I bought a new guitar and traded one in…

I bought a new guitar and traded one in part exchange.
I do not live near a GuitarGuitar shop, so communication was by telephone and email.
I had some concerns about packaging and transportation of the instruments, but I needn't have worried. The packaging for my trade-in guitar arrived by DPD courier the day after I made the order and my new guitar arrived in perfect condition in substantial packaging. The whole process was completed within a week.
The DPD courier arrived on time on each occasion and he was courteous and helpful.
The GuitarGuitar people that I communicated with were always helpful, friendly and polite.
The GuitarGuitar way of doing things is a model for the way that things should be done. I hope to be able to deal with them in the future.

Always promising and able to order things I have looked for.

Best store (and only one so far I've visited and shopped at). Recently I had traded it off for a gift card for how much it was worth. So I used that to pay a deposit for a new guitar and a double gig bag for both that guitar and another one. Also I had the strings and setup on the new one done for free. I'm not very good with names so I'll thank the people both weeks I came in for the help. I'll be picking up an amp there soon; Orange.

Conned out of £400 plus

Put £400 plus deposit down on an expensive Taylor guitar , was disappointed in that guitar and didn’t buy it . Swapped a much cheaper guitar for a Yamaha 12 string and a wee Lowden as a “straight swap “ no deposit back . Called customer service who said that my deposit for the first guitar automatically went on to the second , not so . Crooks. It wasn’t part of the deal .

D’addario earplugs £45 in the bin :(

£45 in the bin :(
D’addario earplugs for gigs and rehearsal.
I play music since 8, I am 47 now. Tried various earplugs. This as worth £5 not £45
So so disappointed

Hi Francesca,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I’m really sorry to hear that the D’Addario earplugs haven’t met your expectations - especially given your many years of playing live.

We completely understand that hearing protection is a very personal thing. Fit, comfort and attenuation can feel very different from player to player, and what works well for some musicians doesn’t always suit others.

Just to clarify, Trustpilot reviews are intended to reflect the service and experience provided by guitarguitar as a retailer. From your comments, it sounds like your disappointment relates specifically to the performance of the product itself rather than the service you received from us.

If there’s anything about your experience with guitarguitar that we can look into or improve, I’d really welcome the opportunity to help. And if you feel the review doesn’t reflect your experience with us directly, we’d appreciate you considering updating it accordingly.

If you’d like advice on alternative hearing protection options that may be a better fit, I’d be more than happy to assist - you can reach me directly on adampomphrett@guitarguitar.co.uk

Thanks,

Only review I’ve made in my life

No matter how disgruntled I’ve felt in life I’ve never left a review anywhere but this place has messed me about and pissed me off, ordered a guitar and never received any tracking from DPD so the guitar arrived at my house unannounced, which would be fine if it wasn’t such an expensive item because I would prefer myself or someone to be home to know it’s been delivered safe,

the guitar was damaged when it arrived so I sent it back, the guitar arrived in a thin gig bag (that’s not in them it’s just the bag that comes with it) but it was then in 2 cardboard boxes with no protection with polystyrene or packing peanuts to take any kind of beating whilst travelling with DPD so it was just getting banged and shook about and for a guitar just shy of a grand you’d expect some love and care in the packaging but there is literally 0 care at all,

got an email saying they received it on a Friday so I left it from there, heard nothing for about a week and reached out myself to where they told me my return hard been processed the day before, but there was no email or update of this ?

And then I was told that day that a replacement was being sent later that day and I should receive a tracking number when it’s sent, no tracking number came,

so I reached out again the next day for an update for them to change their tune and tell me the guitar is now being dispatched that day and I should receive it on or before Monday, it was slightly annoying but I could deal with it,

but later that same day I get an email telling me that the guitar they were sending me failed QC check and it’s no longer shipping to me, but not only that, they now have no more of those guitars and I have to wait for another batch to arrive, like what ? Are the guitars not QC checked when they arrive ? Are they only checked when they’re about to be sent to someone who’s already bought it ?

So poor from start to finish. I reached back out to the guy who emailed me confessing my frustration and I received no reply and it was definitely long enough for a reply from someone who reached out to me first.

The next day delivery is an attractive thing, but I’ve had to wait an entire week just to get lied to twice about my order being sound and it being sent the day I enquire about it, for them to carry out a QC check and failing when sending it out rather than when it arrived so it just made the 2 guys who told me that look like jokers when they’re probably not and god knows how long I’m gunna have to wait now, given my only experience with these guys I ain’t hopeful. I usually go with Thomann for my equipment but thought I’d give these guys a try, and for my first and only experience with them so far I ain’t pleased at all

Obviously still yet to receive my guitar

Edit: I did have a reply in my emails, a tracking label had been printed for my order before the QC check was done, so employees assumed all was good and told me so, the first time they said it would be shipped, they experienced a failed collection for the guitar (if it didn’t fail would the guitar have been sent without a QC check?) and then they decided to QC check the guitar the next day and didn’t inform the employees about it till later that day, same day they told me it would be shipped again and arrive by Monday. Not trying to point fingers and push blames as I know work is work and shit happens, but again this is my first experience with Guitarguitar so I don’t know what to say.

