H.D. Tribe Limited are truly excellent. The service provided by Lisa John of H D Tribe was second to none. H.D.Tribe looked after our Dad's funeral in 1990 and Lisa looked up the records when Mum recently died (2024) and ensured that Mum would be buried in the same plot, as had been requested over 30 years ago. Lisa also very kindly telephoned me on the morning of the funeral to check that I was OK. I cannot recommend H D Tribe strongly enough. From the first telephone call with Paul Maguire the service received from Tribes' has been outstanding. Kindness, professionalism and empathy has been there in abundance with genuine care and concern for every member of my family whilst dealing with the funeral of my brother Paul. Alex Warren guided us through every step, providing clear and regular communication. His professionalism throughout the process and his kindness (especially to my elderly mum) was outstanding. Each and every person within the company has been genuinely kind and empathetic. Everything we requested was provided and nothing was too much trouble. Alex and the team helped in making a difficult time a little bit easier and provided us with the perfect service.

Tribes is a company I have trusted to help arrange several family funerals. They consistently provide a sensitive and professional service and always do all they possibly can to ensure the family needs for the funeral and other arrangements are met to a very high standard, nothing is too much trouble from the moment you meet with them, they really listen to what you need and hope for. They offer a chapel and a room to hold a wake making them a one stop service relieving stress and worry. The services they recommend for flowers, celebrants and refreshments for the wake are excellent.

A huge thankyou to Tribe and Alex in particular, in carrying out the funeral service for Sylvia, it was outstanding. Every member of the firm that we came in to contact with, was mindful and warm. In a time of loss and grief, Tribe's offers a calm, peaceful space. Alex's experience, guidance and counsel was so very much appreciated and bespoke. Hazel delivered a thoughtful and heartwarming service that will be remembered by all those present. As we all go about our daily lives we give little thought and planning into how we will deal with the aftermath of losing someone we love so dearly, then when it happens you are not only swamped by wave upon wave of emotion grief and stress but you quickly realise you have to navigate your way in the dark through a whole process that you know very little to nothing about.
When our mother was ill with cancer even though we were hopeful she would recover in the back of my mind I knew if the worst outcome came to fruition we needed to be prepared and have an idea of the process so that when we made the important decisions we wouldn’t feel like we had not given her the care and send off she would have wanted and deserved, also for my mum personally she didn’t cope well with acknowledging the illness so it wasn’t a case of her and us as a family planning together for her funeral it was going to be very much a case of us doing it afterwards.
After looking into reviews and speaking to some people about recommendations I found HD tribes in Rustington and learned a little about the process and when our mum passed I can honestly say mum and us as a family could not have been in better hands.
I can’t praise Carly at HD tribes highly enough she was not only efficient and professional with crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s but wonderful and warm natured, guiding us through the whole technical and legal process which can seem so daunting and overwhelming, she really took the time and care to make sure we felt what was happening and the options and decisions we made were right for mum and for us.
She treated our mum with the upmost care and respect from start to finish and I can honestly say the fact that the process leading up to the day of the funeral went so well and felt so personal, that we felt informed and aware helped us keep calm, then on the day of the funeral everything slotted into place beautifully and if I personally take one thing away from that sad day it was that HD tribes gave my mum the send off she deserved, the reason I’ve written such along review is because I think it’s not talked about enough or realised to late in the day, to grieve is one thing but to regret and grieve is another thing entirely and losing someone you love is a time in your life you will always look back on, so being in the right set of hands through such an important process can either help you through that grieving process as it did with us and leave you feeling like it was a good death a good send off or leave you feeling like you were just another brick in the wall.

Superb service. Paul Virgo and his team at H D Tribe Sompting did everything in their power to help to arrange my mother's funeral exactly as I wished despite it being the middle of the Christmas and New Year holiday. They went far further than the actual mile to be respectful and make everything work on time as family were here from abroad. I cannot recommend then more.

My Dad passed away on New Year’s Day the tribe team are excellent from the moment they came to collect him to the funeral itself. A lovely touch of a rose on the bed when they took him away saying they would look after him. Paul at the Lancing office has been so helpful going through all the details carefully, explaining all the options. We went to the Shoreham chapel which is laid out ground floor with plenty of parking. It is a lovely venue and we were looked after so well by everybody. Thank you all so much

I cannot speak too highly about the H D Tribe team in Lancing who arranged my brother’s funeral so sensitively and professionally at their Shoreham chapel. This was (sadly) the third funeral which Paul has organised for me, and I knew I was in very safe hands. His choice of celebrant was perfect, and his recommendations for florist and catering were both excellent. Funerals are obviously stressful times, but Paul and the team really do all they can to make these sad occasions go as smoothly as possible. Their Shoreham chapel is also very well thought out - plenty of parking, no stairs, a reception area and a pleasant room for refreshments afterwards, all just a few steps from the chapel itself.

I had a tight timetable to get the funeral of my father arranged. Darren and the H D Tribe team out of Storrington did a brilliant job in making the process as easy and stress free as possible, even with some slightly tricky music arrangement. An excellent service.

I cannot recommend HD Tribe highly enough. From start to finish they helped our family send our mum off in a way that was exactly what we wanted and enabled us to have a lovely personal celebration of a long life very well-lived. Everyone was kind, caring and beyond helpful and I cannot thank them all enough.

I cannot thank Stephen Webber enough for all of the help and support I have received over the past few weeks in planning my Dad’s funeral. I live out of area and the whole process has been made easier. Nothing has been too much trouble and every detail considered was executed to perfection and dealt with in such a highly professional manner. We were still able to give my Dad a wonderful service which was held at the Broadwater Chapel despite these difficult times and restrictions. It makes such a difference when people are so warm and welcoming and this is exactly what we got. Thank you so much x

On behalf of the entire family, I want to express our deep and lasting gratitude to Symon and the whole team at HD Tribe. They guided us through the whole process of planning and conducting the funeral. The support was tremendous and everything that they did was conducted with the utmost professionalism and care.

With a family bereavement you need a funeral director who can provide efficiency and compassion. H D Tribe is a firm which provides an outstanding service in both regards, at a reasonable cost. Nothing is too much trouble and they have thought in advance of every possible detail. In addition, the firm has two very attractive chapels in which services can be conducted, with screens above the altar that can be used to show photos, as well as technology to record the service and to broadcast it live over the internet, to anyone who is unable to attend. We should also mention that they have an outstanding in house florist.

We used Tribe for both parents and a sibling. Our latest experience was this December where the particular case was complex due to a repatriation at Christmas time from the USA. The additional complexities were demanding but Tribe handled them all efficiently and proactively.

Our family would not hesitate to recommend Tribe.
