hmv (UK) - Chester Reviews 

Great. Order came in quickly, but with no signage in the store as to where to pick up orders, we went downstairs, only to be told the order pick up point is upstairs. The queue lane was cluttered with merchandise, which meant a wheelchair user, through no fault of his own, blocked the exit queue.

Chester store staff were very knowledgable, friendly, efficient. One BluRay I wanted had to be ordered on the Tuesday I attended and I received it by post at home on the Thursday without delivery charges. Outstanding. The second BluRay was apparently in store somewhere but took some finding ( those pesky customers have a habit of picking an item up, looking at it then abandoning it pretty much anywhere!!😖😖) anyway both lads working that day trawled the displays until they found me a copy. Buried under some nonsense that I would never have looked at.

The package came ahead of time. it was well packaged.100% recommends

So happy to get to walk into an actual shop for a proper browse. We’ve really missed your store in Llandudno!
Staff very friendly and knowledgeable as always. And very helpful too, assisting us to find what we were looking for (and having a movie-chat of course!)

The delivery was very quick and I was kept up to date at every step of the way. Thank you HMV.

Went in hmv chester to get my blu ray and not only where the staff polite and helpful it was quick to get when I got to till

Went in to HMV Chester to order a DVD that wasn't in store.
Was greeted and looked after by a chap called Andy.
Collected the DVD a few days ago and Andy dealt with me, again.
Very polite and professional, a credit to the business.
Retail businesses are losing a lot of good staff.
A refreshing change to be looked after by someone like Andy.

Item arrived early, so happy 😁

Went to the Chester store recently, Lady on the till was very nice and friendly helped me find what i was looking for which luckily was the last one in stock. made the trip, Wish i had got her name it was sunday around 2pm.

Staff offered to order CD but would have been better to offer delivery to house.

my 1921 hmv journey...
I'm an avid Gary Numan Fan,so when I
saw you guys were doing a special release of Numan's Exile lp on grey vinyl,I was ready to shoot down to HMV and buy it,no matter the price,so the day came so I drove to the HMV in Chester(40 miles away),parked up and went to the store,as I arrived I joined the queue of approx 30 people,not that many I thought to myself,everyone in the queue was approached by a staff member passing out a sheet of paper with a list of what was on offer,as the staff member got me,i said i'm only after one!! "ooh which one??I was asked,I answered the numan lp...the staff member said,i'll go and see,seconds later he came back and told me,they only received one copy and that was gone already...so i said thanks anyway,and muttered something like,well that was a waste of time...I was in the queue for less than 2 minutes.....despair..
fast forward to the latest debacle...i wasnt going to go and waste my money or time doing that again,so when i saw available from 4pm online.I joined the notification process and waited till 4pm.....I started seeing it on ebay for ludicrous start prices from as early as 1pm,so I wasnt hopeful...4pm came and was put in a queue being told that there were 1968 people in front of me...so I watched it count down,it got to 168 then everyone in the queue was put on hold,this lasted 7 to 8 minutes,then all of a sudden I
was in...found the numan lp ordered it,went to pay,double checked details and thats when it all went tits up,blank screens,spinning icons,then it timed out (obviously the system was overloaded) I tried refreshing constantly,but alas no joy,I was doomed to failure again...that last process of paying before I stopped trying lasted for just under 55 mins...so thats 0 for 2 now....Do me a favour DON'T do anymore Gary Numan
limited releases please...
I used to love HMV,the whole episode just leaves a bitter taste

The young lady in the store was very helpful and dealt my request.

I love the stock offering and the staff were really helpful and ordered online what they didn't carry.
My only problem was that they didn't get my delivery address right. I pointed this out in the store and then returned 5 minutes later when I looked at the order slip.
The guy at the till was busy and said he would correct it .
However emails showing delivery details still had the incorrect address.
I landed up having to go to the neighbouring farm to ask them to receive it for me.

Well packaged and good info re delivery
