Schmidt Reading. The pre-sale service was fine and the quality of units is good. The post-sale support is horrible. All calls result in either 'we'll call you back...' - and don't. Or why don't you call xxxxxxxx.
If you want to buy a Schmidt kitchen, don't buy it from Reading.

Schmidt Kitchens - Hampstead Garden Showroom
Horribly disappointed. Ours is a new build and we are eligible to claim back VAT. The company charged us VAT and are now not providing us a VAT Invoice. Not only that, they are not answering our emails and recorded delivery letters. Even Schmidt France is ignoring our emails. We were quoted £1,900 including VAT for installation and £3,350 including VAT for worktop. At the time of installation, they requested for £1,900 to be paid in cash.
DESIGN FAULT:
The Hampstead/Barnet showroom designed our kitchen without due care. Units on two walls did not match. Our American style fridge/freezer and microwave oven units are so close that they they cannot be opened properly. The designer failed to ensure that the extractor is suitable for our use in terms of space and installation. The unit under the gas was crudely cut and expected us to accept it. We made a fuss when a somewhat good finishing was done. Though it is not the finish one should be expected to accept after spending £25K.
Before starting installation due care was not taken to ensure plumbing, gas and electricals were in order.
Due to the fact that they had messed up the installation, we were offered free of charge correction to the utilities only to go back on their word on gas connection.
Our agreement was to supply a modern (WiFi) appliance but even after 9 months we were supplied a different model without our consent and taking payment before supply.
Last but not the least our agreement is breached by not signing off the kitchen supply and installation.
Service in Nice. Specially LAURENCE LAENNE as manager
I made an order in Schmidt for house in Italy. I worked with LAURENCE LAENNE as a project manager of Schmidt. I paid 15.000 euro for this kitchen.
At the day kitchen arrived the plate was not arrived!!! And no one told us that. It was not arrived and that's it. We had to order it by ourselves last minute.
Second think which was incredible: they installed our orange kitchen but colors was different! Different orange!!!! Can you imagine? You buy kitchen and they install you different colors kitchen??? They finished to work at 22 pm. I saw it and was shocked!
The person who installed said yes sorry but colors are really different cal to LAURENCE LAENNE. We called and her husband answered!!!!! He was screaming and said ever call here and also many impolite words to me... So we will definitely find general manager and will solve it. And madame LAURENCE LAENNE took money and just disappeare. Such a shame LAURENCe LAENNE...
Important to say that we like quality of kitchens Schmidt. The problem here is service. As they mixed smth with colors and LAURENCe LAENNE did not send us all equipment.
No Support from Schmidt Head Office in France
In total I paid £51,000 pound for a kitchen that was supplied and fitted by Schmidt Reading (UK). The kitchen unit I purchased was of the ‘’Glamour Unit’’ (the most expensive range in their showroom). When Schmidt Reading installed the kitchen to my shock and horror the corner kitchen unit was of a different colour (and did not match the rest of the kitchen units). The owner/Managing Director (Alan Garlick) agreed to replace the corner kitchen unit and said it was a mistake by their Head Office. When the replacement was sent by Schmidt Head Office to my shock again it was not of the same colour as the rest of the kitchen units. Schmidt Reading are now refusing to change the corner kitchen unit to same colour (and now claiming they made me aware of this when I purchased the kitchen which is a lie) and match of the rest of my units (please see attached pictures).
The installation done by Schmidt Kitchens was also shocking (please see attached pictures). Schmidt Reading fitted the kitchen ceiling lights and then caused significant damage to my kitchen ceiling and they are not willing to repair (please see attached picture) even though it says in their contract they must do so. Also please see pictures of how they have left the walls and not fixed them.
Also the Kitchen unit was agreed to be fitted and installed by end of January 2020. To my frustration and disappointment, it took them until October to complete the installation (10 months later than what was agreed).
