I bought a subscription of 1 year on 17th February 2023. It was supposed to be valid till 17th February 2024. But I'm getting licence has expired error. Don't know what is the issue.

Dropped connections. Often abysmal speeds. They lie about the location where you will appear after connecting to a remote location in another country. It seems you select New York, NY for example and when you check the IP address with "What's My IP Address?" it will show London, UK, or Miami, FL? WTH?!!?!

Support is nonexistent.
I have the app set to "killswitch" if there is anything wrong with the app, but it just crashes anyway without turning off my connection to the internet as it promises.
No way of telling when my security was breached or how. My antivirus now detects trojans when I tried to reinstall. Unsafe website, poor service, faulty product. Edit: support replied here and asked me to contact them. A week later still not replying. Scammers.

Appalling support - infact none. Multiple contacts with absolutely no reply so still cant properly use the software I've paid for !!!!

1. old .ovpn config files do not work. Routers couldn't establish connection;
2. broken links on the website to the config files;
3. support does not reply to the tickets.

Service is dead.

1. vpn is not authenticating
2. bought subscription is not applied during 2 months
3. vat is not refunded
4. support is not answering, all tickets are ignored
5. support redirects to non-existent host vpn.hidemyass.com

I have been using HMA since 2016. The apps for mainstream OS (apple, windows, ios) usually works ok.

But their setup for synology NAS has been really spotty and stopped working all together now. Many of their links on the website and in their guides are dead but the worst thing is:

You can only contact them by making a "Ticket". This time even the links in their response email, to the ticket doesn't work (its dead)

When they dont answer, you´re lost.
I have 9 months back on my subscription and i will have to buy VPN another place becasue of this.

I Cannot recommend this company :(

* PS. You have to choose "Date of experience" but this has been more than once.

Have been a customer since 2018, this year the automatical renewal messed up, billed me but but renewed for last year again.
Money is gone, program is unusable; no comunication 10 days laterat all after sending two customer requests.

The best thing: My account doesn´t even give me the ability to cancel the subscriptiom

I have followed all of the instructions in the support page and contacted customer service multiple times about canceling my account and havent received a response. I feel trapped into paying for this app.

I didn't want to continue my trial, so I emailed them immediately, but no response, been trying to get in touch since November with no luck. I still have not used the service as I want to cancel my annual subscription. Would not even recommend this to my worst enemy

WHATS HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM HMA?
Been using HMA for 4 years and over all I'm very happy with the connection and speed of the servers that I've been using. My subscription was getting ready to expire and I sent 5 emails to then asking what will the cost of my next subscription and never got a reply. I decided tried so many ways to contact the via the online help box, emails to support but never get a reply, just a automated reply email saying they will get back to me soon, Never do.
Anyone else having the same issues with contacting HMA.

I asked not to renew my subscription. They went ahead and did it anyway. I have sent EIGHT requests over three weeks and nothing. I will NEVER use them again.

totally no, this is scam service

I have been using HMA for the past two years but of late they have become completely useless. Namely, even when I set the VPN to a certain country, streaming services are able to detect that I’m not in that country. So what am I paying HMA for? Unfortunately, I still have a year to go on my contract with them 🙄

PS: yes I have cleared my cache, cookies, restarted the browser etc etc… HMA simply does not work.

I made an order and there was an option to provide a EU VAT ID so I could pay VAT in my country. But the amount never changed. If I knew the amount is not lowered then I would have not given my VAT number because now I pay tax twice - once to the seller and once to my country. I emailed them 2 times but received no response. Edit: problem was resolved.

The VPN is ok if you search something easy to use. Anyway I use it for work - as a developer - and I need to test traffic from different part of the world, the results are quite bad. A lot of IPs are not the ones of the country in use. Some of the time the IPs are in another continents - ex. UAE are in CZ. So for me is useless. Hope it helps.

HMA vpn is a scam. I mailed them 3 times and they have never returned. I also tried one month of service but it didnt work so I requested a refund and they didnt reply to that either.

They refunded my money some time later.

Useless service! Like all other reviews, just take your money elsewhere

I used a competitor and it started out fine but then they added more and more crap, constant updates and their two-factor authentication was a nightmare. A new neighbor suggested HMA so I tried it. Easy to use. I get to specify where in the U.S. I am connecting through and the connection process is easy. The connection for streaming is a little slow at times, particularly evenings. I'll have to wait until football season before you get the fifth star.

Have been using HMA for a while. Just wanted to make a change to the one I'm used to. Well, cannot say it's worse. Pretty mush satisfied! From my point of you a very good VPN.
