General advice about buying a static cover van anyway not just about HOLGATES. My relatives lost a lot when they had to sell up after 3 years. I worked in caravan sales for 2 yrs …. The worst investment on the planet … the company I worked for it was sold as a lifestyle for you … not a money making machine … loses more value than a new car year in yr and your stuck on a site and can’t do anything other than sell it back to the company or pay thousands to take it off site ! With nowhere to take it as other sites won’t take it …. AVOID. The Holgates site is well cared for but the main man is ruthless (he’ll love reading that btw). Avoid buying a static anywhere, not just here.

No joining fee for the gym, it seems expensive, but less than some others. You can enrol month by month and don't have to give notice to leave unlike others. There are no consessions for age or off-peak use and no discount for signing up for a year. The gym and pool is quieter later on, mid-week, but as the primary business is the caravan park, it's busy at school holiday times. There's a good range of machines which seem fairly new and well-maintained. Changing is mixed, in cubicles and busy at weekends.

There is piped music in the pool and gym, which is irritating, I doubt anyone listens. Some staff lack confidence and knowledge but are generally very helpful.

Hi We. Stayed at Silverdale Holiday Park.
I reported the showers to the reception. That they only stay on for 20sec. She said she would report this but nothing was done for our stay. I checked 5 are 6 in 2 different shower blocks and they were all the same. I spoke to my sister this morning and she said they were the same when they stayed there. Looks like this has been a long-term problem. I stayed on £20 night sites with better showers. Even the showers in the pool area weren't much better. I thought I would shower in them to find they were the same only stayed on for 20 seconds. This will definitely stop me from coming to the site again. As this would be ashame as we loved the location and the pool area. Apart from the showers.

Great service, shout out for Tom Atkinson who was so helpful on our first trip out in our camper can.

We stayed at the Silverdale site and enjoyed their super facilities.

Really clean and tidy, great place to take children although we did not have any with us.

Lovely food served by friendly staff.
