I wouldn't give any stars for this service!
Been trying to cancel from the start but tied into it for a year. Then automatic renewal without giving me an option to cancel.
Not even correct car details on account, I've never ever owned a Toyota!
Bad service and bad customer service!

Whatever you do DONOT sign up to Halfords membership £5.49, month Halfords tried to overcharge me on work that needed doing I mean double then told me 4 tyres all badly needed changing we complained to the executive CEO
But now we are members of Halfords and can't cancel for 8 months thank god it's only £5.49 tried to do online but it's down tried to phone twice cut me off - think the call goes overseas she was poor
NEVER GO TO HALFORDS FOR WORK AND NEVER NEVER JOIN THE MEMBERSHIP LESSON LEARNT GUYS......

DON'T USE HALFORDS AUTOCENTRE IF YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF

I'd give Halfords A minus score if I could. Do not let these cowboys touch your car. Not even your kids toy one. Mobile fitmment for 4 New Bridgestone tyres. They screwed up BIG TIME. Cars undrivable and halfords dont give a shit.Paid the extra for Insurance and TPMS Servicing too. Rang customer services that many times, you'd best not to waste your time as you get the displeasure of dealing with idiots from South Africa that does not know anything or even know how to solve it. Had to pump tyres up constantly several times even in a day. Lucky if I get the 4 miles to Useless Auto centre only to be told its not their problem, but to go online and sort it because Mobile fitting nothing to do with Halfords. Online where you get idiots and tell you to message someone who cares, Because we at halfords.co.uk pride ourself as if things go wrong and often they do have a piece of mind we'll give less of a shit should you need help, or claim on insurance. My bank is trying to get money back. Shouldn't be down to them. 2 weeks later and nothing from halfords. And do not join Halfords Premium membership as it means nothing. All a con to get your money and once they do, they turn there back and WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP. Avoid, avoid AVOID. Worse company you can give your hard earned money too£500 and still cannot use. Because driving on rims as tyres don't stay inflated...And damage alloys when you hit pot holes. And there are so many to avoid. Takes chunks out of the rims because tyres fitted by Halfords Mobile fitting are not fit for purpose. Had to pay another garage to redo tracking on car because of this. Cannot go far in the car until I replace tyres. But £500 plus damages and no reply from them even with 3 different case numbers as THIS COMPANY ONLY EMPLOYS IDIOTS WHO CAN PALM YOU OFF AND ANGER YOU IN THE PROCESS....

Once you book your mot you get harassed by text, calls and emails with reminders about your booking all the way up until the evening before. Was on the way to the garage for mot and they called and cancelled. Got to garage and was told to fu*k off by the guy behind the desk at national tyres. Called customer services they don’t care got told to find somewhere else as they didn’t have any availability that day - needed to be done as took the day off work for it to be done that day. Resolving the issue is now next to impossible - been on the phone for over an hour and half trying to deal with customer services

Really disappointed in this service and…

Really disappointed in this service and no one ever responds to my e-mail.

It says I have used my MOT, which I didn't and the reason I signed up.

Avoid this is a con and non one responds to emails which everone you send it to and un helpful in store to sort.

Don't get involved

My elderly Mother was pressured into joining Halfords motorclub. They booked her in for MOT but not a garage near, she asked for a different garage and they gave her another garage too far. She gave up and wrote the £54 off. She was then auto renewed 12 months later, which she wasn't aware of. Mum canceled within 2 weeks but they never refunded the money, they emailed to say it would be in her account but the money never appeared. Next time we tried to email them, they sent an email to say the matter was closed.

Only way to cancel this in our experience is to report the card you paid with as lost.

Massive SCAM that seems to focus on elderly folk.

Do not get drawn in to this scheme

Do not get drawn in to this scheme, free mot the first one I had was a fail but then went straight through at another garage. I then took my Kia but that failed on the brake test, I then took the car to Kia main dealer and the brake test passed comfortably.
I then called Halfords to cancel my membership and was told there was an exit fee to be paid. The whole motoring club is a scam, do not get taken in.

You cannot change your email address for Halfords Motoring Club. Waste of time entering details as they are now all lost. I am concerned about potential security breaches on my old email. Halfords complaints line is an automated system that hangs up on you. Glad I am only on the free subscription.

