In over 25 plus years of using Howdens uk I have visited 71 branches during that time and I must say Howdens Altrincham Manchester is definitely number 1. . Every single staff member are always happy smiling and very welcoming every time my self or my staff go in there , they always bend over backwards to help anyone out . The working happiness they all so brightens up your day as a Customer. Needed an integrated fridge/freezer installing. Ordered, paid for, delivered and fitted all within 24 hours. Special thanks to Vicky at Howdens and Dave Marsden the fitter. Very pleased with the whole experience.

Our kitchen design was created by Amanda of Howdens, Altrincham. The entire design and installation was professionally created by Amanda.

Our working partnership with Amanda and the entire Howdens team provided us with confidence to have the design and kitchen products we always wanted.

Communication was key to our working project at all times, design, drawings and queries were dealt with by phone and emails.

It has been a pleasure working alongside a professional designer together with all Howdens staff within the Altrincham site.

Delivery of the Howdens kitchen and associated products were handled with extreme care and attention by the delivery team extremely respectful during delivery.

What went wrong everything - dont give them £20k for a kitchen and go with their recommendation.
I paid them for the kitchen I chose with the help of their designer who came to my house and I and my son went to see her several times in their office.
I paid them and they sent the wrong one which they (HOWDENS) delivered to me, but they deny this and say they are trade and they sell only to trade....well they should have. told em this,. Then their recommended joiner turned up and partially fitted it to their desiigners design who measured it and designed it ( all wrong by the way absolutley dreadful - honestly ) -which was measured all wrong and he still fitted it and still wanted paying... They sent me all the wrong stuff Which I was totally unaware of until I went in and all the carcasses were in along with the electrics to the plan (of the wrong kitchen electrics £2.5k) then on discovery of this, when I called. Howdens who firstly said no you didnt order floor, no you didnt order a solid wood blah blah, then they came back to the phone and said oh shoot yes you did..... the manager from Altrincham branch said its ok trust me we will get it right- couldnt be changed as all the electrics would have to be redone - all the carcasses would need ripping out to accomodate the belfast sink I ordered (and paid for) he took the joiner off the job and then, put his own guy on the job (who is a brilliant joiner) but had the job of making a silk purse out of a sows ear! It took 3 months to get the kitchen to usable - but hey it was not the kitchen I paid for but this guy kept saying trust me we will get it right and then we will sort everything else so the £4k i had overpaid for the kitchen I had ordered was a forgone to me I trusted I would naturally have this returned to me, to be honest I should not have trusted them but I had a lot on plate and you could say it was my own stupid fault. But I left it to him as I had just lost my husband and my son was going through raditotherapy on his throat so it was a very painful time for myself and my family I trusted the manager to sort it out- My son is still very poorly the radiotherapy didnt work but I still have this issue going on because this company are hell bent on making a ridiculous offer because I was stupid e nough to trust them and not tell them to come and get the kitchen out and refund me what I had paid. They have damaged my house ( the building not just the cosmetics and I am still waiting to hear sense from Howdens I have taken it to head office but they are telling me they will only offer me £2800 when they owe me more and what about the headache of it all and the fact I didnt get to get my dream kitchen,the one i chose plus whilst putting the wrong sink in my house they put massive holes in my wall and stuck a grid over them to disguise it, they said they will put it right but want me to get quotes- This is absolute abuse they would not have done this if my husband had been alive. I think they have taken advantage of that fact and the fact that my son was very poorly at the time and he still is now, the manager was fully aware of these happenings. When I raised this issue and asked for it all to be taken out and put right he said, "well lets face it its going in a skip if it comes back to me, trust me and let me try to sort this out for you" This is HOWDENS representative! Their head office are saying their contract was with ELM the joiner they recommended, Firstly, if they wreckon they sold the kitchen to be fitted to the joiner they recommended then shouldnt the joiner have known which kitchen he was fitting and wouldnt I have paid him? I paid Howdens, I didnt get trade discount they knew i was not trade. They sent the wrong kitchen and when they realised the cock up the joiner was making they took the fitting over and they took responsibility for it all . I want a solicitor to look at this I feel they have ripped me off! I am so upset with this whole thing I TRUSTED YOU HOWDENS when I really needed to put my faith in humanity I really trusted you. This is ongoing and has now gone on since last August.

Josh on the counter was excellent.
Very polite and went through everything. Nothing was a problem for him

Staff are not helpful during purchase, had to make 2-3 trips due to their mistakes. Also sneaked in delivery costs without informing.
They promised a payment for kitchen recommendation which I never received, even after chasing 2-3 times.

The one in “Sale next to shell petrol station” is much better.

The whole experience was made a pleasure with the professional service and guidance provided by Vicky. She is a true asset for the Altrincham branch. Thank you!

Excellent service from vicky , good product delivered when promised .Will use again.

We had great service from the local branch and their kitchen adviser. He designed a new kitchen very promptly and it was delivered within a few days.

There was some danage ot the hob when it arrived, but this was quickly replaced with no fuss.

Company doing well sorting out estimate at a good rate and time Answer the phone quickly.

During a very stressful extension build, Howdens have been fantastic, taking their time with us to design our new kitchen at the best price and providing exactly what we wanted. They've been happy to answer our many questions during the whole process, in particular Allan in branch, as well as Kurt and Alan who came to fit our worktops. Both were super professional and helpful. We would absolutely recommend to friends and family.

Truly disappointed in Howdens. After we were told by John (manager) that our designer “disappeared”, we were assured things would be sorted and assigned a new designer ASAP. We have called multiple times and never have had any follow up. It’s been weeks. Not sure exactly what has transpired but we were keen to get our kitchen done first thing in the new year. A very unprofessional experience. We will now be looking elsewhere.

I recently had a disappointing experience with Howdens in Altrincham. I was looking for an in-frame utility to match my kitchen, and one of their designers introduced me to the Elmbridge range, assuring me that it was in-frame and the closest match to my kitchen.

Eager to achieve a seamless look in my kitchen, I was willing to pay a premium over my budget for the Elmbridge range. What's even more frustrating is that before I made the purchase, the manager was incredibly keen and attentive, promising top-notch service.

However, my disappointment knew no bounds when the furniture was finally fitted, only to discover that it was not in-frame as promised. I reached out to Howdens Altrincham and spoke to the manager, John Worthington, about the issue. Unfortunately, they showed little interest in rectifying the situation. Despite promises of a call back, I was left in the lurch. This kind of attitude implies that they care more about making sales than ensuring customer satisfaction.

In the end, I paid a significant amount for a utility that failed to match my kitchen, and the complete shift in attitude from the manager after the sale has left me thoroughly disappointed. I would not recommend Howdens Altrincham based on my experience.
