I had ordered a couple of items from HD on line as well as a product from the Newmarket store. The online products arrived without incident, although the communications on the delivery was abse... See more

I arranged to have a contractor from…
I arranged to have a contractor from Home Depot Calgary to come to my house to give me an estimate for installing several closet doors. I was given a list of installers by staff (as I intend to buy the doors from this store) and I was shortly contacted by Contractor who said in an email that he would very much like to have the installation job. He asked that I send pictures and measurements. I expected that the installer would come to the house to take measurements, which he then agreed to do. When he came to the house he took pictures of all the closets and even looked in a closet in a separate room which already had doors. He also took measurements, then asked if I could take further photos of the closets, saying his phone had died. After he left, I did not hear from him and even though he has been messaged, as to the estimated cost, the date he could start, how much deposit is required, etc., I have not received any response. I tried looking him up and found he is claiming to be on the board of a business and has a few university degrees, so I was wondering why such a person would need to be installing doors for Home Depot.
My question is: is this man a legitimate contact of Home Depot? Do they vet the people who apply to be on their list? Or was he just "casing" the house?
I thought I bought a new stove from…
I thought I bought a new stove from Home Depot in Edmonton 8but I got a used and refurbished one. I could have gone to kijiji or garage sale to buy one if I knew. The salesperson specified that we should call in 48 hrs of delivery for any defects. I got my stove delivered and since I was not home when it arrived, it was well over a few days that I noticed the defect, you can visually see the defects. When I called them a few days later, Home Depot says I have to live with the refurbished stove because I missed the 48hrs leeway. I will think twice about buy 'NEW' appliances at Home Depot locations now. I will warn family members too.
Going The Extra Mile(Rodney&Troy)
On Sat. Jan. 17th 2026 went to Home Depot (Stockyard) St. Clair & Keele. I wasn't clear on what specific snake to rent for the clog in my kitchen. After meeting Rodney and Troy at Home Depot, they SAVED my LIFE!!!! They took their dedicated time to ensure I was rented the correct snake K-45 for my clog. THANK YOU RODNEY & TROY for your diligent expertise to help me solve my problem. Thank you Rodney and Troy for GOING the EXTRA MILE!!!!
Horrible experience shopping at this…
Horrible experience shopping at this home depot in Toronto, the products I bought were defective and couldn't return them because the store said it was final sale but the product never worked to begin with
Delivery and removal doesn't get appliances out of the house.
Went to HD to purchase a new washer and dryer. Found a suitable set, started the paper work. When we discussed delivery, the extra fees started, including an extra $80 just to stack the dryer on the washer. Then the sales person tells us that we have to unstack the old laundry pair. I'm a senior, and I'm not picking up a dryer. The charges were excessive and the ridiculous notion that my 70 year old wife and I should wrestle appliances when the delivery men stand watching is a deal breaker. Find a Canadian retailer that ain't HD.
We worked with two agents
We worked with two agents, Scott and Andrew. Both asked us if we needed help as we were discussing a purchase. We explained what we were looking for and that we couldn't seem to find it on the shelf. Turned out that the item and line had been discontinued. But they encouraged us to give them a couple of minutes and they went somewhere and returned with the very discontinued stock items we were looking for. They were VERY helpful and went above and beyond to assist us. They could have just said, "Oh, that has been discontinued", but they didn't. They went back and looked to see if there was any remaining items and returned with what they found. It was perfect and we really appreciate their effort.
Painless shopping
Due to renovations in my home I have spent quite a bit of time in Home Dept, all 3 locations in London, Ontario.
I arranged my cupboard refacing through the Wonderland location. I also went there to purchase my appliances, and Randall was the best. I already wrote a review about him.
Yesterday I was at the Clarke Road location for hardware, sink, range hood etc. Anna, in kitchen design, was fantastic, she helped me so much. It was almost her time to finish work but she didn’t rush me at all or pass me to someone else. She was friendly, and so helpful. Hannah, at checkout, was also very friendly and helpful. She got someone to help me take my purchases to my car. There was lots of snow and pushing a cart would have been horrible for me.
I have a home depot five minutes from my house but I have not run into anyone there like in Clarke location.
