I must have called the store more than 20 times during the opening hours as my child left her jacket and wanted to know if you have lost and found and not answered once. Plus no one helps if you are not interested in particular toy they are showing .

Scam Artist....

Brought what we all believed was a toy which floats on its own to get it open to pure tat. Cheap plastic rubbish with a string attached. £25 for a pound land quality. Scam artists.

Attacked by a member of Staff.

Attacked by a member of Staff.
My partner went to Hamleys toy store in Westfield, checked if it was okay to use a gift card that our 9 year old daughter was given and the staff confirmed it was.
On building a bear and going to the counter my partner was advised that the card was not valid in Hamleys.
My partner explained that the other staff members had checked and it was okay.
The member of staff then jumped the counter, attacked both my partner, also knocking her elderly mum over and through the display.

My 9 year old daughter was left having a panic attack, partner has had to go to hospital for injuries to knee and also wrist.

Have been unable to get hold of Hamleys by phone despite trying over 20 times and have not received any feedback to either emails or subject data request.
The member of staff was arrested and taken by police- the matter is awaiting to go to court.

Suffocating service

Visited Hamleys on Regent street in London with my eleven year old son today. A lot of people, expensive and pushy sellers, but that's to be expected. My son still found a Nerf gun marked 50% off that he wanted to buy. To our surprise, the clerk at the checkout said it was mislabeled and that the discount was only 25%. When we said that it was hardly our fault that the store marked the item with the wrong price and that the discounted price was not obviously unreasonable, the clerk and now also her superior said that the marking meant that the discount could be UP TO 50% but that for the item in question it applied 25% and that it was not possible to change the price at checkout. In addition, the clerk suggested that we could go up to the top floor again and go through all the other packaging to see if anyone else was also marked 50% off. In addition, it was implied that it was we ourselves who changed the price of the item and that if we continued to argue, the security guard would be called. To avoid making an already grieving child even sadder, we decided to just pay the higher price and get out of there. No wonder that online shopping suffocates the physical one when the clerks do their best to make fools of and insult its customers.

Disappointing experience!!!!

I visited Hamleys Build a Bear store in Westfield White City. I had e-gift voucher which turns out that to use, need to be print out. What is the problem with this company?!!! Nowadays no one even owns a printed and if I would like a use a paper would order an actual card by post. So useless!!! I cannot even believe how old fashion it is. Huge disappointment!!! There is also no certificate that you get as in other stores. Small not much stuff to chose from. Would recommend to use different shops!

my daughter was bowled over by the demonstration of the ZORBIE - a supposedly amazing floating toy only to get it home to find that it is plastic tat with strings attached - a complete lie to kids to spend all their money. DISGRACEFUL

Absolutely 'Dreadful' Service, never again!

Absolutely dreadful service, in fact the worst that I have ever encountered.

I ordered a doll for my little granddaughter's Christmas present.

The doll never arrived and despite many emails chasing Hamleys I have received neither the doll or a refund or even a reply for that matter.

Faulty goods = partial refund

We brought the extended family on our annual post-Christmas trip to Hamleys Regent Street and bought everyone a treat. When I got it home, my £90 flying machine was dead on arrival. I returned it by post, received no communication, no receipt or confirmation of refund, but got £76.50 refunded to me. Thanks Hamleys. Three families will now never again shop at your stores either in person or online. Your customer service is appalling, your quality control is terrible, and your attention to detail is nonexistent. Good customer service would be more like a full refund and a complimentary replacement… not a partial refund on a faulty piece of overpriced plastic rubbish.

Delighted, easy to contact and problem quickly sorted

Purchased a teddy bear in store at Hamleys, upon returning home found it had a small hole in the stitching. Contacted Customer Service by phone who offered a full refund with freepost returns or a partial refund if retained. All was sorted within a couple of hours. Really pleased with the experience.

Store was a little busy when we visted london, some of the staff we interacted with were cheerful and wasnt pushy with us, how ever we did find it very expensive and didnt buy any toys on our visit my daughter bought a pack of sweets for £2 and the till op who was interacting with another staff member did eventually interactel with my daughter. think people just buy to say they have bought from hamleys. This is the reason i have given it a 3 star. Nothing amazing or above and beyond sorry.

Awful cheap tat avoid

Awful cheap tat.
Went during a trip to London, my 5 year old had heard of the store and saved all her Christmas money to go there. For 1 he’s was totally disappointed when she got there, 2 it was so over priced we saw a tin of Paddington biscuits with a £54 price tag. 3 the hamleys toys are cheap tat! Bought a bubble machine for our 1 year old, it doesn’t work and cost £10! The quality is so poor I would expect to pay £4 on a market stall. My advice save your £ and go to the Disney store down the road which is what we did! It’s brilliant!

Bad quality

We prefer going into the store and not buying anything at this point. I don’t know if its just our experience, but we spend a lot of money just to get poor-built toys, which break really quickly. You’d kind of expect to get a high quality toy when spending more money that should be spent on a toy, but i guess not. Hamleys has been around for so long, and i remember it being better quality before but now it just disappoints us, time and time again

Overpriced and pushy

So overpriced. There was some Lego my daughter wanted for £120. A quick google check found it for £90 on John Lewis… £30 cheaper!
The demonstrators are pushy and don’t really show how to use the items, just want to suck your poor children (and your wallets) into buying their overpriced tat.

Incredibly poor quality toys

We took the children into Régent St and Hamley’s as a treat in the holidays between Christmas and New Year. We said they could pick one you each. We spent £80 in total. All three toys had broken within days. The quality of the toys is terrible, especially the ones they have people actively promoting. It was incredibly disappointing for the children 😥
