Truly shocking, overpriced service

Truly shocking service. I appreciate that a company must make a profit, but Hospedias charging is verging on extortion! They hide behind the wording of a law passed to give patients access to recreational fulfilment. But I'm sorry, with a captive audience, they are robbing people. You are better off taking a laptop or tablet into hospital and buying a data package for your mobile phone. It's actually cheaper than a week's payment for Hospedia! Not impressed. I wish I could give zero stars.

Disgusting company comparable with the criminals Parking Eye,... both share the same philosophy . . to bleed hospital patients and their loved one dry. . . one has to blame inept management at the hospital trusts for putting profit before patients and having a utter lack of empathy ( and common sense and decency)

Unethical, non-caring, money-grabbers.

In the middle of a Pandemic, trying to get to speak to my father of 86 years, admitted to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with Pneumonia, and isolated for his own safety. The only option I have been given to speak to him is to call a bedside phone, on a 0872 premium rate number, But because I am calling the UK from Australia, my phone network does not allow calls to UK premium rate telephone numbers. After doing some digging I find that Hospedia, are basically thieving from hospital patients and concerned families and friends by charging ridiculously over-inflated charges to contact loved ones.
Did notice the Hospedia Ltd slogan too "Engaging and empowering patients and frontline staff. Digital technology at the point of care." What a load of old guff.
Your so-called "Digital technology at the point of care" has left me unable to have any contact with a very ill person.
Unethical, non-caring, money-grabbers.

Any decent & professional Digital Technology Company would also be trying very hard to improve its online review ratings,
whats happened here?

Freeview TV Charges, DISGUSTING !

£7.99 per day (££2916.35 per annum pro rata) for a bedridden patient to watch Freeview TV channels is absolutely disgusting! Matt Hancock health minister, senior hospital NHS Trust management and Hospedia management should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves !

When you are too poorly to watch TV…

When you are too poorly to watch TV they will not give you any refund they are completely heartless and I dont know why the NHS uses this American rip off company they are making a fortune out of vulnerable people and they are getting away with it and nobody seems to care. It's about time something was done about this

Scum

Preyed on the sick, elderly and long term patients for over 20 years now, something must be done. £21 million profit? absolutely disgraceful.

And yes I used to work for them, so if anyone is interested in any documention or proof of how they continue to rip off NHS trust, please contact me via email on steer104AToutlook.com

All I can add to the 1000's of negative reviews is that when this company discloses a profit of 21 million pounds for the last period then why the hell is the government not capping what they can charge. Honestly they are worse than vampires when it comes to money. Freeview tv should be just that FREE. They obviously don't give a crap about people just cash. Bloody rediculous.

What a ridiculous service

What a ridiculous service! I spent £9.95 for the tv and film package and got all nice and comfy ready to settle down to a film when I realised there was no sound and I needed headphones. No sign of any headphones anywhere so I dialled the operator and was told to go in search of a member of the nursing staff. This I did and felt as though I was putting them to bother as of course I was as they are busy and have far more important things to do than search for headphones! I hung around for about 10 minutes and was eventually given a set. So, I settled down to watch my film again with the headphones on only to discover that the volume was very low even though it was at maximum. I couldn't make out the dialogue at all. So, I phoned the operator and she said she'd need to get an engineer out to fix it. Fair enough I said, how long will that take? She replied that he couldn't come until tomorrow! I'm being discharged in the morning so that's no good to me. She said she could refund my card but I would have no tv! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 really? An absolute joke! A complete waste of my time and the nurses time! I 😡😡😡😡 I think hospedia should be thoroughly investigated - a bunch of crooks! Don't use their products at their greedy, inflated prices because you will end up having to phone them up and be dealt with by a non-existent customer service!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Not even worth 1 star

