Absolutely shocking
Absolutely shocking company we bought our house through haart and will never go through them again. Jamie and Alex are awful, they are liars and unprofessional, Jamie is always in a meeting and both would tell us they’d call back and never would. We would constantly have to chase for updates and were even fed made up stories to keep us off their backs. The whole purchase was dragged out for months and to top it off we get a call from them a month in to living in our new property asking if we were selling and to consider them if we where! We would have dropped out of the sale if we didn’t have our hearts set on this house due to all the stress they caused. Never again!
My experience with Haart Ipswich
My experience with Haart Ipswich has been disappointing at best.
The team’s behaviour was unprofessional and, at times, borderline bullying. I informed Haart that I wished to come off the market during my two-week cooling-off period. When I did this, Matthew (who was full of charm during the valuation) reacted immaturely and defensively. He later called to tell me I couldn’t withdraw because of a clause in the contract that allegedly waived the cooling-off period if signed in store — despite me being clearly told at the point of signing that I did have a two-week cooling-off period.
After several back-and-forth conversations, I escalated the issue to the area manager. I reluctantly agreed to reduce the contract term purely because I wanted my property sold and wanted the situation resolved.
I then reduced the asking price to help generate interest, but the service remained poor. They managed to secure only two viewings, both of which were handled badly. On the first, Ashley arrived 30 minutes early with the potential buyer, having never been to my property before — meaning she was effectively viewing it for the first time alongside the buyer. On the second viewing, Alex arrived late and missed it entirely, leaving me to show the buyer around myself.
There was a potential third viewing, but I needed to rearrange the time. I provided Haart with several alternative slots. After hearing nothing for four days, I contacted them to check the message had even been passed on. I received a vague response from Ashley, which made it clear the matter hadn’t been chased at all.
Upon leaving Haart, I was provided with a list of 12 people who had apparently been “introduced” to my property. Given that I was only aware of three of these, and only two actual viewings ever took place, I’m left questioning what arrangements — if any — were made for the other nine. One can’t help but wonder whether, had those introductions been handled properly, my property might have sold by now.
I could list many more examples of how this company failed to meet even basic expectations. Overall, they have proven themselves to be completely ineffective and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone and would never use them again — either as a seller or a buyer.
Avoid.
Shocking unprofessional behaviour.
My property has been on market with another agent for 6 days. I've already had 4 viewings. This afternoon I got a call from Haart Ipswich. The young woman addressed me by my first name and asked if I still owned the property. I haven't lived there for over 3 years as the house has been rented out to a tenant. She was very clear that she wanted me to switch to them. I asked her how she had got my name and phone number. She told me that they had been given my full details by Rightmove. That is a blatant lie. Rightmove do not have my details. I contacted my agent as I thought he'd want to know what unprofessional behaviour was going on. He wasn't in the least surprised as Haarts are notorious for doing this on a regular basis.
Shocking behaviour.

