Steer clear of Hotpoint ovens!…
My problem was when the bottom oven was on but the top oven wasn't, the top oven was getting up to 150. The longer the oven was on, the higher the temperature in the top oven. I have just had a third engineer come to look at my oven. The first said it was a design fault the second changed the thermometer which made absolutely no difference. The third guy said that the thermostat dial which showed a light go off when the temperature was reached was not accurate. He used his multi meter temperature test made by Socket and See and said although the dial showed 140, the temperature was actually 74. The reason the dial light was going off was because it wasn't accurate if the oven wasn't on!! When he put the top oven on suddenly the temperature dial was correct. So I am left with a top oven that is too hot to warm plates and is clearly absorbing a lot of heat from the bottom oven. What a waste of heat. More insulation would sort the problem. He kept saying all ovens were like that. I've had many ovens and never had this problem. If you are buying a new build don't let them put a Hotpoint oven in.
Hotpoint ? Surely the worst brand.
In 2015 we purchased a matching pair - Indesit fridge and Indesit Freezer. We had to call the engineer at least twice whilst the freezer was under warranty. When the warranty expired we decided to have extended warranty on the freezer (thank goodness we did). The freezer broke down again and had to be replaced, however it could not be replaced with like for like so we now have an Indesit fridge and a Hotpoint freezer which do not match (the freezer is a different size to the original Indesit). Low and behold the Hotpoint freezer has broken down again for the second time since replacement. It took a week to repair and of course food in the freezer had to be thrown away or transferred to another freezer owned by family or friends, not ideal!
Hotpoint ? Never never again !
Avoid Hotpoint like the plague
I bought a Hotpoint washing machine in August 2018 from John Lewis- the supplier is irrelevant, and is now just 4 years old,and is out with its 2year warranty. The other day I discovered that the metal at the bottom of the loading area, under the rubber boot, was so rusted bits were breaking off ( see photographs) I understand it is out with its guarantee, but I am certain that a washing machine of this age should not be rusting. And,if it should, then Hotpoint are manufacturing poor products!! My last washing machine was a Hoover, which lasted 20 years.I have since contacted Hotpoint and had no response. So,it will be the last appliance I buy from Hotpoint. This is what £300 buys from Hotpoint.

I bought a Hotpoint cooker in Feb.2017 and it cost a lot of money. The grill has stopped working and the oven is hit and miss.I,ve just spoken to Hotpoint and i got no help whatsoever.Shouldn,t an expensive cooker last longer than 5years?
Never buy Hotpoint
My hotpoint fridge freezer I bought in august 2021 is on its 9th engineer visit but they won’t replace.
Never buy Hotpoint
Don’t buy Hotpoint
If you value your health and well-being, then never buy a Hotpoint product. Dealing with Hotpoint is distressful, stressful, frustrating and time consuming. They have no intention of rectifying their faults or mistakes. They turn up unannounced, lie, can’t be bothered, and lie some more. Today I was told an engineer saw my machine 2 days ago. 🤬 It took me at least 20 attempts to get this phone conversation. The last time I saw an engineer was months ago. He took the top off the machine, scratched his head, then spent the rest of the time on his phone outside, came back in and never even tried to fit the part he had on his van which was a drum as the bearings need replacing. Awful, awful company. Can only be a lie that an engineer visited 2 days ago as this clearly didn’t happen.
This is the most shocking service
This is the most shocking service, engineers don't show up, no way of reaching them to find out whats going on, Terrible surly customer care. They should be ashamed. I ordered a washing machine which broke within a month - the entire drum fell out of the washing machine then they booked a repair had to spend two weeks waiting for parts. They refused to replace the machine and then when the engineer didnt show up, it was impossible to get an update. Our machine remains unfixed and broken for 3 weeks. Its a shocking manufacturer and they offer no help.
