Only use Home Depot if you have no other choice. Doing some renovations. None of the employees want to work. They make excuses like they don’t have it in stock. Disappointed with Home Depot

I’m extremely disappointed with Home Depot’s so-called customer service.

I purchased an item that was supposed to be delivered last Friday, but it never arrived. When I called customer support, I was told the delivery vendor attempted delivery — which was not true because I was home. Then I was told it would arrive the next day. It didn’t.
The following day, the vendor claimed the lobby door was locked. Again, not true, the lobby is not locked. I was once again promised delivery the next day, and once again, it never happened.

After several calls, I spoke with someone in the escalation department who canceled the order and issued a gift card so I could place a new order. I explained that I urgently needed the item, and she told me my local store had six in stock available for pickup.

I placed the order and waited for the pickup email, only to find out the item was actually being shipped to the store and would take another 3–8 days. When I called support again, I was told there was nothing they could do because the vendor had the order. I was even given a phone number for the vendor that did not work.

Finally, I spoke with Corrina in the Leadership Specialty Ops department. She repeatedly said there was nothing she could do and refused to contact the local store to see if they could provide one of the items they supposedly had in stock.

I’ve dealt with many companies over the years, and when customers experience problems like this, most businesses at least try to make it right. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Home Depot.

Because of this experience, I’ve decided I will no longer shop at Home Depot and will be taking my business to Lowe’s instead. If you have a choice, I would strongly recommend avoiding Home Depot.

The absolute worst experience ever

The absolute worst experience ever! Spent over $3000 on new appliances, paid for delivery and installation. The installer refused to install the dishwasher and dropped off the unit. It took a few days to figure out what we could do about installation. After installation we discovered the unit had hidden damage from shipping, or perhaps warehouse damage from a forklift which caused the top of the unit to be crushed against top silverware tray. The Home Depot refuses to accept responsibility for it and refers me to Bosch. Bosch tells me it is a Home Depot issue. Have received the complete runaround speaking to about a dozen people in various departments and various levels of the chain of command. My advice… go elsewhere for your major appliances. Home Depot does NOT provide good service and does NOT stand behind the appliances they sell!

Terrible Service

Terrible Service: Team would not connect the water line, they said it was 3 inches too short, I explained to the tech there was extra line under the sink that they just had to pull it a little, they said they could not, we didn't pay for that service. Unbelievable Lazy

I ordered online for the first and LAST…

I ordered online for the first and LAST TIME. The order took much longer for delivery. I needed to return for a replacement CUSTOMER SERVICE is severely not helpful, he lacked experience then said he would email me the UPS shipping label but he kept saying FedEx! I never received the email so I had to call back 3 days later and spoke with Peter who wasn't much help either, Peter placed me on a silent jold for 5 minutes just to return and tell me the email wasn't sent because it was a "non work day" this makes no sense at all since my first call was on a Friday which is a "work day" Will see if this mystery email ever shows up. Don't use Home Depot for anything online! Less than 1-star rating.

Beware! Total Scam!!!!

Unfortunately I had to leave 1 star because you can't leave zero or negatives. The staff is so rude and ignorant and policies are not consistent.
Buying 5 gallon water bottles is $17.99 OR we pay an $8.99 deposit on the bottle and refills are $8.99 after that. Fine, we followed this for years. I asked for a refund on an empty bottle for the deposit back and the cashier insisted they DO NOT give refunds. Her words - "Nope, you own it now" What a scam!! As if I'd pay $8.99 to keep an empty jug! The cashiers DO NOT understand the meaning of the word "deposit"!!!
Please pass this along. I've only gotten 4 family and friends to go elsewhere so far. In this economy, we don't need more expense and incompitence. Shame the scammers!!!!

After several bad online experiences…

After several bad online experiences with Home Depot, I have officially boycotted them. Every time I place an online order, it is never correct, and returning the wrong items becomes a nightmare.

