Would recommend to anyone

Managed to get a giant nail stuck in my tyre on the way to work that had completely blown my tyre.
Did a quick google search and came across these guys.
Great prices, got booked in the same day at my workplace and had my tyre fixed by Chris in no time.
All in all, great experience with this company and would recommend to anyone.

First Class Service

I have never used a company that fits tyres at your home address before, so, after kerbing both nearside wheels in darkness and foul weather in Liverpool, splitting the tyres, I needed a full lift recovery to my home in the Wirral. My panic was "What do I do now. How are we going to get my Honda Accord Tourer to a tyre garage, I'll need another full lift....etc.,"

The next morning, my husband Paul, had a look on the internet and found Hometyre. How lucky he did!

We decided to give them a try and get four new tyres anyway. Paul placed our online order and requested an appointment for the following morning.

A young lady rang us a short time later to confirm and told us our fitter was named "Steve" who covered the Wirral area.

Sure enough, Steve rang us telling us he was ten minutes away and what a nice guy he was. Very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. He also did a great job!

I would have no hesitation in recommending Hometyre. Why travel to a tyre retailer and sit bored in their waiting room, when Hometyre come to your home.

We certainly made a discovery and could not be happier with the service.

First class, very professional and efficient. Well done!

Pauline

AVOID this company at all costs - will never admit mistake with Tyre Report. Very rude and arrogant staff. No Integrity. Does Del Boy run this company?

Avoid this company at all costs. I encountered tyre damage earlier this year from a Pothole. they repaired the wheel but then messed with swapping tyres. They declared inaccurately on the tyre report that all tyres were good tyres and all of the correct Tyre Sizes. I have now just had an MOT fail for an incorrect tyre size, despite them confirming all the same size. This should have been picked up when they did the tyre report inspection, regardless of if they fitted them or not. Where is the attention to detail? I have a one year old baby and this is a compromise of safety. I am referring this on. They are now refusing to apologise for this inaccurate Tyre Report confirming my car was sound. I have the evidence in black and white. (Both the report and the MOT fail). Home Tyre should not have produced a Tyre Report confirming tyre sizes and quality of tyre if they cannot conduct them accurately. I won't rest until this is resolved. They did advise of a temporary fix to the vehicle side in question, as the tyre may wear quicker. But this temporary advisory had nothing to do with producing an erroneous tyre report confirming all 4 tyres size 185/60/R15 but one was 195/60/R15. If any one presents their vehicle to a garage, they want to simply be advised if their car is safe with suitable tyres. They have also been extremely rude, patronising and defensive. (They even had the cheek to accuse me of going to another garage since!). They could have simply said "we made a mistake and we are sorry". I posted the proof on their Facebook page and they still had the audacity to deny making any error. They even said I had cropped things off (only my address, so people couldn't see my info on social media). These people are jokers for customer service! They inspected ALL tyres in March and now they say they are not responsible for their own Tyre Report!! My MOT was extended 6 months due to COVID-19, that's why only now their shoddy Tyre Report has come to light. Look below how defensive they have been! I have the proof and I am willing to show any customer! Be warned and go elsewhere for safety peace of mind! Read the other negative reviews on here! "Hometyres' director will do what he can to fob you off and in the process belittle you, insult you, call you a liar, talk to you very arrogantly, disrespectful, and all round do exactly the opposite to what he should, and that is to put his customer first. Disgusting !! Absolutely vile customer service!"
They did the same to me! Very arrogant, disrespectful and rude! Guess what, the customer is ALWAYS right and you lose every time!

For clarity and to provide all of the details for any interested reader :

We attended this vehicle in March 2020, having been requested to fit a new tyre as a matter of urgency and in order to enable Mr Robinson to leave the RAF base he was stuck on and get home -quite literally just hours before the full March UK lockdown hit.
Upon arriving, our technician Mark, noted that the car had suffered a severe pothole impact and that while the tyre was destroyed, the wheel had also been significantly damaged. Under normal circumstances, this would have had to have been replaced. Mark however, understanding the customers plight and realising that a new wheel simply could not be sourced in the timeframe required, offered to take the time to manually reshape the wheel such that it could accept a new tyre and maintain pressure safely. This was not a simple process.
Having done this though, and tested it thoroughly, he moved the completed assembly to the rear of the car to avoid Mr Robinson suffering potential steering vibration over the 100+ mile journey home (at no additional cost). He also advised verbally and recorded that this was a temporary repair only and should be replaced as soon as possible.
While having extended the allotted booking time quite considerably at this point, he then carried out a visual check over the rest of the vehicle, checked pressures, and left to attend to further clients to which he was then late in attendance.
The tyre we supplied and fitted remains on this vehicle and is the correct fitment for this vehicle and was as requested by the client. The work Mark carried out was done so professionally, safely and above and beyond under the circumstances.

Some seven months later we're informed that the vehicle has failed an MOT because an incorrect tyre size has been found on the car. This is a tyre we did not supply or fit. Unquestionably.

