Appalling!!! Do not go near the Bedford Branch.
I tried selling my property through them, they sold me the world, said they have many clients for me. Even planned an open house 2 weeks after the contract was signed. Lone behold, the open house was cancelled on the day. I got ghosted by the team.
Had an Agent called Tom, he used to arrange visits and viewings but never turn up!
I was told that 'no one wants to live in your area'. They advertised my house incorrectly by putting the wrong area and type of house.
I did 2 formal complaints, both times they completely ignored it.
Now the contracts over, they are refusing to collect the For Sale sign!!
For your own sanity, please dont use Haart Bedford.

Absolutely disgraceful service from…
Absolutely disgraceful service from haart Estate and Lettings Agents Bedford. It has been over 6 weeks since my tenancy ended at 45 Pendennis Road. Despite receiving written confirmation on 28th April that my deposit of £1,442.30 was processed, the funds have still not arrived. They are now ignoring my emails and a Formal Complaint. Now I'm being forced to escalate the matter to the Property Ombudsman and the TDS. Avoid this agency if you want to see your money back.
Terrible lack of communication skills…
Terrible lack of communication skills and basic understanding of the TDS that they use to hold deposits. Holding a deposit unlawfully.
Avoid them, unless you want to experience them avoiding your emails and calls for weeks.
Having an absolute nightmare with these…
Having an absolute nightmare with these people right now! They never return calls as promised, they hold onto rent owed to you for absolutely NO reason and cant give a reason other than sorry! Well sorry doesnt cut it. We asked them to get a quotation for a repair to which they sent someone to the property on 21st October 2025 no further correspondence to get the job done for our Tennant. We are now in contact directly with the Tennant and getting things done. I have told them we no longer want to deal with them they are a shambles! They want to charge us 6 weeks rent for us to get out of the contract I dont think so! They are the ones who have broken the contract with their disgraceful lack of professionalism and service so off to The Property Ombudsmen we go!
A lovely chat
I had a lovely chat with Tom Keeling at a coffee shop and I felt he had a lot of market knowledge within the Bedford area, and will definitely be getting in contact in the near future.
Poor letting service 0/10
Poor letting service , communication is very poor you are left chasing them. The property will be in Bedford but some aspects are managed in Northampton or Milton Keynes by random people.
Starts of well , but the service is disappointing.
Advice to any landlords , with haart you will end up organising your own gas and electric checks. If haart do it for you their prices are double. Even if you give them tradesmen to use they just remind you to organise yourself. The worst part is that is when you have the fully managed service.
My tenants have complain several times to the point where when the tenants leave I will move business to another letting agent.
Communication in the Bedford branch is…
Communication in the Bedford branch is definitely an issue! Would never use again.
A Let-Down After Initial Promise
A Let-Down After Initial Promise
I used this agency to let out multiple properties over a two-year period, and unfortunately, the experience declined to the point where I had no choice but to move on.
For a company of this size, the lack of structure is unacceptable. Properties in Bedford are managed by teams based in Milton Keynes or Northampton, meaning you rarely speak to the same person twice — a fragmented and inefficient system that causes more problems than it solves.
Even more disappointing is the fact that basic tasks included in their full management service were consistently difficult to get actioned. Requests were often treated as though they were favours, not contractual obligations.
Initial onboarding was smooth, but once they secured my business, the standard of service dropped significantly. Professionalism, accountability, and consistency were lacking throughout — all critical qualities in a property management company, and all noticeably absent here.
At least one member of House Sales team is good
Estate Agents are mostly unimpressive - not really the fault of the staff, who are generally undertrained and inexperienced - that's the fault of company directors.
Elle Dunne - formerly Bedford office and now St Neots office - handled my recent house sale and she was a lot more professional and experienced than the usual child worker found in most estate agents offices.

I would like to say many thanks to Ella Boddington at the Bedford branch for helping in the sale of the flat.
It was a lengthy process but Ella did her upmost to keep things moving and provided me with updates on any developments that occurred.

