I went for the free trial

I went for the free trial. My meetings have a lot of background noise and I wanted to see what it could do. The background noise did matter and it made some mistakes. Additionally the upload time is very long, I think it was longer than 1 min of audio recording to 1 min of uploading.

I have five meetings to transcribe so I needed to see a full one for accuracy.

The real pet peeve is that it let me see the first part, of my free trial and then wanted to charge me $17 to see the rest.

If it isn't a free trial then don't tell me it is and waste an hour uploading.

This bait and switch of a free trial needs to stop.

READ BEFORE SUBSCRIBING

I have used the paid plan for a month and I would not recommend to anyone this platform. I understand that AI subtitles are far from accurate and I accept that. But their user experience to edit the subtitles are very poor. Changes are not saved or reflected in the final files, so I kept having to revisit all my changes to see if they are all updated which were a lot of extra work and the tool did not help me save time. Also, the webpage kept refreshing every minute or two. Everytime it refreshed, it would take me back to the beginning of the video. Now imagine that you are editing the subtitles for a video that is 40 minutes long, with inaccurate transcript, the webpage keeps refreshing every minute or two, everytime it refreshes, you are at the beginning of the video and you have to find where you left it, and on top of that the changes you made resulted not updated in the working file. It was an absolute nightmare and I am so glad I did not get the yearly plan even though it was cheaper. I tried to chat to the team from my first day in the subscription, they took forever to get back. They asked me to do recordings for them (which I felt that they just didn't do their product testing before launching their product). I sent them twice the recordings, and in my end of the chatbox it said the recordings were sent, but it happened that they didn't receive anything at their end. Then they asked to email the recordings instead and the whole shebeng... I mean why would I bother after all if the product and even your chatbox are faulty? By the way, you do not have access to the chatbox when you are in a working file. I believe most users spend most of their time in the working files, not in the homepage LOL All in all, the idea of the product is good but with this particular provider, I felt like I paid money to help them test their product and on top I did not get a solution at the end. Their product is not ready, the support team is green and they have not thought through its UX. So it is quite disappointing.

Paywall AFTER I signed up and uploaded files

I don't mind paid services. Companies need to make money.
What I do mind is me signing up, getting the video file into the website, WAITING for the transcription, and when it finally loaded, THEN I was presented with a paywall. This is the WORST way to handle a paid service on a website. Make it clear this is a paid service before I waste my time. Glad I used a burner email.

Happyscribe does transcribe in Bulgarian

I have resolved the issue of transcribing interviews in English and Bulgarian, all in one video file. The response by the Happy Scribe staff has been beyond amazing. Their speedy advice to upload the file twice, once selecting English (for the two English interviews) and the other time selecting Bulgarian (for the remaining interviews), produced an excellent outcome. I payed for a automatic captions for my video and waited like forever till I can download it. But it was only loading icon telling me it is still in progress. 1,5 minutes video. I contacted customer service, but apparently there is no one to tell what is going on. Just waste of money and your time.

NOT FREE, DON'T USE IF JUST TRYING IT OUT

It's not free at all. You can upload a video and work hard manually creating your subtitles but you cant export anything at all, not the file, not the video. You get NOTHING unless you subscribe to their service which is $17 a month. Otherwise, it's just online for you to stare at.

What a joke

I was going to translate a German video with english captions but it told me i reached my monthly limit however I didn't use this website in March (This month). So I deleted my videos that I don't need, yet it won't work. I will now be looking for another reliable video translator. Don't use!

Seemed pretty good for text extraction.

There are some unfair reviews talking about not getting jobs and having to pay for downloading files but for text extraction seems ok. Also I only used English Language where I should imagine LLM and recognition is more advanced in academia.

It didn't worked

It didn't worked, the subtitles weren't accurate, then i wanted to edit those subtitles those boxes where you can edit, but those boxes dissapeared once i edit the whole text away, so there weren't enough boxes, so i had to restart it, but then it said you have to pay, so i couldn't even truly test it in the end

Predatory company

Predatory company. I read a guide that they have made on their own website on how to get machine-translated subtitles for free for a 10 min video.

Based on that promise, I made the subtitles and spend a good amount of time to get them correct. Then I cannot download the srt file without getting a subscription despite them showing that its possible in their guide.

What an actual scam. I would have just made it myself then, instead of wasting my time with this crap.
