WE MADE THE MISTAKE OF BUYING FROM HOME DEPOT

What went wrong? We bought a Club Cadet Ultima ZT1 50" cut mower 23 HP on Aug 29 2025 from Home Depot and it cost over $4200 with he extended warranty, It was delivered Sept 1st 2025 at basically the end of grass cutting season in Newberry county. We used the mower until the grass quit growing and the mower was kept in a enclosed garage. We got the mower out this spring to cut the grass. Low and behold the mower quit cutting! No broken belts, checked the fuse, we pre-checked the oil before starting. Our yard is flat, no rocks, gullies or obstacles, or broken belts. It just stopped cutting grass! The motor continues to run fine! Great if we want a slow zero turn go cart!

Now the fun part starts. We called Home Depot where we bought it (it's NOT A YEAR OLD) and told them about the problem, after 45 minutes of hanging on the phone we spoke with a person. They were abrupt, rude and told us it was under the 3 year factory warranty and basically it was not their problem. We were told we had to call the factory because it came with a 3 year warranty and the factory had to fix it. After another 45 minutes of calls to the factory and being put on hold we finally were able to talk to a live person. Another waste of time! We gave them the serial number and sku and they said yes the mower was under warranty. That was the good news: The bad news is they said that they did not have anyone closer than 40 miles from our home in Prosperity, Newberry County SC to take it for repair! We would have to rent a trailer and take it to one of the factory warranty sites. And no we could not take it back to Home Depot to get it repaired. We had a Home Depot person call us to tell us that if it were not under factory warranty we could get it fixed locally??? Makes a lot of sense, DUHH! I told him that we would wait 3 years and get it fixed!

Don't make the same mistake and buy any kind of extended warranty from Home Depot... it's just a worthless policy from Allstate! We were stupid enough to have bought the extended warranty thinking we would have no trouble getting it fixed if there was a problem. What a run around! We called every authorized Club Cadet dealer in Lexington and even down to Batesburg, but no one wants to do the warranty work because they said it's too much trouble to get parts or get paid,

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM HOME DEPOT THAT YOU CAN'T REPLACE FOR MORE THAN $25! AND SURE DON'T WASTE MONEY ON THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY...YOU CAN'T EVEN GET SOMETHING FIXED ON THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY! AT LEAST I HAVE A NICE 4K BOAT ANCHOR! BUY FROM A LOCAL SHOP THAT SERVICES WHAT THEY SELL!!!

Horrible customer service with purchases

I recently bought a zero turn mower the experience was extremely unprofessional. The delivery date changed 3 times, numerous phone calls to find out where the mower was and when it was coming, promises made and broken, no call backs when promised, managers telling me it would be delivered that day but wasn't, another manager telling me I was lied to by the first manager. And then being told by manager sorry I am spread thin! From the service I didn’t receive, the lies, the unprofessionalism. It took well over a week to resolve. This is the 3rd time my family or I have received horrible service and issues with delivery or products. From a mower to washer to mattress and carpeting. Home Depot really needs to take a look at their customer service especially when they have had loyal customers. Disappointed is an understatement.

Rip off

Purchased an upright freezer and paid $50 to have them haul away the old one. When the "installers" arrived they refused to take the old one stating that there was "mold" inside. There was no mold, it was simply dirty. Home Depot wouldn't refund the full $50 because the "installers" moved the old freezer to a different location in the home. Bogus!

Do NOT EVER acquire a Home Depot Credit card.

Every month the same thing...I can't login into my Home Depot credit card account (again) to make a payment. Always a glitch. Always a problem. Always another, reset password. And if I can login, I can't find anywhere to update my debit card so I can make a payment. Frustrating as all get out. Then, another horendous call to customer support to get it straightened out. Horendous why, because they have the worst touch tone computer operated Ai, to service your needs instead of a live operator. Please dial this #. please dile that #. Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. Lets try something else. By the time you do get a live operator your so worked up having to deal with thet cheap Ai so called customer support crap, you can't help but spit out profanaties to the poor operator when a live operator finally comes on line. As soon as I get this Home Depot credit card paid off, (God Help Me) I am cutting it up and throwing it away.

Great customer service

Yesterday I went to the Home Depot on rt 59 and 75th st in Naperville to get lawn furniture. I started,out with a fantastic girl in customer service which then 2 more girls were invo!ved,due to no price shown on the floor model. They searched and got the price but only the floor model was available. I asked for a discount and a gentlemen came up and told them yes to give me one. These three young ladies were amazing. They helped my daughter and I all the way to the end. I decided to rent a truck from them to get the furniture home. While I was going through that process the girls had someone take the furniture outside the door and someone was,there to help load it. I wish I would have gotten their names. They were all amazing! Best experience in a very long time!

