Avoid buying Hoover appliances
Had Hoover washer / dryer for 7 months. Has broken down twice. First time engineer was able to fix. Second time rubber tore badly and ripped up a blanket. We told Hoover customer service over phone what the problem was and to show up with replacement rubber. Had to wait a week for engineer. Engineer turns up an hour late, says it needs a new rubber but he has been on leave and hasn’t got one in his truck. Checks stock - no spares in the UK. Admits we aren’t the only customers facing the same problem 😂 Diabolical customer service over phone and now it’s a 28 day wait for another engineer to repair. We will never buy another Hoover appliance. We’re now shopping for another brand. Avoid at all costs.

Stay away from Hoover fridge freezer. Broke down after a month of use. Now freezer is leaking toxic chemicals. They do offer repair but has been two weeks without a working fridge and they don't seem to take it seriously, claiming they don't release faulty products to the market when they clearly do.
Terrible Customer Service
We bought a Hoover H-Wash&Dry 300 Lite (HBDS495D1ACE/-80) in February 2024, and have had persistent issues with the fabric conditioner drawer filling with water after every wash. Despite following all the online instructions, removing and cleaning the drawer, checking for blockages, running a service cycle, nothing has resolved the issue. There's no visible buildup or obstruction, and yet the problem persists.
What’s worse is the dreadful customer service. After only 14 months, the washer/dryer is malfunctioning and I attempted to contact Hoover by phone. I was forced to listen to several minutes of unnecessary information, only for the line to go dead just as I was about to be connected to someone.
Trying WhatsApp was equally frustrating. I felt like I was interacting with a bot that prioritised marketing preferences and titles over actual support. Even after explaining my issue multiple times, I received responses that were completely irrelevant.
Deeply disappointing experience all round, for both the product and the customer support. I expected far better.

We purchased a hoover vacuum cleaner just over a year ago, we noticed at the wire had split at the neck of the hoover where it goes into the hoover, we had kept our receipt and we rang hoover customer services, we were 1 week outside the manufacturing guarantee and they said they carnt help so now I'm going to to purchase another vacuum cleaner and it definitely won't be buying a hoover product. Model 991LA2211_82 avoid if you want a vacuum cleaner long than a year.

Would not bother purchasing direct from Hoover…. Horrendous service. Delivered a faulty machine in March and I’m still waiting for a resolution. The CEO doesn’t respond or get involved, doubt he even looks at the emails sent to him and it’s automatically sent to a member of his staff. Would never buy from this company again due to their after service… or lack of it.

Fraud company
Fraud company. Says parts warranty for 10 years after registration. Then when you call them, they say 1 year. Also don't have spare parts for washing machine I bought just over 12 months. Wants me to pay 160 £ for engineer visit to fix a simple hinge, which can be done by anyone. Surprised how they are allowed to do business in the UK.

This turned out to be an absolute scam.
What they offer is 'free parts' but it cost £160 for them to come and see if they can fix it, if they can't you still get charged £80. I used a local repair service and it cost me £75. So you are actually getting nothing for free. it's £80 if they can't fix it and £160 if they can but it only cost £75 to fix anyway. They shouldn't be allowed to advertise it as a free benefit when it's actually dearer than any other qualified repair centre. I will not ever buy Hoover or Candy again. They subcontract this service and get a huge kick back.
Also, when I called the company that they authorise to scam us, they tried to pressure sell me an even more expensive option, is was laughable.

Washing machine broke, i called 15 times and they never send me someone. keep telling me that a technician will call me but no one ever did. i end up repairing my washing machine with youtube help... seriously kinda insane
Nightmare at Home Depot/Hoover
I bought a Hoover wind tunnel in Dec 2024.
It never worked properly and now it doesn't work at all.
I bought it online on the Home Depot website.
I took the vacuum back in late March 2025 to Home Depot assuming they would do a refund or a credit certificate.
To my dismay they wouldn't do either.
They said it was past the 3 month deadline. They were rude and had zero customer service.
Theg told me to take it up with Hoover.
Hoover won't do anything either.
So I am basically handcuffed between two companies.
Now there's customer service for ya.
So I am stuck with a 300.00 vacuum which doesn't work.
I told Hoover I won't buy another Hoover product.
They dont care.
I even have a Home Depot credit card and they don't care.

Terrible customer care . My vacuum cleaner I bought last year 10 months ago . Battery stop charging and then customer care arranged pick up . I have been waiting for 8 hrs and no one here to pick up. They give time frame from 8 am to 5 pm . Can you imagine I stuck home for 8 hrs !!

I bought a shampooer less than two years ago used it maybe five times it stopped working so I filled a warranty claim, and this is the email I received.
I am sorry your unit is not dispensing. Unfortunately, we will not be able to approve your Warranty claim since you used Great Value Cleaning Solution in your unit. Per the owner's manual only, Hoover solution is to be used in the unit. The use of any other solution besides Hoover's solution voids the warranty. Our Engineers have tested our units using our brand solution and know it works in our units. When you use any other brand, it can cause damage to the unit.
Nothing in the user manual or on their website says that I cannot use any other brand or it will void the warranty. It clearly states we recommend using Hoover brand.
I just got off the phone with a representative and he told me that I was right that there’s nothing stating that so my warranty should still be good. Now I’m out of a carpet shampooer and money!!!!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Ongoing issues waited weeks for a response made multiple phone calls but they're unable to communicate between departments meaning customer's need to send various emails. I was contacted after my last review by the social media team and thought we were getting somewhere but still no luck.

This u a great size washing machine, but poorly made. I've had the Hoover H wash 500 for just over a year and totally regret it. I have had the plastic paddles replaced in September 2024 and they have now broken off again, these are really poorly made out and it's the same peace of plastic. That breaker off them. Would NOT recommend this washing machine to anyone

I've been trying to return my purchase for almost a month now. So far no method they suggested worked: all pick up points they suggested refused to take the parcel, and the home collection service just didn't arrive. They take their time answering the messages, too, had to send new requests a few times.
I think they're either deliberately making it impossible or their service is just amazingly bad.