These are often large, expensive orders, but once the wrong item is delivered, it quickly becomes my problem to fix. I’m required to bring items back to the store, but many of them are too large or heavy to transport. In those cases, I’m told they will be picked up or shipped back, but even then it still ends up being my responsibility to manage Home Depot’s mistake.

I’ve had to schedule multiple pickup appointments, only for them to never show up, even after taking time off work. Other times, I’m left with large items sitting outside for days, trying to package and manage returns that shouldn’t be my burden in the first place.

The entire process has been extremely frustrating. At this point, I’ve decided to stop shopping at Home Depot altogether. I am forever a Lowe's shopper now. I have had nothing but great experiences with Lowe's.

They suck

Delivered an extremely heavy product in front of my doorway instead of ringing the bell and putting it on my porch. I have no way to move it. (I tried, almost hurt myself, almost broke my railing.) Called customer service. They will do nothing. It will have to stay there for 4 days until my contractor arrives. I hope the thunderstorm doesn't ruin it.

Reflective foil/radiant garage door insulation

Purchased the reflective foil/radiant barrier garage door insulation and it came without any directions! Therefore it did not say that you need to leave an air barrier between door and foil or it will not work properly.
So it is not working very good. Have to re do whole door.
Need directions in the kit to address this.

Hello, I would like to give a positive shout out to my delivery tech Angel, he delivered and set up my washer and dryer with efficiency and a positive attitude, he was knowledgeable regarding showing me how operate the machines. Great service, thank you Angel. 😊

Plant Seeds Not Germinate

The staff working for the carpet section at the Princeton, NJ store was nice and helpful. They got me a good deal for buying and installing new carpet.

Their plant seeds are awful. The seeds are probably too old and simply do not germinate. You have to spend $1 more ($3) to buy organic seeds, which has a good germinating rate.

I bought a Vissani freezer/refrigerator…

I bought a Vissani freezer/refrigerator two weeks ago. It was over $600, and it does not maintain a consistent safe temperature. It fluctuates between 47 and 37 in the refrigerator, and 35 and zero in the freezer. I have spent 3 days trying to get help and getting nothing but a runaround with their phone system. When I finally got hold of an agent, I couldn't understand a word they said. They transferred me to Vissani, and no solutions were offered. This is under warranty, but they won't replace it. I have to send it back at my expense before they will replace it - once they've received it. The only other option is for a service tech to come out, but I don't trust this refrigerator. I've already lost over 300 dollars to food spoilage, and I'm without a refrigerator. Lousy customer service and a lousy product and no to lousy solutions. I'm dying from advanced cancer and can't handle the stress of bad customer service and a lousy product. My advice is don't buy anything from Vissani. Home Depot has lost my confidence as well. I'll be sure to tell my family to stick to other stores and other manufacturers.

Unrespectiful to Veterans

I have used Home Depot for years and years especially since they put all the Mom & Pop companies out of business.
I am a Veteran and you are supposed to get 10% off. For some reason my phone number won't work yet it says on the app Military Discount Your All Set. Yet every time I go into the store it doesn't work. Usually, the woman at the Pro Desk will understand and apply the discount. However, Today Lauren at the Upper Darby Store was so disrespectful to me and wouldn't give me the discount and said I don't make the rules. I beg to differ Home Depot offers 10% off to Veterans. That is the Rule. It's not working right and they refused this Veteran his much-earned Discount. Maybe those who think freedom in this country is Free better take a good look in the mirror as many of my friends gave the ultimate sacrifice and will never see a discount. So, if you are going to honor Veterans then DO IT! I have Govt Military ID. I have the flag on my driver's license. It's our 250th year as a Free Country Respect the veteran that served so you can do whatever it is you are doing. If Lauren worked at my store she would be fired. No call or reason to be treated like crap by one of your uneducated employees.

Home Depot Contractor Services

They came on Wed took one look and called the office. The office said they can't install anywhere where's there's tile backsplash because they don't want the liability. A crock!
Who doesn't have tile backsplash!
Well, they out up a fuss and wouldn't do it. I toild them to take it back.
Bad experience with Home Depot.