Motoring Club is a scam

Motoring Club is a scam! It advertised two checks per membership term, I only had MOT and service and was unable to get a fee checkup done let alone two! Contacted support I availed free MOT so I can’t have free checks???? But that was including MOT, then I cancelled membership! I received offer via login to say Black Friday offer renew membership! I logged onto my free membership account, toggle button was there to avail membership for £44 for another year! Paid for all, then membership didn’t activated! Called customer service, they told me it was for new customers, yet it was on my login! Then I joined by new- mail, it was charging £54. So it’s all scam! Pay £54 for MOT or have membership paid for £54 and get MOT free! Motoring club is a scam, however, Halfords in itself not bad

I cancelled my membership several weeks…

I cancelled my membership several weeks ago and received a email from Halfords confirming that cancellation. However today I noticed a withdrawal transaction in favour of £54.00. My bank investigated and it was the Motoring Club subscription. A refund has been processed but it could take up to 7 days to receive! I’ve no doubt if I hadn’t noticed the transaction I would never have got a refund! Just watch them!

Not worth it

As people have put the ability to cancel is quite frankly shameful and boarding illegal in certain countries. There are no options to do it online and you can only call a number or essentially apply to cancel which is an absolute joke.
Once you get the email from them it then ASKS if you want to cancel and if you don't reply soon enough they go back pretending you never wanted to leave!
On top of this you get replies that are passive aggressive from the reps (wow) and them trying to charge you.

The benefits are incredibly small in getting this and the cons when you try to leave are disgraceful.

Scam?

Halfords clearly make it as difficult as possible to cancel motoring club memberships. What an awful policy for a company to have. It's a blatant scam.

You're not a customer, you're a captive. Every avenue you try leads you knowhere. You can't cancel auto-renew. The links you are provided with give you 403 errors, which means they are denying you access to the webpages you're trying to get to.
They have a continuous payment authority which means your bank will keep paying them when they request it. So now you also have to contact your bank to get that stopped because people have had their cancelled memberships mystically renewed, allegedly.

Might be a profitable business model, but really Halfords? Shame on you.

Don't get caught by the con at the till. I was never told it was a 12 month contract and reading other reviews looks like I’ll have to cancel my bank card to terminate this membership which will be annoying. If not get in touch with my bank to maybe stop payments.

Don't join the motoring club - they make it so hard to leave

Today was my second attempt to cancel my membership. I will only be able to do this 30 days prior to my renewal and by contacting them.

So I am responsible for cancelling when they tell me I can and I have to waste my time contacting them. Ridiculous.

'Olivia' in customer service sent me a ton of t&c's to justify why they don't offer a 'turn off renewal' option - none of which were relevant.

Don't join. If you do, use a temporary debit card and cancel it so you don't get caught.

Useless service

Purchased a ctek extension lead from them on the internet, order confirmed and payment taken.
Advised by email it would be with local Preston branch a week later, visited branch a day after date shown as delivery, they knew nothing about it.
Contacted chat at Halfords and they said it would be passed to investigation team but could be up to 48 hours before a reply, then what a further week before delivery.
Not the first time I have had problems with Halfords but it will be the last

worst experiance ever

worst experiance ever, first they sucker you in with discounts and vocuchers. Once in you use them to buy products because you get 10% discount, these products are priced 20% other retailers ( so no discount really) then you use them for a FREE MOT remember you paid to join effectively paying for the MOT. Then your vechile will NEED lots of work if you are a memeber, you have to use them otherwise you will be paying for an MOT else where. Again they inflate their prices so you dont get a better deal! Then if you are unlucky like i was EASTBOURNE branch will hold your vehicle together with zip ties, you will return to have the work retified, and again, and again, and again. Finally, they will offer you a refund, and the refund will cancel this as they did the work! The fact that it is not done correctly and left your vehicle in a dangerous MOT failure state is of no matter. They will not tell you they have cancelled your refund and you will have to call backj several times and argue the toss, they will say they will contact you with in 48 hours, they wont and you will be told another 48 hours after hoursd lost on the phone and emails, and threats of trading standards, they most probably give in. But is it worth the agro? NO, stay welll clear use a local independant garage that acually cares!
