonder why? Dont even think of buying from guitar center.

I ordered an electronic drum set from Guitar Center on December 24 after being told it was in stock at a local store.
After payment was taken, I received an email saying it was NOT actually in stock. When I contacted customer service to cancel, they refused to issue a refund and said the order was “already shipping,” even though it’s being shipped to a store and won’t arrive until January 5.
A manager told me there was “nothing they can do” and that this is just how Guitar Center operates.
Posting this so others are aware before ordering.

I should have ordered from Amazon. I know that Guitar Center itself isn't at fault, but because I chose to support a smaller business, I am the one who doesn't have a Christmas Gift for my daughter on Christmas morning. GC claims the shipper picked up the item but nothing ever changed as the days ticked closer to the holiday. When I called I asked Guitar Center support if they could send me a replacement and if the other item eventually showed up it could be returned. They said they couldn't do this. Unfortunately Amazon can handle stuff like this and get items replaced without having to worry about $200 not being in their pockets for a week. Huge disappointment.

I ordered a new Line 6 Helix Stadium XL. Paid extra for shipping. The item was never delivered. Guitar Center said without the item they can't refund me. Does anyone think they are sincere? look at the response. We will look into it. I’ve already called. You dropped the ball. I ordered, I paid. No product.

I ordered online so I can quickly pick up the items. I chose a specific store because the items were in stock.
3.5 hours later I’m at the store. Order is not ready. I pick up the items off the shelf but I was told that it can’t be done that way.
I made it clear that I can’t return to the store until next week.
5 hours later and my order has not been “picked”
Sorry. Just cancel my order.

I don't always have the best experience in-store....it really depends on the location and who is working that day. However, I purchase all my gear from a GC Pro rep and have had great results. You just have to make sure the in-store rep knows where your order is!

The associate was very helpful in finding me a product that they may only have online. The service to checkout was quick and I got
Everything I needed for my bass guitar.

I ordered a ditto looper almost a year ago which was on back order. I have made many calls over the past year only to have the dates for arrival get extended repeatedly. The last time I called the rep blamed it on ditto saying that they were in charge of back orders but at the time you were selling them online that were not back ordered but at a higher price. I have bought other items online from you and I found them to be very satisfactory in price and quality but in this instance I felt slighted. Anyway I was finally able to let it go but reviewing last year’s elfster list reminded me. I won’t hold you to your obligation but I’m not the type to forget all the BS given to me by your reps and I would caution everyone not to buy something that is on back order status.

So, I purchased a NEW Kurzweil k-2700 and have been waiting for it for several weeks. I got an email today saying it has arrived. I got very excited and looked forward to getting it home and hooking it up. After unboxing the NEW keyboard, I was shocked to see tape on it saying’”spare, return me!, ribbon controller does not work, and do not use. Obviously it isn’t new and had issues and had been sent back either for repairs or not. I didn’t plug it in and check. I was so pissed. Between the lack of communication from the sales team, to the now obvious “trying to pass a used refurbishment k-2700 off as new. I now have to return it.
After talking to the guy we bought it from, it now appears I’ll have to wait even more time to receive a NEW keyboard opposed to a refurbished one. Way to try and pull a fast one Guitar center. After this is fixed and I get my NEW keyboard, I’ll never walk in to or purchase anything from guitar center again.

I was misled, pressured, and then told to leave the store in front of my 3-year-old.
I asked for a beginner drum kit in the $400–$500 range. The salesperson told me nothing existed in that price range unless I was willing to spend nearly $1,000. I stepped aside, checked the Guitar Center website, and found the exact product I was looking for in a matter of minutes.
When I returned and showed him the listing, he changed his story, said the store didn’t have it, and began insisting that he needed to order it so he could get the commission. After being misled once, I told him I would order it myself. He didn’t like that and pushed again. When I refused, he became hostile and told me to leave the store.
This happened while I had my 3-year-old standing with me.
This was an unprofessional and unacceptable situation, and it reflects extremely poorly on the store’s management and oversight.

Failure of a core competency...online order on Dec. 5th.
NO communication, meanwhile a private seller in Tuscon has delivered a larger item ordered the same day in December.
Address your problem while you still have a business, 2026 is upon us.
I do not want to witness your failure.

I normally shop with Sweetwater, an incredible company with amazing customer service, but the item I needed was out of stock and I was on a tight deadline. So I decided to order from Guitar Center’s website instead. Big mistake.
Within a few hours of ordering, I asked customer service if it was possible to switch my order from delivery to store pickup after noticing the item was now in stock at my local shop. I knew this might not be possible, but it never hurts to ask. They told me yes, and that the way to do this was to cancel my original order and place a new pickup order. That process went smoothly: I received a cancellation confirmation email, and I picked up the item at the store without any issues.
Then, four days later, I received an abrupt cold email, without a single apology, informing me that the cancelled order was shipping anyway, they cannot intercept it, they have no tracking record, and to return it or have them manually charge me if I wanted to keep it, which felt tone deaf considering the situation was entirely caused by their mistake and I cancelled the order for a reason. There was no attempt to be apologetic or accommodating with the return process but they didn’t miss a chance to turn their error into an extra sale.
This was such a disappointing experience compared to what I’m used to with their competitor. I don’t feel entitled to keep an item sent by mistake, nor do I want to… even if the FTC says I can keep it. I also don’t believe a customer should be held responsible for a company’s operational failure. Be honest upfront if something can’t be cancelled, have reliable processes in place, and when things do go wrong, offer to have the shipping carrier pick up the item at no hassle or cost to the customer. It was astonishing how many excuses I received for them to avoid sending the carrier to pick up the package (too large for my vehicle) and return it. The moment I brought up the FTC law (keeping unordered merchandise,) pickup was scheduled. Lesson learned. I’ll stick to Sweetwater.

I am so disappointed in Guitar Center. I would never buy another guitar from them. I purchased an expensive used guitar on line and talked with a salesman at the store who assured me the guitar was in excellent condition and that it came with a case. They shipped this expensive guitar across the united State in bubble wrap . NO CASE

Went to Guitar Center in Plymouth Meeting, PA yesterday to buy my son a new guitar. I know nothing about guitars but the GC employee Jay was super patient and extremely helpful. He answered all of our questions and provided helpful suggestions, tips, etc. Awesome experience.

It doesn’t matter which Guitar Center I go to in Las Vegas I get all the help I need. All the employees are super helpful. They need to update their computers for more efficiency. The employees there are overworked and underpaid I’m sure. I’ve purchased three different acoustic guitars brought them home and realized after three days of playing that they were not the Guitar for me. The first was a parlor size….. the second was a a concert size…. All this to realize that I have to have a dreadnought for power volume punch Finger picking blues and hardcore strumming: finally landed on the affordable Martin D10e. I love Guitar Center! It can be a circus for sure with the entire city beating drums, electric and acoustic guitars. But where else can you have so much freedom to do this?
