Professional in the approaches and tenacious as due to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to keep my original phone booking. Chatting to Suzanne gave me every confidence however I probably will decide their offer of buying my house at a 20% less than market value price is not really suitable for me, even though I can see it’s ideal for many homeowners.

Found the company to be upfront and honest … they chose not to make us an offer on our property but explained their decision and were apologetic at not being able to help.

I tried many of these companies as I needed to sell quickly. HBB were the only company that actually followed up my enquiry. Dorothy is amazing. When I explained my situation & what I needed she went out of her way to assist. She became my telephone therapist. In the world we live in it has amazed me that yes they are a business & are there to make money but the thought & compassion given to me by Dorothy was next level. I'm old school & the personal touch means a lot to me. I even got phone calls from Dorothy to see if I was OK. You tell me which companies do that nowadays. So the review is, straightforward communication, no BS, clear intentions & full clarity on what you are more than likely to recieve as a price & why. Many people don't trust reviews but I can assure you this 1 is 100% real. I will even go as far as to say, HBB, if someone wants to use you & wants to speak to someone in person, put us together & I will reiterate all the above. In the hardest 4 weeks of my life HBB have been outstanding. Dorothy, you are a wonderful human & I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We have a somewhat unique house which makes it difficult to sell in the mainstream market. Thus the reason we decided to try this route

I made Suzane aware of this and she gave us a low but fair offer based on their uplift scheme which gives you 50% of the selling price within 12 months

We were passed to Kerrie who was great, approachable and genuinely as helpful as she could be.

However once the survey was completed I was advised the survey was in the office (approximately 48 hours after the surveyors visit) and awaiting the MDs once over to give a 'final' offer.

It took 10 days of chasing to get an answer, I understand due diligence, but I was willing to go the lower offer way in order to get a quick process 7-10 days and it had been 3 weeks plus since contact and I had to chase due to poor communication at this stage.

They predictably came back with a much lower offer which as I explained from the outset was not going to happen as the first offer was as low as I was willing to go, due to other albeit 'slower' options offering me at least that minimum price

Conclusion: Be prepared to ultimately (unless the housing market dramatically changes) accept about 50-60% of the value of your house which might be fair enough if you can afford to take the gamble of the uplift scheme these guys offer. However if you have an onward purchase to try and make work this might be too much of sacrifice.
The staff are pleasant, informative and honest. Just go in with very low expectations on value that you will be offered.

Very professional and with a quick response but with a low valuation as expected. As the offer is indeed a cash sale without the hassle involved with multiple viewings and potential buyers needing to sell their own properties it is indeed tempting to accept. However, shame I couldn't negotiate just a little bit more.

We were sceptical about using a house buying company at first and did a lot of research . Came accross house buyers bureau as it looked the most credible .
First phonecall was with dorothy who was very professional and explained the process in plain English. An initial offer was agreed later that day with the understanding it could change after the survey.
Next stage we mostly delt with Kerrie who again was excellent and always got straight back with any queries about the sale and solicitors.
We completed 2 weeks ago, no problems and was straight forward.
I would recommend house buyers bureau 100% . It's not for everyone as you do have to sell for less than market value. However it worked for us . There's no upfront costs, no pressure to sell and a majority of the solicitors fees are paid by them.
They are very flexible on completion to suit your needs and can complete within weeks if necessary.
All in all a stress free experience compared with selling the traditional way.

This company made an offer of 60k which we accepted. They then had a valuation survey done, which they took weeks to 'sign off'. Once signed off, the offer dropped significantly.

They told us the valuation had come back at only 60-65k. So their new offer was only £42k. Which is 80% of £52,500. So no longer even an offer of 80% of the value the surveyor gave.

When speaking on the phone, they kept giving examples of houses which were priced low in the area. But they didn't speak about any in our village. I pointed out that when I checked yesterday, the other houses on our street were up for 110k. Suddenly, they were able to see those other houses.

They then made the point that those houses hadn't sold. I pointed out that there is quite a large difference between 110k and £52,500.

There were NO issues found with our property. They have reduced the price solely based on this valuation. Except they haven't actually used the valuation, because 42k isn't 80% of 60-65k.

Don't recommend at all, complete waste of our time. Probably good if you're desperate as they say they'll buy anything. But be extremely cautious, as they seem to find 'something' to reduce the price of every house at the last minute.

I recently sold my house through this company. Overall, the process was smooth — communication was clear and consistent, and the team worked quickly to get everything through to completion, which I really appreciated.

However, I did have a concern during the process. At one stage, the offer was reduced in a way that made me question the integrity of the deal. While everything still went ahead and the service was good on the whole, that part of the experience did affect my trust in the company.

In summary, they were efficient and professional, but my confidence was shaken by the change in offer.

They made contact quickly after my enquiry. I was disappointed with their offer but they made clear on what basis they made their offer and that was fine. Courteous and clear.