I ordered a major appliance on May 4Th…

I ordered a major appliance on May 4Th and delivery was scheduled for may 8th. Logistics personal did not show any knowledge of logistics on how to deliver my appliance to my home as a major bridge spanning the Mississippi River has been closed for numerous months and will be closed until 2027. I offered to drive the 8 miles to pick up the stove off the truck as it would not inconvenience me or the drivers so I could host the Mothers Day meal at my home , but was unable to because Home Depot does not do that! I have gotten many freight deliveries ( FED EX, UPS, SPEEDY) that were more accommodating than this company.
Called me to reschedule and stated would be delivered on May 12th, but when I called for delivery time frame they had no notes stated that the stove was scheduled for May 12th. After
1. Talking to AI bot, being transferred to person,
2. 1st person in a foreign country long hold transfed,
3. 2nd person on hold another foreign country which I found hard to understand told me there was not a delivery date scheduled, I am beyond frustrated and disappointed it the service of Home Depot.
I will be staying with Menards from now on they have better customer service

Order 3 Pieces of Furniture and only 1 was not defective.

I ordered 3 pieces of furniture 2 chest of draws and a night stand from Home Depot. Out of the 3 pieces 2 were damaged. I contacted Home Depot, and they made me purchase the 2 pieces that were damaged again and would not credit my card until after the pieces were picked up. UPS came to pick up the chest of draws that weighs 130 lbs and refused it because it was not in a box. I was not about to take it apart, because I spent a day putting it together and it was the draw fronts that were flawed, which is the last part to put together. They want to now have a freight company to pick up a Chest that I paid $413, which I need to sit home and wait for them to show up because I have to sign for the pick up. I will never purchase anything from homedepot.com again! The customer service manager seem to think it was my problem and not theirs.

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID

I purchased a paint gun at Home Depot and when I got home and opened it, it was missing pieces and had dry paint on it so I could tell it was used. I could not find my receipt and they refused to let me do an exchange or return. I am now out almost $300 and I have a paint gun that I cannot use. The customer service service was terrible.

Plant price gauging for Mother’s Day.

I have been a customer a long time. I was appalled at the comments supporting the manager who you accused of giving millions in discounts. Until yesterday. Stopped at a Home Depot to get a plant for Mother’s Day. They mostly looked like crap but we were in a pinch. When I get to my car I peel off the sticker to find a lower price under it. Wow. Price gauging plants for Mother’s Day says a lot. Guess you have to rip the public off to make up for Home Depot getting ripped off. So disappointing. Your little tiny corporation must be hurting.

My experience buying windows from Home Depot

My own experience: I bought storm windows from Home Depot (HD). Lifetime guarantee on windows (not frames). Went to sell my house and 3 windows were cloudy. HD failed to show up at my house to evaluate and take window measurements. After 6 weeks of phone calls and no action, I finally bought windows from elsewhere in order to meet the closing deadline on my house. They kept passing me to a different manager, each wanting to start the process over. Never came through. All talk, no action whatsoever.

Home Depot RENTAL in HYANNIS

Having waited in lines for hours at a bank in Havana, a voting location in Rio, and many more, I have never ever seen such a mess as the Rental Department in Hyannis. Just pay the extra for ANY of the other places. You will avoid the aggravation, frustration, and utter incompetence guaranteed at the Hyannis branch.

Buyer Beware

I ordered two outdoor furniture sets to be paid for my brand new home. I also ordered first class delivery and installation because we have back issues and built in a 55 community. I have back issues. I suddenly got this hodgpodge of boxes at all different days, even though it originally said it was coming the same day. And it came in one appeared to be the way things used to come, 40 years ago. When I would buy a grill or a similar and it used to come in a thousand pieces. Thank God my visiting father was a mechanic and was able to put it together. Then each time I called to find out where it was they had no idea who I was. I had to call back 4 times.

Buyer Beware. Do not buy from them if you need something delivered and set up from home. Buy from Lowes, who obviously wants your business

Lies and fals advertisement

Ordered a belt for next day delivery and it shipped under a fake tracking number, called them and they fixed it and gave me another tracking number which was also not a good number. Called again and they re-ordered it at no cost to be delivered the next day and it never shipped. Spent over an hour on the phone and still no product. It's false advertising on the shipping times and fraud for giving fake tracking numbers. I belia law suite is in order to make this crap stop. This will be my last purchase from home depot online that's for sure.

Their online software is terrible

Their online software is terrible. It doesn't return expected products for the search requested and they leave you hanging. You may have 3 credit cards but they tell you they can't find one of them. I asked for my purchase history and the software was totally lost. Home Depot, get your act together.

It was great in the past

It was great in the past, but you can tell that they have replaced humans with AI or something. The website is terrible when it comes to checking out. I gave up after several attempts. I will go directly to the store instead. You can be sure that the CEO and other executives got big bonus checks and each bought new yachts.

Highway robbery

My son rented an excavator for 1 day. He returned it before due time, but after hours. So he left the keys in the drop box. Because it took them 2 days to check the drop box, they charged him 2 days which is an extra 500.00. He spoke to management and they said nothing they can do. He called corporate and they said nothing they can do. This is unexceptable and it's robbery.

Rinky dink cat condo

I was in the Carson store buying a large and wide piece of wood and Abraham was such a delightful employee. He cut it to the size I needed and even listened to my ramblings of how I was building a cat condo in my apartment. Keep up the good work Abraham. You're a great people person!
