I had concerns about using a house buying company but needed a quick sale and after some research decided to use HBB. From the outset they were open, supportive, helpful and professional. This also applied to their recommended solicitor who acted on my behalf. They honoured their initial offer and completion was achieved in a timescale of my choosing.Many thanks to Dorothy and Kerrie at HBB and Julie my solicitor. I would not hesitate in recommending HBB.

Suzanne was most approachable assuring us that unlike other we buy any home companies. their company never renege on their quotations. So her first ploy was to offer us approx £100,000 under our house value. Then we were asked to draw a map of our house and photograph every room for their so called 'financial man' to make 'a more educated offer. Next we were informed, 48 hours later, that they were 'struggling' on defining a solid offer...in other words it could have been 25% of the real value of our home. If you want your time wasted, a company that will take your house keys from you for their gain and your pittance then Suzanne and House Buyer Bureau will be there to rip you off! I will gladly respond to any answers to this with firm details. These guys are not to be trusted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The company responded very quickly after my initial contact. They were very open about their business model and put no pressure on me at all. They gave a quote after a fairly short conversation. I decided not to go ahead but this was because of my own circumstances. I felt confident that they would deal fairly with me and even though they knew I'd not take this any further they accepted my decision with no pressure and remained polite
A family member has used HBB a few years ago and was very happy with them.

Dorothy is the most trustworthy person in this whole industry and I would listen to her above anyone else for advice.

Suzanne was very helpful. Trouble is I nearly convinced myself to accept an offer £120 k below my original valuation and 100 k below the offer I received which fell through. But they are there for you if you need them. Very efficient.

I have been dealing with Dorothy and Kerrie mainly and they have been very helpful and supportive throughout the whole process of selling the property. The only issue I had was with solicitors putting an incorrect completion date on the forms which meant there was a delay in completion. HBB were so much better than the other companies I spoke to and their offer was a lot better

I doubt this is a legitimate company as I have phoned three times now over 2 weeks, I did receive a text from Suzanne saying that either Suzanne or Dorothy would call back, I then chased the office twice (spoke with Mia) promising they would follow up but still no answer. It's their loss for having an opportunity on multiple purchases of my properties. Terrible experience and lack of promise or commitment.

From our first contact with HBB they have been extremely professional and very supportive. We first contacted HBb many months ago and at that time we decided to sell our house through the estate agent route. However when our buyers dropped out just before we were due to complete we had no hesitation in contacting Dorothy again. Things progressed rapidly and we were kept up to date all the way through. Thanks to HBB repairing our chain we are now in our new home.

Information was great. Think we always knew that the offers would be way too low for us but it satisfied our curiosity. Only had two companies to speak too, didn't take up much time and was worth reading all about it. Would definitely recommend you reading all of the two emails that you receive as very interesting and informative.

so strange to find someone totally honest unable to meet at a price we were happy with but wished us well in the sale very pleasant young lady if you find yourself in a position you have to sell i would recommend this company for there honesty

I felt manipulated regarding paying for their stamp duty. I was pressured into exchanging contracts before 1st April or they would drop their offer a further 5% more, after an already aggressive take down by Dorothy which had already included their stamp duty, she had told me previously. Therefore they expected me to pay twice, until I did my own research and questioned it. They admitted the 1st April stamp duty did not apply to them. Their final offer on 11/04/2025 was less than I bought the property for nearly 16 years ago and I had done extensive upgrading since. They also don't pay for fixtures and fittings. Definitely not a friendly stress free experience for me!
You have reams of document /forms to fill in.
80-85% is paid of the market value - Dorothy told me it was their market valuation or what the company could afford then 80-85% reduction.
Complete the sale in as little as 7 days - only if all the masses of paper work are completed, You may require your deeds to do this.

I had done some research before contacting HBB, and it appeared that they were reliable and trustworthy. Suzanne indicated to me at an early stage that our house, due to its type and situation, may be difficult to value and that they may not be able to make me a cash offer with which I would be satisfied. This turned out to be the case. Nevertheless, the process was entirely transparent and above board and I was satisfied that HBB are honest and trustworthy.

Dorothy was amazing, she was not at all pushy, very knowledgeable about the market and very fair. I would rate House Buyer Bureau above all of their competitors.
