I don’t even know where to start.
It took me 20 minutes to reach reception to order room service- nobody is picking up the phone.
Dinner- greeted with a “not really happy to see you” attitude sat down at a dirty table (nobody cared to clean it- I had to explicitly ask for it)
Drinks arrived after the starter which was put down on the - yes you’re right- dirty table.. also no cutlery of course.
Was charged for the toiletries - £35/used bottle nobody mentioned it before, never in my life in a hotel on this “level” I had to pay for that- not when paying £700 per night.
Sent an email to express my frustration - nobody bothers to reply.
Disgraceful.

Birthday spa trip for four ladies aged 28-59 :twighlight session.

Firstly must acknowledge that this is a stunning property in beautiful grounds with very pleasant and helpful staff (particular thanks to Monica at the spa, who despite being very busy went out of her way to get us drinks).
However, our spa session was spoilt by several things, a few of them being health and safety hazards.
1. My youngest daughter almost suffered a nasty accident in the sauna as the bottom seat was broken and as she stepped onto it to go to the top seat, it gave way and she fell. Luckily she spotted the problem just as she placed her foot down and so was able to put her arm out to steady herself. We reported this and the sauna was then closed.
2. Unable to use sauna for rest of session.
3. The hot tub is made of metal and slippery to get into. On top of that, the step down into the tub is approx a 2ft drop and makes getting in very precarious. I for one, being the eldest, also needed assistance to step back up to get out. Very embarrassing. This has never happened in any other hot tub I have used. I think for younger more agile users it would not be such a problem but even my 41yr old daughter said she didn't feel safe getting in.
3. A broken join on one of the rubber tiles on the floor of the steam room meant that I was taken aback by a sudden sharp pain in my foot when I stood on it. It was just inside the door to the right.
4. Pool temperature was tepid at most and explained why so many guests (including us) were avoiding a swim. Disappointing for what was supposed to be a heated pool.
5. When we were first shown into the spa by the gentleman at reception, we asked for 2 things. It's a shame he completely forgot to do one of them!
6. Shame the poolside bar closed so early with no obvious means of an alternative.
