I cant recommend Tribe enough. The moment they answered the first phone call to the whole way that they've handled the funeral of our mother, it's been stress-free, seamless, adaptable, friendly, compassionate. Everything you could wish for. Not living locally was not a problem. They adapted. We had remote meetings even with a celebrant, which they organised as well, recommending flowers and also being so flexible when we changed our minds about details. We were never made to feel like we were being difficult. If might cost a little more than a national but its definitely worth it if you want a stress-free, beautiful experience for you and your loved one.

We cannot thank Paul Carver and the team at HD Tribe, Shoreham enough for their incredible compassion and care after the loss of my beloved mum. From the very first phone call, they were kind, patient, and guided us through the entire process with such warmth. They went above and beyond to make a difficult time so much easier, and nothing was too much trouble. We felt truly supported throughout. A special thanks to celebrant Melanie Sopp and also Carole who produced such a beautiful photo montage and order of service.

I cannot praise Lisa highly enough for her attention to detail and her kind and caring attitude. It was such a comfort knowing that I could call her any time to check things that bothered me. It was a lovely funeral, I couldn't hae wished for a better one

If you want a professional but friendly service then Lisa at HD Tribe, Littlehampton, is absolutely who you need to arrange your loved ones funeral. She listened to us when we talked about my Mum and helped enormously throughout the process. We were able to incorporate personal touches to the service, with her guidance, that made it much more meaningful and memorable. The personal touch she provided effortlessly was everything we could have asked for, thank you Lisa, we really appreciate everything you did.

My father passed on a Sunday afternoon, my husband called tribes, the receptionist was very kind, and advised they would be with us within the hour (which they were).The two men that attended were very professional, kind and gave us the time we needed to say goodbye before dad was respectfully taken to their chapel of rest.
Paul at their lancing branch was so helpful, he thoroughly explained the options available, and how we could make it tailored to exactly what we wanted; he answered many emails and calls from me and we got the funeral we think our dad would have liked. Paul arranged all the photo tributes (we had 3) music, live streaming/recordings for family members abroad and the order of service with our celebrant Julie.
We decided to all make our own way to the funeral, and to all meet at their Shoreham chapel. It is a lovely building, modern, clean and welcoming, everything is in one place, it is all on one level so good for elderly/disabled people attending the service and celebration of life afterwards; no one having to get back into cars to go to another venue. Dad was already there, in the chapel when we arrived. We opted for a rattan teardrop coffin which was very gentle on the eye, everyone commented on how nice it was (as coffins go).
The service was just under an hour then everyone made their way to the catering rooms for afternoon tea, which was very nice, Paul arranged for a screen to play photos on a roll and we had dads favourite tunes playing in the background. We used their caterers and bought our own bubbles to raise a toast to our beloved Dad.
Dad’s friends and family all said what a lovely service it was and how much dad would have liked it!
I bumped into one of dad’s friends daughters a few days later and she said both of her parents were so impressed with the service, that they both requested that have the same service with tribes that we choose.
If you are unsure of which funeral directories to use at a time of great sadness, look no further than Tribes, I highly recommend their services from start to finish, so glad we choose them. Thank you Tribes and Paul.

From the moment I contacted HD Tribe Worthing and spoke to Paul Maguire, I knew we were in very capable hands. Paul went over and above what we expected, nothing was too much trouble and he was there to make suggestions or recommendations if we were struggling. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend HD Tribe Worthing to anyone. At a very difficult time, Paul and the team were very supportive and compassionate.

Jackie & Christine cannot thank Alex Warren & Andy Roberts, Funeral Celebrant, enough for their compassion & friendly service in helping us to arrange the funeral for our father, Terence Poulter. In our opinion they went above & beyond to make sure the day was everything dad deserved.

Paul and his wonderful team helped make a sad occasion a joyous one. Paul could not have been more helpful and was very efficient in answering all our queries. He provided much needed advice with compassion and dignity. I would thoroughly recommend their services.

So grateful to Symon and his team at HD Tribe Shoreham, who all made a difficult time so much easier than we could have possibly hoped for. They were compassionate and professional in both their support and recommendations throughout the process. The chapel itself is beautiful and light, and the ability to have catering and a reception room onsite was perfect.