Should there be a tyre mounted to the vehicle that is incorrect for MOT purposes, recourse should very clearly be with whoever the tyre was originally purchased from? We find it a little difficult to understand why demand should be placed on us to pay for this and equally bemused why Mr Robinson refuses to even consider speaking to the supplying business in this case?
We're sorry he feels so angry with our technician as Mark only ever worked to help him out of a difficult situation at the time.
Is it possible that Mark inadvertently misread a 9 as an 8 while looking over the vehicle? Yes it is. Human error can occur and he may have been more concentrated on the issues then in hand. However, considerable time and mileage has also occurred since he was with this vehicle and by rights, it should have been taken to have the wheel replaced as noted, so it's equally possible that it wasn't misread. Unfortunately that is no longer something that can be proven either way.

Rather than simply contact whoever actually supplied and fitted this slightly differently sized tyre, it is now suggested that we are responsible for actually paying to have it replaced!? A true shame how quickly a good and honest deed is forgotten it seems.

We therefore cannot accept responsibility - and subsequently pay out for a tyre provided in error by another party. Mr Robinson is not 'out of pocket' for any work we carried out and irrespective of whether or not an incorrect tyre may, or indeed may not have been present at the time, safety was not compromised at all. In fact, the only real safety consideration remains the wheel that was advised to be replaced.
We hope Mr. Robinson decides to reflect upon the situation and be perhaps a little less vitriolic in his review of Hometyre. It is our opinion that he received the best and most considerate service possible at the time and at no stage has his safety - or pocket - been compromised by anything we did.

Saved the day when another company left…

Saved the day when another company left me in the lurch with a punctured front tyre. Keith, from the Sutton Scotney branch, arrived earlier than planned and was able to get me on the road again within the hour. Very professional and friendly service, giving the other tyres a pressure check and clean. Would definitely use them again.

First class service

After a nail punctured my tyre I booked a repair on line with Home Tyre. Craig the local technician for Milton Keynes arrived as expected and explained that he would repair the tyre if possible. He was extremely helpful and pleasant and a real credit to the company. He managed to repair the tyre in no time at all whilst working in the pouring rain. I will 100% recommend to friends and family in the future when needed.

Amazingly quick service

I rarely feel motivated to write reviews online, but I was hugely impressed with Sergio today. I stupidly banged a curb, puncturing a rear tyre at 9am this morning. I limped the half mile home and rang the RAC. After about 20 minutes of recorded messages, I spoke to someone who explained my cover didn't stretch to doing anything with a car at home, and if I extended my cover they would send someone to fit a temporary tyre and follow me to a garage.
I then looked at some alternatives, and phoned Hometyre, who answered immediately. I was really impressed when they said they could come the same day, and even more impressed when they rang back to ask if they could fit me in earlier. By 3pm I had a new tyre fitted and everything resolved. The price was entirely reasonable, and Sergio was brilliant.

MARVELOUS, WILL USE AGAIN IF NEEDED

Rang a ‘big name’ drive tyre service and asked about the possibility of same day tyre replacement - I was just directed to do it all on the website. I politely asked again what were the chances of same day - I was told robotically it was a 3-4 day service! Rang Hometyre - the telephonist was extremely polite and helpful (spoke to two who were a credit to the company) said they could come later in the day but would keep me informed (they did!). Chris arrived early (but I had been told he would wait if we were not back home) and carried out the replacement, showing me the original tyre and explained why it could not be repaired. He was polite, friendly and professional - even entertaining the little boy next door as he carried out his work! Payment by card once work completed followed by emailed invoice with report on each tyre. I was very impressed that he washed down all my wheel hubs too! Would definitely recommend.

Great service. Highly recommended.

Frankly, I can’t recommend these guys highly enough. They have changed the last two sets of tyres that I have had and yesterday attended for a puncture repair caused by a large screw picked up on the road. I had stupidly ordered the wrong size tyre replacement in case the puncture could not be fixed (which was indeed the case) but the fitter Dave was sweetness and light, returning the next day to fit the correct one having located one in the meantime. This after having to refit the punctured tyre on the rim and then back on the car for the overnight so it was secure. No fuss or drama and very understanding about my mistake. Friendly, polite and skilled. A pleasure to have him around. They will continue to be the tyre company I will use. Many thanks!

Friendly and efficient service.

Drove over a Stanley blade when arriving at work. Phoned hometyre who sent Tony before the end of the day. Unfortunately he was unable to repair it because of proximity to the sidewall, however they replaced it quickly with the same tyre, and did a full check of my others whilst there. Really friendly service.

Just go elsewhere...

I had 2 tyre's replaced by Hometyre, the guy that fitted them was nice enough albeit not the quickest - but all absolutely fine. Slight grievance is that they quote you without incl VAT, so ended up being charged more than expected once the tyre's were changed.

3 days later, I hadn't even driven my car in the meantime, and 1 of the tyres burst about 30 seconds from my home. Annoying, but these things happen. Hometyre are closed from Sat lunchtime until Monday morning so I had to wait a couple days to give them a call and let them know what had happened - again, inconvenient but not a big deal.

I called first thing Monday morning expecting to just get a 'we're sorry this has happened and we'll book a new time in with you to get it replaced.' No such thing. The guy at the office, Russell, was just so rude I couldn't believe it, not apologetic in any way and sounded like this was actually an inconvenience for him, not me. He made references that I must have done something to it and they'd make me pay again for it, without anyone even looking at it. So I wasn't hopeful.