I ordered a washing machine online
I ordered a washing machine online. An email confirmed that it would be delivered in two weeks. I was to receive a phone call the evening before the delivery confirming a time. I never received a phone call but did receive an email confirming the delivery time to be 3:15 pm. I didn’t realize at this time that my phone number on my Home Depot account was an old number so that’s definitely my fault. But I don’t know that they ever attempted to call me. At 12:20 I was at work and saw their delivery truck at my house on my security cameras . I didn’t get home in time to meet them and they left with my washing machine. I immediately phoned their head office in an attempt to catch the truck before it left the area. I was told they were long gone and wouldn’t schedule another delivery for another week. I had no alternative but to cancel the order. I’ve been two weeks without a washing machine and I can’t wait another week. It’s frustrating that these stores have models on display but you can’t buy them there and take them home. Home Depot cancelled my order and said I would receive my refund in a couple of days. I then received an email saying they have charged my credit card for $92.38 for restocking charges. They failed to tell me that on the phone. That’s just being deceitful. This is just a frustrating experience. Another example of companies that don’t truly care about customer service. Enjoy your $92.38 Home Depot. That’s the last time I’ll deal with you. I’ll find a store that actually has inventory that I can purchase and take home with me.
If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. To start with, the kitchen measurements were completely wrong. Living in a condo, I was stuck with useless parts while the correct ones had to be reordered and put back into production—a process that took three months, which should have been treated as a priority.
The contractor they assigned was extremely unprofessional. An 80-square-meter condo took over a month to complete basic work: painting, flooring, bathrooms (without even changing the shower), and a small galley kitchen. This is completely unacceptable.
Materials were repeatedly delivered with missing parts, causing constant delays and additional stress. The lack of coordination, accountability, and quality control was astonishing.
I would strongly advise anyone to look elsewhere. Any other contractor or supplier would be a better choice than Home Depot.
Absolutely awful experience
Absolutely awful experience.
Wasted days off work because they schedule install wrong. Delivery from a different company and they don't talk to each other. Installer came and was uncomfortable to install a dishwasher. Have to get a plumber to come in.
Dealing with customer service for 2 week, wasted 4h on a phone and multiple days off work.
In the world of consumerism
In the world of consumerism, customers have the obligation to report good and bad services to keep large corporations in check. After a poor delivery experience with Home Depot, I was dumbfounded by their lack of customer service. Delivery agent made bogus suggestions on how to deal with unsuccessful installation which differed from customer rep recommendations. A total waste of time and money. They don’t have a clue about customer service. I would say i would not recommend their services, and I will never purchase from therm again.
Poor performance by marquee 1coat paintI have been buying marquee ONE COAT…
I have been buying marquee ONE COAT paint for years and was always willing to travel a couple hours to get this product BUT this last can of paint was TWO-THREE COATS to get a decent coat. I can appreciate the fact that if the previous paint was a dark color it wouldn’t cover as well(can’t expect miracles) but my previous paint was silver mist. (A light grey). I can’t honestly recommend your product if this is what you are selling. Your firm has changed the ingredients of this product. Not stick as it was before and not the coverage that it proclaims. Sad to say I will not be going out of my way for this product again. Btw I would like a refund for such poor performing paint

Delivery issues
Ordered an upright online. Delivery took over 6 weeks. Received notice it would be delivered but never came. Spoke with customer service and said would come next day. Arrived at 8:30 pm on a Saturday-not within the window.
2) Order a small freezer online. Was told it would not charge my credit card until delivered. That was the first lie. Never came on stated delivery date. Multiple calls to Home Depot because after I paid for delivery, tracking stated later that it would be left outside. Called the carrier multiple times as well as Home Depot when a week after expected delivery, it hadn’t come and was in fact sitting in Ontario for over a week. Said it would come “sometime” the next week. Most people work and can’t sit at home hoping for a delivery “sometime”. Called Home Depot again and promised a phone call which never came. Called them again and told it had been escalated to the highest level. Told it may come the next day if they sent an email to Day and Ross that day. If not it would be another week. Customer agent said many problems with that company and delivery. Also told me I hadn’t paid for it because my payment was declined which was not true as not only had it gone through my card but my card was paid off as well. When he checked, he found it had cleared as I had said but no apology given. As it turns out, the freezer was delivered that same day and Home Depot had no idea and luckily someone was home however the delivery guy had to talked into putting it in the basement as ordered. Lesson is NEVER ORDER FROM HOME DEPOT. By the way I kept notes of all calls and conversations and told my info wasn’t true as not in their notes! As a experienced note taker , not only was it true but they basically said I was a liar
Home Depot Canada - DO NOT Shop Here!!!!!
