I was grateful for the support I was given when I phoned for help. I was treated respectfully and calmly. The help given was just what I needed.

Excellent assistance received over the phone when trying to transfer investments into HL from elsewhere.

The quality of the Secure Message service lets you down. I recently had three rounds of message exchange all telling me things I knew but not telling me that they could not arrange a Sale and that I had to go online to sell the funds. I also think you could make it easier to exercise a sale as I had to phone in to get guidance how to arrange this whilst on line. Deal obviously only means buy - not what it says on the tin!

I have two complaints. First the excessively high charges you are imposing to maintain one’s account compared to other providers, not justifiable in my opinion. Second the tortuous digital process I have encountered recently in trying to open a cash ISA and transfer money from a Stock and Share ISA account to a cash ISA, extremely difficult to navigate, requiring help on the telephone. Surely it can be simplified.

I deal with two big-name companies for my pensions. At one it seems to take forever to answer the phone, when they eventually pick up they say they are too busy to handle my query and will call me back. Then they don't call. The second is Hargreaves Lansdown - I call, they pick up, I tell them what want and it's done in 5 minutes. I plan to move my pensions to just one company, guess which?

It is vital that you maintain the personal element of contact as I value greatly the ability to talk to a well trained, intelligent person at the end of a telephone.
I do not like the way many businesses are focusing so much on electronic communication. On that theme, fewer emails should be considered by you. I want a professional relationship and don't need to be bombarded .

Having recently hiked their fees, I decided to move my daughters JISA to a new provider on 2/3/26 This was a process that should take no longer than 30 Calendar days as per the UK gov website (transferring your isa)
Hargreaves performance with such a fundamental process has been abysmal with the transfer still incomplete.
Firstly, they failed to act on a request from my new provider sent on 24/3 to settle a fund as nobody picked up the email! This was only identified by HL today after the new provider chased HL again to action the request, so that the transfer could be completed. Consequently, I could not trade on this fund in my new account.
Secondly, I asked them in mid March to transfer the cash ASAP so that I could take advantage of the market dip. Again, whilst HL confirmed by msg on 14/3 that this was passed to the relevant team, it was not (and has still not) been actioned by HL and so I could not invest and in doing so, missed a 5% rally in the FTSE.
As I write this on 17/4/26, the transfer has still not been finalised, having passed the 1/4/26 deadline. I can still not trade, as there is no cash in the new providers account, despite me raising this request repeatedly via messages over the past month. What is more concerning is that executing client instructions is a fundamental business process for an asset manager/broker, which was not done on two separate occasions here. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS
I have raised a complaint with HL and I'm still awaiting a reply.

When I retired 2014 I put the 25% cash from pensions into stocks and shares isa mixture of managed and picked. HL software enabled me to keep close eye on these. Even better when app was introduced. I recently had another pension I wanted enhancement on and HL helped me get best rate offers from 3 providers sorted everything out. Site enables me to pick savings products easily and move money around quickly. 4 levels of security, help on the phone if you get confused great service. Highly recommend!

You are not very good. Your website doesn’t display shares information as it should. I have often raised it and it has been ignored and also it is getting worse

Your advisor that I talked to regarding a top up of my existing Isa was very helpful and polite, I was a bit dissapointed that I was unable to add any more money to my Isa as it would have been nice to keep it all with you.

I don't know who in their right mind would use HL in 2026. I have been with HL for over 5 years, but today, they are not standing up to the competition. Crazy fees and a terrible digital experience. But how they handled transferring my ISA out to another provider was atrocious! They literally did everything they could possibly do to make it as difficult and as long as possible. My partner's experience is even worse. Stay away, there are many and much better options out there!

Clunky and unnecessarily bureaucratic.
Nothing about the process of opening up a junior isa for my son has been easy. I’ve decided to go with another provider due to multiple misunderstandings and delays. 3 weeks just to get a pin due to someone not sending the first one then 2 turning up, then neither working, now changing the name on the account has become impossible.
Thank you, no thank you. Goodbye

Stocks & Shares ISA fees up 333%, SIPP fees up and then 'Active Savings' - took nearly one week to open my account - so lost interest - and then the account reduced interest rate - BUT - same account for new investors paying Higher interest - not very 'active' in my opinion.
Called H-L today - totally disinterested - 'you're good to leave' = zero loyalty after 25 years - AJ Bell much more transparent and less costs.
The fee changes appear to favour those with less invested / younger people - but perhaps H-L have not factored in the opportunity costs of moving SIPP into drawdown and the fees they earn from that
