Frances looked after me very well, from start to finish. Listened to everything I wanted and made suggestions for things I hadn't thought of.
I had the misfortune to purchase a Verve design Phoenix plate spotlight from the Moor Allerton store in Leeds, bad mistake. I ordered the light on-line and received an email saying it was ready for collection. It's approximately twenty five minutes in the car to the store so went over the following day as l was in the middle of wallpapering the room where l wanted to put the light. After collecting it l opened the box and thought it looked simple enough to put up - which it should have been, I consider myself to be an average DIY'er and couldn't see any particular problems - how wrong was l. After taking down the old spot light (it had been there for many years and had seen better days) l found that the screws for the new new mounting plate for the new light fitted in the mounting of the old plate and thought that was a bit of luck, no drilling necessary, brilliant. But that's where the luck ran out. The electrical block is situated next to the rim of the plate making it difficult to connect the wires but after some expletives managed to sort it. Then things went rapidly downhill. The spotlight plate itself is fastens to the ceiling by a central threaded 'bolt' which threads into to the fixing mount (already attached) so the bolt can be extended down through an oblong shaped hole in the spotlight plate to secure the fitment via a nut and decorative internally threaded kernel. The bolt seemed to be glued to the mounting plate and wouldn't turn by finger pressure alone, so....the whole thing needed to come down - more expltives. It was at this point l looked at the fitting instructions, yes - should have read them before starting, but have put up many lights over the years and have never read the instructions for any of them. However it wouldn't have made any difference in this case because there wasn't any mention of the dreaded 'threaded bolt'. At this point it was tea time...two hours after starting, so that was that for then and of course her who must be obeyed was totally shocked that it wasn't sorted, think she thought l was keeping out the way.! Joking, but she knows a simple thing like fitting a ceiling light doesn't take that long. A fresh mind and a new day brought little joy with the Phoenix plate spotlight as l sprayed the dreaded threaded bolt with my trusty WD40, leading to early morning expltives as it was solid being, as l thought, glued to the mounting frame. So, wrapping a small piece of cloth around the threads got a pair of pliers on the job and eventually it moved. But the joy of defeating the dreaded threaded bolt soon lead to disbelief as after refitting the mounting plate to the ceiling and rewiring the thing again, the dreaded threaded bolt had the last laugh as it was too short to protrude through the spotlight plate therefore the the securing nut couldn't be attached, and nowhere near long enough to screw on the fancy kernel. The expltives were coming thick and fast as l removed it all again - who designed such a load of defunct rubbish. Her who must be obeyed wasn't happy as the planned wallpapering event had to be put on hold while l stormed off on my twenty five minute drive back to Homebase at Moor Allerton. The two chaps at the click and collect were very understanding as l ranted on about the dreaded threaded bolt, one of them twiddled with it and l think he eventually got the jist of what l was saying. We'll have to let our manager have a look at it he said as the refund was arranged - it will take seven days to return to your account. All l can say is that £25 had better be returned within seven days regardless of what the manager says, he needs to get a grip of the rubbish his store is selling.

We used Homebase for the kitchen after seeing the good job of my parents in Plymouth. Very pleased, so when the opportunity arose for a new bathroom went back to see Frances again. She doesn’t disappoint and we’ve ordered a new bathroom. From design to completion the process is simple and always a friendly quick reply if any questions were asked.
Really helpful team in the Moor Allerton store in Leeds.
Guided me through every step while purchasing a new kitchen, Frances was excellent throughout!
Things I ordered were ready to collect the morning after I went on line.
Ordered paint online everything arrived on time and intact delivery man was very helpful
Efficient, on time, delivered undamaged by friendly and helpful delivery driver willing to carry the heavy boxes to wherever they had to be, lovely chair-settee, comfy and just what I needed. Online description was accurate. Really pleased with whole experience.
I Went to the Moor Allerton Leeds branch of Homebase to buy a bag of postfix
After waiting in the queue
The senior citizen on the Till told me couldn’t take my £20 note as he didn’t have float in his till to complete the sale
So he cancelled the sale and told me to go pay
at the customer services desk instead
I can’t believe that the first till assistant in a company the size of Homebase cannot organise his till float sufficiently to conduct his business
There were four staff in the immediate vicinity and all seemed to have a couldn’t care less attitude
Seems like the staff think that a customer has nothing better to do than run around different
Next time I will go to B&Q instead tills in the store to see if one can completea purchase

Having driven 50 minutes to collect a click and collect, we found the item to be cracked and faulty as we were loading it in the car. As there were no others available in store, we left empty handed. A full refund was given, but no other compensation was offered. Very disappointing and we are reluctant to re order the product, in case the same happens.

I ordered on line, after finding something I liked , to be picked up at the store. Quick and simple. Then when I went to collect it, the young lady who served me was brilliant. Asked if I needed help and made sure I was okay. I needed something else while I was there, again she was very helpful. Fantastic service, well pleased with the young lady.

Used click and collect for a light fitting. Had been to the shop to see the light first - it would have been nice to see a staff member to be able to ask questions.
Collection from the store was efficient enough.
I wanted some Farrow and Ball paint having bought the expensive tester pots from Homebase. When I came to buy the paint, the majority of the paint I required (that you sold me the tester pots for) you did not have in stock and some of it you said was discontinued yet you still sold me an utterly useless tester pot for it! It took over half an hour to order the paint I needed and you were not able to give me a date when it would be delivered to store. Overall, I couldn't recommend anyone to buy their paint from Homebase as they just don't have the basics covered. Utterly disorganised.
