Very easy transaction. Quote was emailed to me. I posted silver jewellery to them on Tuesday, they paid out the next day! Highly recommend!

STAY AWAY FROM THESE ROGUE SCAMMERS.

They received my gold on the 6th feb and its now the 11th of feb and they have not provided any update all whilst falsely advertising same day payouts on their site.

They have made major mistakes on my sale as detailed below, I want a resolution else legal proceedings will commence in the form of a County Court civil claim, I will also escalate this to the financial ombudsman, and the police if they continue to ignore.

They have emailed me saying my order is processed and that they will pay £0.00! yet on their site when i login and look at the sale they have defined 15.30 grams of 14ct gold at £864.76, they have also commented "Cut up item is non gold."

To provide clarity:
1) The cut up pieces of gold weighed 12 grams, to which they are claiming is non-gold.

2) The gold handle with 2 smaller pieces they have defined as 15.30 grams of 14ct gold but this is WRONG! I weighed it 4 times on 2 different scales before shipping it to them and this is backed with photographic evidence that the gold handle and the 2 smaller pieces is 22.00 Grams! they have failed to correct this error, they are not responding and have in-effect STOLEN MY GOLD despite several emails to them to either correct their mistakes and pay out or to RETURN MY ITEMS!

THIS FIRM HAS GONE ROGUE, THEY ARE THIEFS! I WILL BE ESCALATING TO FOS AND OPENING A CIVIL CLAIM IN THE COURTS.

ACTIONFRAUD AND THE POLICE WILL ALSO BE INFORMED.

I contacted YOU, after 14 calls waiting on your automated line, for you to answer and drop the call TWICE before you managed to utter some words on the followup call.

MY ITEM (GOLD HANDLE) WAS 22 GRAMS AND THE CUT UP PEICES WHERE 12 GRAMS, FULLY PHOTOGRAPHED AND EVIDENCED!

I SUSPECT YOU HAVE MIXED UP MY ITEM WITH SOMEONE ELSES (DELIBERATLEY OR OTHERWISE),

I HAVE DECLINED YOUR OFFER FOR THE 15.30 GRAMS AS I KNOW MY ITEM WAS 22 GRAMS AND HAVE THE PROOF AND EVIDENCE TO DISPUTE THIS.

YOU BETTER SEND ME MY ITEMS BACK AND ENSURE THEY ARE THE RIGHT ITEMS AND NOT SOMEONE ELSES, IF YOU SEND ME SOMEONE ELSES ITEMS, I WILL COMMENCE LEGAL ACTION AS I HAVE ALL THE PROOF IN PHOTOS, WEIGHTS, AT THE TIME OF PACKAGING AND WILL CHALLENGE THIS LEGALLY TO THE ENTH DEGREE!

FAR FROM A LEGITIMATE OUTLET, I WONDER WHY THEY HAVE SO MANY BODYGUARDS OUTSIDE THEIR LONDON COUNTER, POSSIBLY TO DEAL WITH ALL THE ANGRY CLIENTEL WHO THEY HAVE SCAMMED!

Despite an initial hiccup, over getting a collection package sent out, the rest of my dealing was very smooth and simple.
After checking the credentials of the company, I got a simple, fixed, valuation for my items. I compared other market rates and found the deal favorable. Got a padded anvelope, secured the goods, addressed as guided, got it fully insured and signed special delivery package at PO and sent it off. That was Friday PM. Payment in Bank Monday PM. Couldn't have asked for more.

I bought a gold 20 franc marianne online from this company for £680. It came with a small black patch on the coin, which I thought nothing of until I somehow managed to peel back some of the surface of the coin with my finger nail to reveal more black metal underneath! I'm almost certain this coin is a fake! I don't have a Sigma tester but this company really should test their coins with one, as an XRF can and will be fooled by gold plated tungsten fakes, as will a density test. Only an electrical resistivity test will not be fooled. A second, lesser issue is that I recently ordered a tube of current year britannias, and a woman from HGM called me and said that several of the britannias would be different dates from the one I ordered. I specifically asked whether the ones of different dates would be 999 fineness, she confirmed with me yes. Lo and behold the coins arrive and out of the 25 I receive three 2012 britannias and one 2008 britannia, all of which are NOT 999 fineness but .958, with the weight of these coins being slightly higher to bring it to 1 troy ounce of actual silver weight. This woman lied to me, and this company is really dishonest and unprofessional. For a company that is this well established they should not be selling fakes or selling coins which they simply do not have. It is utterly shambolic and I will never buy anything from this company again.

UPDATE: 3 days after this review was posted an employee of HGM called me and offered to refund the gold coin and the return postage costs. She apologised profusely and I was sent a prepaid envelope and a returns form to fill out. After I sent back the item I was called again a week later to confirm if I wanted the refund and I have now been refunded. I have raised my rating by one star, but I still feel it is unacceptable that a member of the LBMA is selling fakes. I asked the woman who called me whether they have a Sigma tester and she said no, they would instead cut the coin open and look inside. To this day do not know whether or not the coin was truly a fake, and I hope that they do not intend to sell it on to some other unsuspecting client. There is now a small dark gash on the coin from where the gold peeled off (I have photographed it), hopefully that will ensure it will never be passed off as genuine again.

First off was speed- I opted for an instant payout and got it instantly. Posted Thursday, paid by Friday as soon as I got my confirmation email. According to spot pricing, I received around 98-99% which is extraordinary. But beware- prices for gold to BUY are not what you get to SELL! It's important to realise you can't just sell gold to anyone as proof is needed. HGM have a 100% record and you must deal with a company of their standing as a casual seller. My rating is 10/10 Excellent.
