I am new to Houfy and getting to know…
I am new to Houfy and getting to know the system takes time. I guess I didn't realize my entire listing would be inactivated because I didn't respond to a message in my inbox. The message was actually a test from one of my previous renters. Not being able to speak to someone right away was discouraging and the resolution time was up to 48 hours. Luckily I was able to re-list the property immediately and book a renter. It would be great if there was a live chat or quicker resolution times.

While we quote up to 48 hours for resolutions, we always aim to have resolutions much sooner — often within a few hours depending on the issue. As a lean team that doesn’t take commissions (we’ve forfeited over ~$2 million in fees this year other platforms would have collected), our goal is to stay efficient while keeping Houfy fair and accessible for everyone.
We’re also working on ways to make support faster, including automated tools to handle simple cases instantly. Really appreciate your patience and feedback — and glad to hear you were able to re-list and secure a booking quickly!

I strongly suggest anyone interested in staying at Lake Chelan book their room with the very kind attentive owners of the Cabana's. Their rooms are clean, modern and well appointed for a very comfortable stay at a great location within walking distance to great shopping, dining and recreation. We return year after year to enjoy the comfort they provide.

Added HOUFY as a direct booking utility
I added Houfy as a direct booking utility for our VRBO business. I have several local FB groups that I'm a member of that allow advertising for direct booking where our condo is located. While marketing our HOUFY listing is tedious, we did finally receive a short stay booking to get started. Our VRBO listing gets tons of exposure and we are able to stay at 85% booked through that, but the HOUFY booking avenue helps with short (in between regular bookings) stays. I found setting up the listing on HOUFY with the importing function of our VRBO listing to be very helpful. I also find the syncing of the calendars to be accurate and timely within an hour or so and the review pull from VRBO is also a great feature. The only negative I would have with my HOUFY experience is when I was setting up the payment processing, HOUFY promoted square versus stripe and offered a promo code to get a first booking discount. So, I decided to use square and setup my account, linked it to HOUFY and after doing so, got a message during the linking process that they don't recommend square because users are getting "non descript" declines on bookings making it problematic for the owners and travelers! Well, I had already gone through the whole process to link it so I have kept it. With the recent booking, I did see that message come through, but it must have processed again or the traveler attempted a second time (they never reached out to me with any issue). I think HOUFY should iron that out or find an alternate vendor to recommend and stop promoting square on their platform. I really hope that we can get about 10% of bookings through HOUFY because it adds to our profitable bottom line to not have all the VRBO outrageous platform fees.