On February 20th 2025 we buried our sister with Tribe's expert help and I wrote the note below to our main contact - Darren Fehrenbach. Then it occurred to me to share our praises to hopefully ease the decision-making for another family in their time of loss.

Dear Darren and the whole Tribe Community,
Our family will be singing your praises into the forever future with our gratitude for your services as we said goodbye and celebrated our sister / cousin / friend / community member - FMR.
From the moment I opened the Golden Leaves funeral packet FMR had arranged way back in 2005 and sought to call your firm to make some necessary changes (we needed to shift to a cremation since FMR wanted to be buried with our mother but that was not possible) I have been nothing but overwhelmed by your kindness, professionalism, dedicated hard work and compassion."

I'd like to reassure any future possible customers that this lovely, now-three-generation (I think) family firm, has found way to eliminate the stress! They have learned how to manage an event with multiple very caring-and-opinionated family members - who are also decision-makers and mourners - in such a way as to allow a beautiful process to lead to a respectful ceremony and closure.

I think Darren Fehrenbach is a particularly careful listener, kind man and consummate professional, but everybody I spoke to when calling the company was excellent.

I rather suspect you will be called upon again for other members of our family.

We dealt with Paul Carver who was invaluable to us. He made what was a very sad time into a joyous occasion. He was very professional and also very kind and caring to us. He pointed us in the right direction as we had not organised a funeral before, gave us lots of advice, kept in touch with us often and just asked if we were ok. Couldn't have done it without him.

We had the unfortunate need to use the services of HD Tribe recently and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They were faultless in their service and made the experience go as smoothly as could be. We held the service in the chapel and had the wake in their reception room as well. Every member of staff we came across was empathetic but professional and were really helpful. Paul and his team was marvellous in his communication and went above and beyond to make sure the service and wake went as smoothly as possible.

We went to see a couple of places before HD Tribe and were so impressed by Symon's friendly welcome at Tribe. The funeral itself was so calm and the wake after was relaxed and at no time did we feel rushed. It was as if they were there for only us. Beautiful place. Thank you x

On behalf of my Sister and our family we would sincerely like to thank Paul Carver at SHOREHAM TRIBES. He went above and beyond to ensure all our wishes were fulfilled for our dear “Mumsies’ Service. We cannot thank you enough for what was a difficult time, ringing us, confirming things. Also recommending Rev Melanie Sopp who’s words about Mumsie were like she had known her. Melanie took the time to not only listen to us but to look through a book that Mumsie had completed “Tell us about your life Mum” .

HD TRIBE arranged my Husband funeral and Paul in Sompting branch was truly amazing he went above and beyond to help me through this tough time and I could not have coped without him thank you Paul for all your amazing help it was so lovely to deal with such a wonderful Man and I know my lovely Frankie would have been proud of the lovely service you gave him

On behalf of Jane,Paul and Chloe we wish to say how pleased we were with our mother's funeral. It went so well. We were treated with such care and respect. The venue was lovely, the service was so slick. We were so happy and touched by it. Relatives have phoned me to say how nice the Shoreham venue was; it was "as warm as being in a friend's house". We were very pleased with the catering.
Thank you for making Mum's final journey the best it could have been.

H.D. Tribe Limited are truly excellent. The service provided by Lisa John of H D Tribe was second to none. H.D.Tribe looked after our Dad's funeral in 1990 and Lisa looked up the records when Mum recently died (2024) and ensured that Mum would be buried in the same plot, as had been requested over 30 years ago. Lisa also very kindly telephoned me on the morning of the funeral to check that I was OK. I cannot recommend H D Tribe strongly enough. From the first telephone call with Paul Maguire the service received from Tribes' has been outstanding. Kindness, professionalism and empathy has been there in abundance with genuine care and concern for every member of my family whilst dealing with the funeral of my brother Paul. Alex Warren guided us through every step, providing clear and regular communication. His professionalism throughout the process and his kindness (especially to my elderly mum) was outstanding.