Unlawful practices from this business.
Do not recommend.
I am going to take legal action
I am going to take legal action, after three months I vacated the property, they are not releasing my deposit. Avoid this agency at any cost; they are unresponsive and unstructured and scam.
Haart
Haart mistakenly requested two identical payments from my account when it should have only been one which left the one payment pending in my account, when requested to cancel the request so that the funds could be released from pending, Haart were confused on how to cancel their request, however they did say eventually the request had been cancelled but on contacting my bank they said they’ve request was still pending. The issue still hasn’t been resolved and the funds are still pending whilst Haart are ignoring my emails and calls.

Extremely Disappointing Service and Unfair Practices
I’ve been with Haart for over a decade, but my experience in recent years has been extremely disappointing, culminating in my decision to escalate a formal complaint and refer the matter to the Property Ombudsman.
First, their service has deteriorated significantly. My tenants, frustrated by delays and poor communication from Haart, have completely bypassed them since early 2023, contacting me directly for maintenance and queries. This has placed the burden of property management back on me, which defeats the purpose of having a letting agent in the first place.
Second, Haart has unilaterally increased fees and changed their Terms of Business without my consent. Most recently, they implemented a 0.5% fee increase, which I was never notified about despite their claims to have sent an email. Even more concerning is their addition of a "severance fee" (equivalent to six weeks’ rent plus VAT) if I want to terminate my contract while my tenants remain in place. This fee wasn’t in my original agreement, and they are relying on a clause that allows them to amend terms at their discretion. Such practices feel incredibly unfair and exploitative.
Despite their assurances that they are working to improve service quality by hiring new staff and addressing backlogs, I’ve seen no improvement. The lack of transparency, poor communication, and repeated service failures have left both myself and my tenants completely disillusioned.
After over a decade of working together, I’m left feeling let down, frustrated, and financially burdened by Haart’s actions. As a result, I’ve referred this matter to the Property Ombudsman to seek a fair resolution.
I would strongly advise other landlords to carefully consider these issues before entrusting their property to Haart.
What a waste of time Haart were for me…
What a waste of time Haart were for me .......... They sent me several identical letters implying that my property had been up for sale for a long time when it had only been up for a couple of weeks and suggesting that i called them for a better service etc ...... so on 7/6/24 i called them and spoke to JS / N who promised to do a drive by of my house in a day or 2 and get back to me with an idea of value/s and what their best fees would be ....... but ive still heard nothing from them ....... Is this the best that Haart can do for me and an indication of what efforts they would make if i went up for sale with or did a letting with them ?? ....
Bedford's Dream Team
I would just like to say a huge THANK YOU!! to the Haarts Bedford Team especially Jovan Sutovic and Charlotte Grant!! I called the branch just before closing and to my surprise Jovan picked up the call and was prepared to wait for me although they were technically closed. Jovan was very professional and humble as I found out later he was also the Manager. He quickly arranged a viewing for the next day with Charlotte. I found Charlotte to be a very polite, professional and knowledgeable, who carefully explained the process. Once I had agreed, Charlotte made my move so effortless and provided all the help and support for me to move in within 2 weeks. All this was just after Christmas Bank Holiday!! For me they are a Dream Team!! I hope this is relayed to the Haarts Head Office. Keep up the good work in helping people!! Louis

We recently sold our house, in Bedford, Alex who is charming, gave us a valuation, once on the market Sean was our contact who is very helpful and knowledgeable and friendly, but Ella is the real star
We were coming up against so many problems with the lawyer, who had to take sick leave just after Christmas, which was right towards the end of our sale, and we could not reach anyone else in the law firm, that's were Ella came in. We never met her, but she was super friendly helpful, always called back, got to the right person and really got things done. The day we were moving, she was supposed to be off, but bless her she went into work to make sure we had no more problems, which of course we did , and she got the last hurdle sorted for us
