10/10 - best garage in Brighton and Hove. I hadn’t heard of HiQ until my car broke down late on a Sunday night and the RAC driver recommended it. I’d recently had a bad experience at my usual garage, so I sceptically agreed to be towed here. Glad I did, because HiQ will be my go-to in future.

By 10am Monday morning, they’d totally gone over the car, diagnosed the problem, and noted a few other bits to monitor / repair if I wanted. Unfortunately, but as suspected, my gearbox was the issue and needed replacing, so was a big repair and not something I’d budgeted for after only buying the car a couple of months ago (lesson learned!). The lady in the office (whose name I didn’t get - sorry!!) and manager Steve were both SO helpful and understanding. I wasn’t sure if it was even worth repairing the car but they talked me through my options, without pressuring me into making any decisions - which is always a worry going to any new garage, especially alone as a young woman.

After deliberating for a few days, I decided to go ahead and get a refurbished gearbox with warranty. The courier got delayed, meaning I’d be without a car over the weekend (really my fault for taking so long to decide) but HiQ sorted me out with a nice courtesy car. It’s a busy garage - obviously a testament to their reputation - but the new gearbox was delivered on Monday afternoon, and my car was ready the next morning.

The work was very reasonably priced, and they went above and beyond - which was extra nice because must I have been a difficult customer (sorry again). Car has been going well now for the couple of weeks and few hundred miles since I’ve had it back. Thank you Steve and HiQ team 🙏

My MOT and full service were carried out very efficiently and with good communications. All the staff that I deal with were friendly and helpful and they have got a new customer who will use them again.

I had a couple of logistical problems and was a little doubtful of that the young person that I spoke to would really be able to help......I worried for no reason at all. To put my mind at rest, Noah called me directly the MOT had gone through on my beloved but ancient car (2007). My car was delivered and returned to me at very little cost. All was explained in language I could understand rather than 'mechanic speak'
I am totally impressed and highly recommend this company.

Steve and Noah (and there was one another receptionist whom I can't remember his name) were very professional but personal in their dealings with me and my old 2002 Renault Master.

I had tried to get other mechanics and companies to look at the Renault's problems, but because of it's age they couldn't help me.

HIQ are top of the range with their prices, but with the quality and speediness of their services, it was worth it.

There is a bit of gruffness about Steve the manager, but I think this comes with the job of managing a tight workshop atmosphere.

If you can't find someone to fix your problems, then give Steve and his crew a bell at HIQ!

Honest friendly service from the staff. They gave me a detailed explanation of the problem and what they had done to resolve it.

Polite, friendly and efficient. No hassle at all for an MOT, full service and wet belt replacement. Great job! Highly recommend.

Took my car in for a bit of everything – new wiper linkage and timing, aerial and base replacement, oil leak check, and tyre repairs. It was like a spa day for the car!

Went to Hiq yesterday and I can't rate the company high enough, very friendly staff, didn't do any work that wasn't needed. The online booking service was really easy to use and got an appointment for the following day My car went in for one tyre change and that is all that was carried out. Very quick, efficient, reliable and reasonably priced too, and will not hesitate to use them again if needed. Highly recommend Thank you

I took the car not really knowing what the fault was. Guys spent time trying to find the problem, found it, fixed it and only charged for half hours labour. They were honest quick and reliable

Booked my MOT online, received a phone call to confirm my appointment. My car was in and out within 2 hours. Smooth, efficient and easy service. As well as friendly faces who make you feel at ease :) For a young woman these experiences can be quite intimidating but I didn’t feel like that at all. Will definitely be returning in the future!
