Great customer experience.

I bought a toy from Hamley's in St Enoch shopping centre in Glasgow which needed batteries. For some reason I couldn't get it to work properly. The young man at the desk was very helpful and got it sorted for me. Great customer service.

Absolutely no back office..

Have been fighting for almost two months to get refunded for goods that arrived damaged (due to being poorly packed), can only recommend that you avoid a 'once great' UK institution.

Like many other reviews have been met with a wall of frankly we don't care emails (in the most polite English),

Zorbi magic flying saucer

We bought two of these Magic Flying Saucers as presents to take back to New Zealand. The display in the shop was brilliant and totally convincing, the implication was that there was a device worn behind the ear which you could control the saucer with and do amazing tricks. The reality is we paid 20 pounds for a plastic disc with a few lights, some blue tack and very fine string. Totally disappointing and a huge let down to the young boys we gave them to.
Come on Hamleys, conning people should be above you.

Absolute rubbish

Absolute rubbish. DO NOT BUY FROM HAMLEYS. Ordered collectable star wars lego for gift. Arrived in damaged flimsy box with very little packing was obviously going to get damaged in transit. Now have to go through the return refund saga and also buy again.....

Dissapointing staff

Dissapointing staff. The shop does have a huge selection of toys for all ages and play areas, which is nice. I was there today though and a staff member that was controlling a car by remote control saw that my one year old wanted to touch it and she kept on teasing him by letting him come close enough and then making the car go another direction. After a while you could see he was frustrated and I told her to let him have it, she gave me the lame excuse that the car was dirty. I replied that we don't mind but she still did it.
In conclusion, dear Hamley's, if you choose to hire uneducated people, at leat make sure they have some common sense.

Shame on Them

£75 is a lot of money for a drone that does not work. I bought it instore from a demo person, and took home to Manchester to find it was totally un controllable . I checked the web site and for returns it gives you a free post address, fantastic I thought! filled in the form and sent it back 8 weeks ago. tried contacting Hamleys and all they say is proof of postage please. but its a freepost address and I don't have it. Tough they say. so now I have to go to trading standards and I have lost £75. it appears from reviews I am not the first and if you buy from them I am sure not the last. How can we stop this company ripping people off in the heart of our capital city. SHAME ON THEM! DONT BUY FROM HAMLEYS!!!!

I feel sad!

I feel sad! Went to London for the first time in decades and took a tube with the soul purpose of buying our two small grandchildren a present from the ‘most amazing fantastic toy store in the world… Hamleys’
Well, no it’s not! So many hard sell, over the top, embarrassing staff pushing their sell of the day.
I had to come out with something! We spent £80 ( sale price so could have spent + £40 ) on a tile car track and flipping bunny. My husband was exhausted by the atmosphere but we had done it… our little grandson and granddaughter would have a gift.
Overpriced, over wrapped to make the toy look spectacular from the outside and single use plastic… neither car works making the set useless. Feel scammed! What a waste of time, money and excitement! Never again! Hamleys you should feel ashamed !

Not the Hamley's I remembered as a…

Not the Hamley's I remembered as a child, took my nephews and what was supposed to be an experience for them turned out to be very disappointing. Uninterested staff apart from the occasional member engrossed in upselling their demonstrated product, which leads me to the products which now seem to be all overpriced plastic tat