A brother is just frustrated and wants my guitar that I had for a minute before sending it back and now having to wait weeks for after having my emotions toyed with, amazing times honestly

For a big chain, these guys make buying a guitar a very personal experience. I plague them with questions and, to a man, everyone goes out if their way to help. Prices are keen and the range outstanding. I got a terrific LSL Saticoy...probably the best instrument I've owned!

Great service from guitarguitar!

Recently bought a second hand Charvel online, with a Schecter to be traded in as a part-ex. Everything was sorted out very quickly and I was kept up to date as to how everything was progressing with the trade in, as this needed to be collected and assessed. Very happy with both the Charvel and the price I was given for the trade-in. Not the first time I have bought equipment from guitarguitar, excellent service every time!

They sold me a broken guitar!

I spent a lot of money on an acoustic guitar from guitar guitar online.
Upon opening the box I noticed the jack input had literally fallen out of the hole. I rang them up and was told that they wouldn’t fix it under warranty as the part was removable.
I explained it was fresh out of the box and should have been in good working order. They were very reluctant to take the guitar back and refused to pay for the postage. I ended up having to take the guitar to a different place to get fixed.
The customer service I received was just awful and I felt like the company was blaming me for buying the faulty item. After doing some legal digging I was told that I had a case to take them to court. As I had to pay to get the guitar fixed myself and it was now mended, I just put it down to experience.
Do not buy anything from this shoddy company as they will not honour the warranty.
Hope this review helps anyone that is thinking of buying from them to stay well clear.

These guys are the place to buy and…

These guys are the place to buy and sell,

Exceptional customer service, they do exactly what they say they will do and pay the price offered no messing, obviously accounting for the condition of what your selling.

Special mention to Stuart, personally handled my sale to them which made it a personal service.

Guitars come and go in life as we know,, and these guys will always have my custom.

Cheers guys.

Trade In and Purchase New Guitar

I decided to trade in my old Fender Strat for an updated model. The process was very straightforward, I uploaded photos was quickly given a price which was fair and I accepted. It couldn't have been easier: box sent, guitar packed, inspected on receipt straight away, next day new guitar arrived. All stages by next day delivery. Stuart was excellent in guiding me through the process, changing the guitar I initially paid a deposit on for a different one. Emails were responded to within a short timescale. Guitarguitar highly recommended.

Recommended 100%

I have bought a number of guitars form Newcastle store and online from Edinburgh shop. Service and guitars spot on, Friendly very helpful folk who know their stuff. Also traded in. Like the nearby Richer Sounds (Hifi shops scoring 100% from me)Guitar Guitar is an employee owned business, so you can buy local, buy to support local but with advantage of a national business.

I have been a customer with Guitar…

I have been a customer with Guitar Guitar UK for the past few years I have bought quite a few guitars from them I just recently purchased an ex demo Sigma SDM 10E crossroads series dreadnought acoustic with spruce top solid mahogany body LR baggs pickup and grover nickel open tuners I have several acoustics but I had heard a lot about the Sigma guitars and I also read a few of the forums on those particular models I just fancied something different to play with I was blown away by the tone of this Sigma and they are absolutely amazing nice and loud for fingerpicking and playing rhythm they have good sustain and the action also feels really comfortable I have been playing it every day since I bought it and it is also true what a lot of other guitar players say about them they definitely sound great for the price they are built really well too I already have a Gibson Montana J45 standard I purchased last June a Taylor GTe urban ash a Taylor 117e Grand Pacific a Fender California series 12 string acoustic and my Fender performer Statocaster My 21 year old daughter also loves her new Squier classic vibe 50s sunburst I bought her for Christmas Anyway I really love this new Sigma It is definitely a keeper I value it as much as my other acoustics well worth the £849 I think this one came from the Epsom store the guitar also looks absolutely fine cosmetically for an ex demo not even a thumbprint on it when I recieved It really lovely guitar I am extremely pleased with Guitar Guitar UK and the above and beyond service that you have given me over the past few years I also enjoy the long chats online with your fantastic staff I have been eyeing up those Martin D28 acoustics too but I think I may have to save for a little bit longer especially after buying the J45 last year and the Sigma recently as I have those two on V12 finance and I also need to bump up my savings after buying three of my other guitars cash I only just heard a Martin D28 being played recently and I really loved the tone I probably could have bought one by now If I had heard it a few months ago but I wasn't thinking about Martin's back then LOL and it would be great to have one sitting beside my J45 I will get one some time in the future need to save hard though Anyway Thanks Guitar Guitar UK Andrew Glasgow 🥰🥰
