This was a nightmare from beginning to…
This was a nightmare from beginning to end and the French parent company have compounded the issue. We ordered bedroom units from the shop in Altrincham. What followed was a catalogue of errors including the 'designer' measuring the units wrongly, parts being delivered in the wrong sizes, the wrong colours, and long delays for replacements. The fitters made many visits and went away frustrated. We were left with partly finished units, bits strewn about the room, and an unusable bedroom for weeks on end. the fitters did return and nearly got the work finished apart for some snagging and we withheld the final payment until it was fixed. I spoke to the shop manager and designer a number of times and compensation was promised for all the hassle. Finally all went quiet and we subsequently found out the shop had gone into administration. We had to chase up with the parent company in France. After further delay they said they would do nothing until the final payment was made and only then would they get someone to come from another branch and sort the outstanding issues. They explained, via the manager of the other shop, that each shop is a separate business and they are not responsible if that business fails. There was mention of the administrator for the failed business. I pointed out that if I were to agree to pay outstanding funds to a third party the administrator may not be impressed, and I'm not sure it would be legal? Seemed to me to be one 'creditor' bypassing the system? All in all an extremely poor experience made worse by the lack of assistance from the parent company.

We had this awful experience with Cocina Schmidt in Torrevieja, Spain, probably a Spanish franchise shop.
The whole project is a total disaster, cost a fortune for us.
We have ordered a totally new and big kitchen, a built-in staircase, a bathroom furniture.
There are NOT even a single part which is perfect or functioning perfectly or properly.
When we ordered the kitchen they have promised evething, since then we made many reclamations but the answer is always the same: it is the FAULT of the Company, they can NOT do anything.
I can attach the photos of the problems and the awful quality.
We had NO kitchen for months, we were waiting for the parts (minimum 12 weeks from the order time, it suddenly became 18 weeks, because of a holiday, a missing part, ALWAYS something…).
The entire assembly took almost a full 4 months. We didn't have a kitchen until 4 months at all.
We tried to ask the store manager for an appointment to tell her about our problems and complain, but the employees did not let us near tothe boss. The boss refused to meet us or talk to us, never called us back. Unacceptable.
As well as the entire session, the assembly, the defective, damaged goods.
We spent a lot of money on the kitchen, stairs, chairs and bathroom furniture but we are not happy and satisfied.
The snow-white chairs that we ordered for the dining room turned black in a few months, according to the factory, this is normal.
The bathroom furniture was converted from a normal basic furniture, simply cut out. When the drawer was cut out, the wood was not sealed, the water is flowing in there, it will swell up, and it will be ruined. They don't know what to do with it, they think it is also the factory's fault because it was sent that way.
We think it was cut here in the warehouse (photo attached).
The counter of the bathroom furniture is not sealed, it has been applied with some yellow glue, it dissolves every time when you wash your hands. Disguasting.
We have asked for a quality control, they think everything is fine.
We asked for a financial compensation, they didn't even answer it.
They think that everything is perfect.
The skirt in the kitchen is falling off daily... it's all a mess. (sorry, but there is a limit).
We are not only disappointed but angry also.
IF we had the energy, we would throw everything away and rebuild it, but we have no time, no money, or energy left for that.
In summary: if you want to be completely nervous and disappointed because of the constant problems, as well as if you want to buy a BAD quality at an expensive price and constantly feel that you are the problematic customer, then choose Cocina Schmidt
in Torrevieja.
Pretty sure that everything will be promised until you pay the full amount. After that no one will care about your problems, you will become the problematic customer and blame yourself for being so naive. Because you believed in the German name and hoped for the promised quality for your money.
You were wrong. Take care.

Shocking - Kitchen & Dressing Room 12 months late
Buyers beware, Schmidt HQ make it very clear on their documentation that if you have any issues with their dealerships/franchise owners they have no obligation to deal with any customer complaint. Schmidt France customer services are rude and unhelpful, and they do not vet their dealerships enough certainly in the UK as the Guildford branch has finally been closed down due to the owner being incompetent and unfit to trade. If you have the patience to follow any complaint through there are some decent people within the UK that will support any rogue behaviour, but I'm sure any dealership that is not fit to trade will hedge their bets you will give up any complaint made. The product is really good, just get customer testimonials before you transact with a UK dealer.

Designer was passionate about design and the product and gave me ideas that really made me think as to the functionality of my kitchen . It was so important to feel part of a process and I don't feel rushed and I'm excited to see how the design develops. I would highly recommend the designer and the company 😊