Not even worth 1 star. Paid twice for my very poorly son who is stuck in an isolation side ward because he's recovering from meningitis- to have access to phone/tv/radio but twice the unit was faulty - first it was the handset and advisor told me to ask nurses if we could swap from an unused telly unit - which they kindly did and it worked for 3 whole days! But then it went off completely- phone tv radio - the whole shebang and they couldn't fix it remotely so I was promised an engineer would see to it after the weekend - such brilliant customer service isn't it- cos obviously nobody needs entertaining at weekends in hospital do they? When nobody turned up on Monday I phoned on my mobile (£6 it cost me) to complain - got an apology and was assured that the engineer would be there midweek (ie Wednesday by my reckoning)- you guessed - no show. Another call and another apology - they would definitely be there Thursday or Friday - no show. Rang up again asking for reason but none forthcoming so asked for our money back plus cost of mobile phone calls - was told to ask for my son to be moved to a bed where the tv worked!! I explained that the wonderful NHS had already had to place my son on a side ward at short notice and I was not going to ask them to do any such thing as he was in isolation. Oh well we don't refund phone calls because they are free from the bedside unit - oh no they aren't - not when the blithering tv unit thing has died. Fortunately my son is slowly getting better thanks to our wonderful NHS staff so I am truly grateful for that ; but the Hospedia mob are a downright disgrace ripping off vulnerable people when they need a helping hand on the road to recovery.DON'T USE THIS SERVICE THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND CHEAT PEOPLE>

Never ever ever use this service

Never ever ever use this service. My poor mother-in-law who has had a brain injury accidentally paid for the TV four times over two days. She never watched the telly and Hospedia refuse to refund her because there is no reported fault on the service.
My mother-in-law was too poorly to watch telly and never actually watched anything but Hospedia are adamant the four charges of £9.90 still stand.

This company is a joke

This company is a joke! My mother was admitted to a cancer ward where the tv in the bay wasn’t working. Usual crap given by customer services - no engineers on a weekend, don’t have engineers movements, it will be when an engineer is in the area, our engineers cover a number of hospitals.

After calling everyday for 4 days and demanding it be escalated a representative appears to say these units are different to one’s at the other hospital and she doesn’t know what she’s doing.

Finally she gets it working and when I look to complete the purchase the tv freezes.

Call their 0345 number for the fifth time to be told everything above and they can only escalate the problem after the unit has been down for a certain amount of time...so 4 days isn’t enough with their extortionate prices.

I therefore demanded that a manager call me from the scathing email complaint fired into their ‘customer relations’ (tongue in cheek!!)

I am a repair technician myself and would be appalled if I was offering the same service.

I anticipate their response but shame on Hospedia and the NHS for letting these cowboys provide an exceptionally disgusting service.

Corporate mentality

Corporate mentality - stuff patients. This is a prime example of how not to do job properly. The only intention here is too extort as much money as possible from patients. The notion of providing a useful service is non-existent. Free to air TV channels are charged. Only 5 BBC National radio stations, and hospital radio. No commercial stations. No free websites - not even the NHS website and the hospital you are staying at! Very angry, will be writing to my MP about this appalling service.

The cost is extortionate as the tv is free from 8-12 so you are paying just from 12 till bedtime you should only be charged for the hours you watch the tv not the days . My 90 year old mother only watches Tipping point & the Chase (2hrs ) nothing else and so far over 5 weeks we have paid nearly £120 .I and many others think you are ripping off the sick who through no fault of their own are in hospital

Further to the saga of no TV at Boston…

Further to the saga of no TV at Boston hospital I rang their customer services. I was told they do not know when the technicians will be there as they do not have any information on their movements. I was also told there technicians do not work weekends I said it's now Tuesday. So no further forward we have paid for the TV but the patients have to look at walls for entertainment. Really great people company (I don't think)

Exploiting the sick for excessive profits

When it works it's ok. Huge exploitation of people at their lowest ebb in hospital in favour of their profits. £7.50 a day charge to watch just channel 1 to 5. Happily NHS hospitals now setting up their own TV service/providing wifi so patients can
stream their own entertainment.
