Absolutely horrendous
Awful experience. Customer service is non-existent, they advertise free next day delivery and didn't send the product for over a week. I raised a payment dispute with my bank as I'd had no response from this company. The bank credited my account until I finally got a full refund. Was an absolute nightmare!

The new Hoover PortaPower arrived today! I was excited! I was thrilled! Over many years, this is the 3rd one I've bought because it was, as claimed, "Commercial" power and SO convenient!
I unpacked it, compared the parts to the one I'd bought about 8 years ago (that one only lasted 8 years, sadly).
The attachments were the same. The canister was the same. And that's where it ended.
1. The power cord is immediately obviously cheaper quality. Lighter-weight.
2. The bag that comes with the unit is thinner, cheaper quality. Will likely let a LOT pass through and likely into the motor.
3. Ah... the motor. I plugged it in and flipped the switch... IMMEDIATELY I could HEAR the motor is weaker and...
4. As somebody had posted in a "review" else-where, I'll repeat: "It doesn't suck." No, really, it doesn't. NOTHING even comparable to the old units. What used to take me about 10 minutes just took me almost 30! Passing over and over and over again and again.
Keep in mind, Hoover uses the "USA" label all over their site, in their product descriptions, on their packaging and shipping boxes BUT... the TRUTH comes on the little sticker ON the unit:
* ASSEMBLED * IN USA. NO "MADE" IN USA.
Sub-par parts, MADE in China, shipped to the USA where somebody with a screwdriver puts it together.
Compared to other vacuum cleaners, the price is attractive. But it's a case of "you get what you pay for" and you're NOT getting your old Hoover any more.
I'm keeping it because I need it (or I wouldn't have bought it). But this is the LAST Hoover product I'll ever buy again. My "Trust" in Hoover is completely gone.

OH! But it's so sad a I SO wish I'd looked for this information BEFORE pissing money away on more sub-standard destruction of a once-American brand:
"Hoover brand vacuum cleaners are primarily manufactured in the United States, specifically in Cookeville, Tennessee, although some components may be globally sourced. The company is now a subsidiary of Techtronic Industries, which is based in Hong Kong."
True to form, the "new" Hoover company doesn't care about customers, products, the name, the reputation, the heritage. They're "Chinese" now and their merchandise is "typical" of "Give me your money and leave me alone."
My old PortaPower suddenly caught FIRE after only 6 years of the most careful use, One day it worked, the next day, flames! Trusting the name, I ordered a new one only to find that the quality has plummeted.
Tried their online "chat"... either you choose from programmed questions or it simply shuts you down... exactly like the "people" who answer the phone when you call.
Never again... Time to notify the credit card company. Let's go to the "American" courts if need be.

I had a local engineer come out to look at my washing machine to be told I had I had a big hole in my drum and needed to ring hoover for a replacement. I rang Hoover and explained everything what I needed iE: Drum and tub! my model and serial number.She said I Had to wait 4 days for an engineer to come out and fix it. They said I would have a 2hour time slot.I waited on the day to receive a telephone call asking for my serial number AGAIN!!! Then to be told they will order my part and wait another week.

Bought a hoover washer as hoover used to be a good make, not any more, it lasted 14 months. Engineer said drum spindle was broken. It would have cost £80 call out and £160 for repair and labour and vat, parts free.240 in total. I bought a new one of a different make for 350. Hoover you can keep it and good bye forever.

The fact is I just open the box and the brush was missing, and a major corporation cannot send me the missing one that cost them 2.50 to make but charge 25 plus 15 shipping is HORRIBLE image for a company. I am on disability and haven't income replacement and yet I go out of my way in June to get this vacuum cleaner thinking I will use it in the near future. Not evening open the box to ensure all parts are there because I blindly misplaced my trust in a company that had been around over 50 years.

I bought a Hoover Cordless Vacuum Cleaner With Anti Hair Wrap, Blue - HF4 Hydro Pet in March. As it did not come with spare filters I went online at Hoover located the spare filters I needed and ordered. The confirmation said that there was a 4 week delivery?? OK, I went with it on the grounds that a new filter should have a serviceable life on months but one never knows with such things, hence a backup, just in case. To date, 6 weeks later I have received nothing, no notifications of any sort on delivery. This whole situation is very hard to understand as this is a current model for which, it would be expected, that fast moving parts such as filters would, no should, be readily available. This situation makes me uneasy about Hoover and their products because if a simple straight forward filter is so difficult to supply what would happen if there was a mechanical/electrical failure. I'm beginning to very much regret buying the Hoover which I initially recommenced to friends. That situation has now being reversed. I can not in all honesty recommended buying a Hoover to friends and family as I do not want to be in a situation where I was the person who recommemd something that has the potential to cause unnecessary stress.

Paid for a repair to a four year old dryer four months ago. Engineer took 6 weeks to arrive. Didn't have part. Hoover cannot tell me when the part will arrive. Refused to honour warranty which states parts will be replaced within 28 days. Instead offered the option of purchasing a new machine; how is that an option and why on earth would I want to pay for another unreliable machine from a company that cannot make repairs which doesn't honour warranties?! Refused to take a complaint, refused to let me speak with any decision maker. Now taking to small claims court.
