Wood chippings
The ordering and delivery process was quick and efficient. I purchased wood chippings but was slightly disappointed to find thick pieces of cane bamboo mixed in. The product is more expensive compared to others, and I chose it because I expected the highest quality. This is why I deducted one star from my rating.
However, I do realise that mistakes happen and the overall product is, quality.

Did my research and settled on a HotBin… called and spoke to super helpful customer service and also found online support and videos super helpful too.. set my HotBin up this weekend following advise from HotBin and temp coming up nicely… very happy with the result, super easy to use, wish I’d known about this HotBin ages ago!! Highly recommend both the product and support service..

Leachate drain needs design alteration to stop dribbling.
Easy to order, delivered promptly, happy with product. Marked down as when you take the cap off to drain the leachate, it dribbles back down the thread and down the bin which is annoying. But otherwise it works a treat.

I like the size and shape mini version,
It's seems to work well running at a temperature from 60 to 95 dogs on the gauge provided. It's very easy to install and use.
My dislike is the unit is made from some sort of black bobley polystyrene, the mixing device is a long handle small paint roller frame.
I was thinking the unit would be made of a material better than polystyrene. It's very light and I have dad to secure it down with straps as you can't screw anything into the polystyrene.
A lot of money for what it is.

The HOTBIN is made from a recyclable material called ARPRO (expanded polypropylene or EPP). EPP often gets mistaken for polystyrene because it is a similar material manufactured in a similar manner, ie the raw plastic is made into beads (each containing air) and then the beads expand when they are moulded under pressure into the HOTBIN shape. EPP is more durable that EPS and is used across a range of industries including Automotive, Aerospace and HVAC.
It's also extremely resource-efficient consisting of 96% air and has excellent insulation properties helping the HOTBIN to reach those hot composting temperatures enabling the efficient recycling of waste into compost at home.
The raking stick is one of many solutions tested during the product development and it was found to be the strongest and most effective solution for mixing waste. We will however pass on your feedback to the team who are always looking for product improvements.

Please note your first batch will be the roughest batch of compost you produce as it will have spent the least amount of time hot composting, but your second and third batches are where you will see really good quality general purpose compost.