Made appointment for viewing and nobody turned up.Obviously being 6 on a Friday just couldn't be bothered to turn up not even having the decency to let us know.Went into office the next day to complain and was entered into his diary as cancelled which was news to me.An all round extremely incompetent estate agents
No Accountability
I have both of my properties rented out through Haart IPSWICH Agency. Despite one of the property being vacant for 45 days, it wasn't until I had new tenants ready to move that the Haart Agency in Ipswich contacted me on the last day regarding the EICR certificate. They did not provide any prior notice while the property was unoccupied for that duration. Due to their carelessness, I had to delay the rental process by one week, which resulted in one week of council tax payments and one week of rental loss.
I cannot stress enough how poor and…
I cannot stress enough how poor and frustrating the customer service has been with Alex at Haart Ipswich. The entire process has been full of lies, lack of communication, and completely unprofessional behaviour. If you value your time and money, stay far away from this estate agent.
We are in the process of buying a property, and from the very beginning, Alex has been unhelpful and dismissive. When we first made our offer, he was more interested in pushing us to speak with his mortgage advisor than actually helping us through the buying process. He lied to us, claiming that we legally couldn’t make an offer until we had spoken to the internal mortgage advisor for a finance check, which was simply untrue.
As the process continued, communication became a nightmare. When we finally got a response, Alex was patronising and unprofessional. He even swore at me on the phone several times, which was completely unacceptable. I assume this is also why he would only speak to me on his mobile. So, the calls aren’t recorded!
When we asked for updates on the paperwork, Alex was quick to blame our solicitor for any delays, even though we had proof that everything was at the seller's end. We phoned the branch and one of his colleagues told us that the memorandum of sale hadn’t even been issued three weeks after our offer was accepted. Funny that his story was completely different! Then, we were informed that Alex hadn’t even updated our solicitor’s details, which caused the radio silence. He tried to blame us for not making it clear we were using a different solicitor, despite us providing email proof that we had communicated this already.
The lack of professionalism and accountability from Alex has been shocking. To add insult to injury, we’ve now discovered that the property’s advert on the website was misleading in terms of the boiler installation. We were told by Alex twice during the viewing that a brand-new combi boiler had been installed. However, it turns out the boiler is nearly 12 years old and hasn’t been serviced in the past four years. If we proceed with this sale, we’ll have to spend £5,000 replacing it. We were misled and lied to.
I strongly urge anyone considering Haart Ipswich to avoid Alex. The lack of professionalism, dishonesty, and utter disregard for customer concerns have made this process incredibly stressful and frustrating.
Misleading pictures of advertised property
Be aware, they are fast to take you money, slow to respond to issues. Rented a house from them based on pictures supplied and a video which made it look like the tenant was moving out. We could not view in person as we moved from overseas. On arrival we find the house does not look anything like in the pictures and is a complete neglected dump. The gas certificate provided was wrong as a working gas fire was not inspected, mold on walls, door handles held on with brown tape, immersion heather faulty, carpet so dirty that you walk on them your feet go black underneath but Haart claimed they cleaned the house, hot water coming out the cold taps, owners furniture, 2 x sofa's, a bed base, cabinets, bookshelf, fridge, washing machine, pictures and mirrors left in the house, cracked plug sockets to much to list on this review. All reported to Haart on the 28.11.2024 and still now repairs done to the inside of the house apart from gutters cleaned, a leaking pipe fixed and a broken oven inspected. They did decommission the gas fire when they realized it was illegal and working! They ignore emails, calls and complaints and only reply to questions in a political way with answering with no real answer. If you a landlord be careful as this property was not looked after and the landlord is in the USA so I am not sure if he is aware of the condition of the place. If you a tenant, definitely inspect the place and get all issues resolved before you move in as once you paid the rental forget about getting things done. They have no excuse for what they have done, because there is no way they can justify any work done properly and the fact that 13 days after reporting we have no light in the main bedroom, we can use the house because of the furniture and the immersion heather issues, still nothing has been done. Never mind the mold on the wall and the other 70 or so issues. Just the fact that the pictures they used of the property do not realistically represent the property tells you enough about them. The formal complaint takes 15 working days for them to respond and trust me I am sure they will wait until the 15th day to respond!
Do not recommend!
I called earlier at 1:26pm with interest to rent a property (I didn't note the lady's name) she said she would call back in terms of arranging a viewing which I understood.
When I received a call back a couple of hours later which I unfortunately missed as I was in surgery no one left a voicemail which I found strange.
I then called back the exact same number when I could and spoke to someone called Abi who said 'you do realise this has went through to the central department' and then sajd she would get someone from the lettings department to call me back (does hart not transfer phone calls like any other business does where you're placed on hold whilst the other person picks up?)
35min later no one had called me back which left me believing the member of staff I spoke to hadn't passed on the message so I called again and was told someone would call me back in terms of a viewing
When I received a call back just before 6pm, James didn't know what property I was interested in and when I mentioned the property it then seemed to click what I was interested in which came across as very unprofessional to be calling back a customer with no record of the interest
I was simply asked for my email where a video tour would be sent to me (which could have been done when I INITIALLY called at 1pm with the first member of staff I spoke to)
It is now 7pm and no email and as the office closed at 6pm I am guessing no video tour is being sent to me today.
I am incredibly disappointed and would not recommend hart under ANY circumstance.
This is NOT the first negative experience however the second which has led me to leave a review.
Please do not waste your time with hart and instead approach riverdale or joseph who seem like they enjoy their job, are upbeat and professional and remember who you are and your interest.
Smooth selling process from Haart…
Smooth selling process from Haart Ipswich. Luke, Callum and Jamie all played a key part in our sale and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
We recently view a property in Hintlesham suffolk and decided to proceed to rent the property through the Ipswich branch ( haart). We paid an initial holding deposit payment of over £320.
Sadly we had to withdraw within around 12 hours due to a sudden unexpected health issue which was unforseen.
We were told that as we had withdrawn, the holding deposit would not be returned.
Now we could understand this if a number of days had passed but, the deposit was paid late in the day and we cancelled the very next morning. So nothing would of happened overnight transaction wise.
We do not recommend haart and will certainly not be using them in the future.
Satisfied seller
I tried to sell my house with another estate agent then Neil Duhaney from Haarts Ipswich came to the rescue! He gave good advice on the best way for me to show the property. There were viewings immediately which I was always informed of. I was soon under offer by first time buyers and the sale went through quickly. I appreciate Neil's help.

He was very polite, respectful and knowledgeable and answered all our queries, putting our minds at ease. He also made a follow up call and sent an email as promised, which we were really pleased with. It's nice to engage with a company and Staff that actually listen. We hope to continue a long and harmonious relationship with Haart.

Excellent service.
The service that we have received from Terrell at Haart Ipswich has been absolutely first class. We required a rental property in Ipswich for our Son. Ipswich is a long way from here in North Lincolnshire ,but the whole process was managed online and via phone calls.
Terrell went above and beyond to secure us our property of choice, he explained in great detail the entire process, and despite a few issues, which were dealt with in an extremely professional manner, everything has gone very, very well.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this agent.
Thankyou for outstanding service.

Best Estate Agents For Me!!
I am a PA to a Director of a Property Investment company so I deal with a lot of estate agents in my work. I must say that HAART IPSWICH are by far the best I have dealt with. Lara, Terrell and Georgina have all been so efficient, amenable and friendly in enabling our letting experience to be as easy and painless as possible and I am extremely impressed. In my experience ‘lettings clients’ have always been treated second class to ‘buying clients’ but HAART IPSWICH have changed that experience for me entirely. Their system is slick and user friendly. Their service is impeccable.