The same guy that fitted them before came a few hours later, again unapologetic, checked my mileage could see it hadn't been driven (like I said, so I couldn't have done anything to it) and still was umm'ing and ahh'ing - called the office a few times leaving me waiting, waiting and waiting.

They then said I had to pay for a new tyre to be fitted, they would send the faulty tyre to the manufacturer and if/when they credit Hometyre they'll credit me back. Ridiculous process to make me pay again when it wasn't my fault, but I'd had enough by this point and just told him to change it. He changed it (after taking 45mins and now there was a second Hometyre van there as well) and very conveniently he had changed it to an even more expensive tyre and charged me more!

I asked how long it would be until I get my credit back and was told 'weeks or months' as the factory might be out of the UK. So let's just say I am not hopeful at all at getting my money back from this company.

I just wouldn't waste your time to be honest, something so simple has been made so stressful by these people and I am the one left majorly out of pocket for their mistake or a faulty tyre they fitted. A simple apology and replacement would have been so easy and I probably would have used them again, but now I will avoid at all costs.

We are happy to respond, and also post on here the correspondence sent to you via email after we'd had a follow up 'phone call with you.
To clarify a number of things in the first instance:
Our prices are completely transparent and all pricing is listed via our website for instant comparison and are always quoted inclusive of VAT (the recorded call backs up this statement). Furthermore, the replacement tyre you had fitted was charged at a lower price - not higher as stated. Our records (taken from the milometer on your vehicle) also showed that some 30 miles had been driven in between our visits.
Email sent to you 12/08/20:

HI Stephanie.

Following our earlier conversation, I've taken further time to look into the matter in more depth and requisitioned the call itself (attached mp3 audio file) - please do take a few minutes to have a listen first.

While I appreciate that Russ isn't the most flamboyant of personalities on the 'phone, he does follow protocol and on this occasion, he simply took the info and very quickly arranged a call-out to assist - with less than two hours turnaround time too! (not many organisations would respond this quickly, I assure you).
He did this by manipulating other bookings while on the 'phone and in order to accommodate you as quickly as possible. He also stated quite clearly that we needed to assess the tyre in order to understand the next course of action. He made no reference to anything else at that point - until you stated that you expected the tyre to be replaced for free.
That's somewhat unfair given that nobody had had chance to look at it and this simply forced him into (correctly) explaining the complaint returns methodology - something you've since agreed with me and said that you appreciate and understand - albeit having raised objections to it at the time? It's not strictly fair that you then had a fair go at him stating that he was rude. I can understand that his demeanour isn't vibrant but he was just collecting facts at that point and getting you attended to asap. Please also bear in mind that our data does show a mileage anomaly of circa 30 miles. He had access to this during your call hence perhaps considering it a little odd.
We're not here to upset anyone - we love our customers and we go out of our way to help wherever we can - but being given the opportunity to assess, evaluate and understand is vital. Being confrontational because Russ didn't immediately volunteer a free tyre simply isn't fair - sorry.
Under the circumstances, I'll accept that he could have been more expressive and compassionate during the call - but he wasn't ultimately wrong in the handling of it. Please do also note that you were not charged extra for the tyre - it was actually £2.40 less overall according to the invoice….
End.

In this instance, we've simply not agreed immediately to replace your tyre for free but instead followed the industry norm with regards to a tyre under complaint.. The photos of the tyre show a sidewall blow out, but they also show heavy wheel damage at the same point. The ONLY way to determine what actually occurred with the tyre is for it to be properly evaluated and examined by the manufacturer or their nominated expert. This process, as explained can take time and is not in our control.
We note that as of the 17/08/20, we've not had any reply to the above email and you've not attempted to return our calls.
We're happy to talk further with you and would very much like to provide service for you into the future. Please do get in touch.

Hi Mike,

We're sorry to hear you feel you had a negative experience with us. I have spoken at length with your fitter regarding the issue and he explained to me that, unfortunately, one of your centre caps was misplaced during the fitting. He said he searched the area thoroughly and could not find it, it was a genuine mistake and he apologised for it.

He also explained one was already missing and by means of apology for misplacing one of them, he would happily replace both. He said you declined his offer and said you would arrange the replacement yourself. He has since tried contacting you to follow up whether you would like to take up his offer of replacing both of your centre caps at no cost but has been unable to get through to you on multiple occasions.

If you would like to take our fitter up on his offer to replace your centre caps free of charge, please respond to his message. I hope you understand that mistakes do happen and on this occasion we have done our best to resolve your issue prior to your negative review. We hope you would reconsider your rating for our services and use us again in the future.

Kind regards,

Hometyre

We noticed our two back tyres were completely bald. My partner works nights, an 80 mile round trip so I was really unhappy about him driving with those tyres.
We called at 1530, and they were with us by 1610.
They did all 4 tyres for us (Sergio commented saying that they needed doing, and in all honesty we were aware but holding out) within 40 minutes, for less than the quote.
Plus we didnt have to leave the carpark!