Broken washing machine for 2 months
Broken washing machine for 2 months. 3 engineer visits STILL NOT WORKING. Awful customer service, no one can fix the machine yet I have to now wait to see if they’ll replace it despite it being under the legal 1 year guarantee. So unhappy with hotpoint I will never use them or their Appliances again! Avoid!!
Fridge Freezer ...
Fridge Freezer .... great design ... stopped working within weeks - lost contents of the freezer as it defrosted .... awaited weeks for a part. The part never arrived swapped unit .... within weeks the freezer stopped working - food defrosted again. Engineer changed a faulty compressor.
Works now but is so noisy constant gurgling and rattling .... almost unbearable.
Engineer came two days ago it was quiet for two days and of it went again like a steam train .... totally fed up
Hotpoint, Whirlpool, Indesit et al.... I will never buy your products again.
I had a new kitchen fitted in Aug 2020. We had all Hotpoint appliances installed and so far Three of the appliances have developed a fault, although two of those faults have been rectified (for now?).
The third fault is a gas hob. We have had it repaired SEVEN times since installation, the last repair was 06 Jan 22 and you have guessed it, it's not working AGAIN. Trying to speak to anyone about the problems is impossible, everything is done online and customer service is non existant. I would not but another item from this group ever!!!
Hot point you disappoint me
My new machine(about 6 weeks old) very simple to operate, its a tumble dryer has stopped heating, its operating but not heating, impossible to contact hot point by phone, web site hopeless, went to live chat, it seems not advise is available in case it is just an error on my part and a £60 charge will be levied if it is something that I could have fixed myself, in all the years of having machines (i am 86 so its quite a few) I have never come across a situation where no advise is available an engineer has to come out and maybe a charge levied, if you live alone as I do and need advice from time to time about appliances do not buy Hot point, incidentally I bought it direct from Hotpoint I imagine I would have had better service from another supplier, my telephone calls after waiting for ever for a reply turned out to be just a pre recorded statement aSking me to hold on, which I did only for the call to be terminated , the chat line was useless but the responder courteous she could only answer as directed i understand that, so now I am faced with an engineers visit for a new machine, that I have used a Few times
That maybe could be proved unnecessary, so much for customer service, give them a miss
,
I have the same issue 3 times now and…
I have the same issue 3 times now and it still continues to happen and I’m losing money and wasting food every time , was told the frost free models are a gimmick. I won’t be buying a hotpoint every again
Hot Point Stand Alone Cooker
Hot Point Stand Alone Cooker.
Do not purchase the hotpoint stand alone cooker. I got a new one via my L&G insurance. Make sure the top grills come in 2 parts not 4 or your pots can not slide across the cooker top easily. Also the grill always stops working and workers do not drive with the obvious parts to fix this. My grill stopped working twice. Annoying!
The Quick Response.
After the initial mistake of the delivery driver taking away a necessary part by mistake and the re-delivery of that part early the next day, I thought that was a great response by Hotpoint, and now they inform me I am getting a £20 refund for the trouble. I didn't ask for it and I didn't expect it, Excellent!!!!

I bought a hotpoint HAE60KS electric…
I bought a hotpoint HAE60KS electric cooker. For a start i thought it was just teething problems. I then realised the temperature was inaccurate. I bought a thermometer and this confirmed my findings. The oven never gets to the right temperature. It is either below or above. Hotpoint fitted a new temperature control, It still was totally inaccurate. Hotpoint sent the same engineer out who told us that this is normal and i cannot expect better. Their customer service is terrible. I am stuck with a cooker that is not fit for purpose. Avoid Hotpoint at all costs.
Avoid all Hotpoint Brands
Bought cooker and grill keeps going off, contacted Hotpoint and was advised its a new energy saving feature? I said its not grilling food and they said the grill goes off but stays warm and once tempeture drops it come back on lol, so its an oven not a grill then??? OK for toast but think they will have claims of foodpoisening if grilling fish. Trying to get through to customer service appauling