Home Depot Canada does not take care of their customers.
I have been dealing with them for a year trying to get my floor replaced after their countertop installer damaged it. Home Depot will not resolve the issue as they have passed it off to their insurance company. I've dealt with the owner of the installation company (Cutting Edge Countertops in Lindsay ON) who was a bully and was pressuring me into using his 'Friend' to fix the floor so he would get a deal. The owner is on record admitting guilt and stated that he would replace the floor but to date has not done anything. Home Depot will not help me. I've contacted the President of Home Depot and I've been told they don't deal with insurance issues. I've cancelled my Home Depot credit card and I now shop at Home Hardware, which is a Canadian store. Shop Canadian because Home Depot doesn't care about you.
Scam Gift Cards
Home Depot considers my file closed and I am satified with their "resolution". I received a $300 "gift card" in return for 5 of my $100 cards being empty. However, I am disappointed that I am not going to receive any money for all the "empty" cards. I'm under the impression that the cards are loaded through Home Depot. So therefore, just because I had 2 cards that were empty doesn't mean I spent the money (since it was your employee who scratched the cards to expose the numbers). The cards were separated from the other plastic pieces at the Hamilton Mountain Home Depot by the employees there, who were trying to get the cards to work, they must have disposed of that part of the card. I received $700 worth of cards from my coworkers 4 yrs ago. They did not provide me with the receipt as it was a gift card. I saved them for a large purchase, which is why I know attempted to use them. An assistant manager, at Home Depot, stated that there was a scam with the Home Depot gift cards a few years back in the Toronto area. She never mentioned some of the cards were not loaded on the Home Depot end, so were Home Depot employees, who loaded the cards, part of this scam? I'm 70 yrs old, I don't have the technical knowledge or no how on how to use gift cards as part of a scam. I'm actually part of the targeted group for scammers. But I will have to say that Home Depot, a very large AMERICAN store, will no longer receive any of my business, not that this means anything to you. It's no wonder in the USA the citizens are buying and returning ice scrapers. Home Depot in the USA has no conscience either. Going forward it's RONA and Home Hardware and I will post my experience. Careful, I hear there is a new gift card scam happening right now in communities, check that all your cards leave whatever facility they come from properly loaded with the correct amount and keep the receipt. Better still, use cash and shop at Canadian stores.
Will it be delivered???
Ordered an instock item online on Dec 14. Delivery was scheduled for Dec 19. But as with every other item I have ordered online with this company, delivery was rescheduled.
Now it is supposed to arrive on Dec 30. If your delivery service cannot do their job properly, get a new delivery service!!!!!!!
NO HELP, NOT allowed toenter contest for gift card.
Walked into Owen Sound Location and was looking for something specific, and fond it, but all the OBSTACLES in the way was quite frustrating, not to mention, as everyone knows, there is never anyone around at Home Depot when you need them.
But, this is not the reason for my complaint. I can't enter the Survey because I DO NOT HAVE an email or acount registered with them. I only shop here when I can't find what I'm looking for elsewhere, but I think I'll go elsewhere permantly. You won't allow me to enter you contest, WHY should I shop in your establishment?
Home Depot promises and as usual cant deliver.
I ordered mywhirlpool stove on November 1st, 2025. I was to be get a delivery window time Dec 4th for December 5th. On inquiry on the 4th, I was advised whirpool shipped it out late and it would arrive Dec 13. Dec 12th, I was advised delivery would be Dec 18th. Dec 17th I was advised it had reached Moncton but it would not be delivered the next day. I was advised Monday, Dec 21 it would be delivered. On Sunday I received an automated message sayng my delivery window for Monday the 22nd Dec was between 2 and 6 pm. At 6 pm I was advised my delivery window was between 4 and 8 pm. Still waiting! 720 pm Transportation company says the driver has to get off the road because the roads are bad. The weather has not changed from the snowy day it has been. They can't deliver before Christmas now, says Armour Transportation. So kiss goodbye Christmas dinner! Home Depot does not even rate a 1 star in my view. Never buy an appliance from Home Depot!!
