I ordered my kitchen about two weeks in advance ready for it to be delivered on the 14th of August ready for it to be fitted on the 15th of August. The kitchen arrived on the 14th but only half of the kitchen, the rest delivered on the 15th but again not all of it, the rest was delivered on the Friday apart from a few cupboards. The fitters had to go down on the Monday to pick the cupboard up as they were unable to finish the kitchen without this cupboard to be told that the cupboard wasn't available as there was no one available look for it! This has set the fitters back by a week now as they have been waiting for things to be delivered, which has added money on for us! The kitchen could have been finished within a week but we are on to our second week now with two young children in the house. The consultation and the kitchen were great but when it's actually come to getting all the stuff delivered it has been a nightmare. You would think when they ask you a date that your kitchen is being fitted when ordering they would make sure that all things were ordered/delivered for that date!

We ordered a door at your Porth branch unfortunately didn’t arrive when promised,had to travel to Bridgend where they had one.

At the start of our renovation Jack came out and completed measurements for our new kitchen. We went over to Howdens porth and they picked what we wanted based on the measurements Jack had done.
Upon delivery, there were parts of our kitchen missing that we had paid for- resulting in a delay in our kitchen being fitted, with us still having to pay the builder. The builder we had spent half of his time paid by us running back and forth to Howdens Porth to rectify the mistakes with multiple trips to collect the missing items, this is unacceptable.
In addition to this, an added expense of a plumber moving the gas meter was added to our long and never ending bill caused by his mistakes. When completing measurements, he was made aware of where the gas metre was, yet still planned the kitchen without the gas metre in mind, resulting in the cabinets not fitting- causing ANOTHER delay in the renovation. After a complaining email Howdens agreed to rectify this by paying the plumber bill, however this shouldn’t have even happened in the first place!
After this, we thought nothing else could go wrong, but boy was I wrong it seems that was just the start. Luckily, I was at home and my builder called me in to see the splash backs before he finalised them. I was convinced there was a plastic coating on them, as they weren’t the splash backs I had ordered. My builder is a joker so at first I thought he was pulling my leg, but he certainly wasn’t, they were the completely wrong splash backs. My partner rang the branch where Jack blatantly lied and said we were at fault- completely contradicting himself on our planning photos where the splash backs we had chosen to match the worktops were on there!
This was corrected after yet another complaint, the new splash backs were delivered at 4.30pm on a a Friday, meaning further delay on my kitchen and a waste of an electrician as he couldn’t complete the electrics without the splash back in place, meaning a weekend with no electric thanks to this mistake!
Another mistake made my Jack was the dishwasher, he had planned it all however upon my builder realising, we had paid for a dishwasher that we didn’t have room for! Instead, we had to pay more on top of what we had already paid for a fridge freezer!
Finally, due to all the mistakes they owed us a considerable amount of money. But because of the way they work out their prices- customers only see what they want you to. They emphasise on the fact you have x amount of discount, rather than the actual prices of items because they never show you, even on the monitor in the store. Therefore I believe they owe me a lot more money than I’ve actually had back- but if I’m honest I cannot be bothered and I am glad to be rid.
On a positive, I do love my kitchen that it’s finally completed after all the mistakes and unprofessional finger pointing. I have used Howdens previously - another branch and had no problems.
Apologies that this review is very lengthy to whoever is reading, however after spending a CONSIDERABLE amount of money (I’m talking thousands) for a new kitchen, I am very disappointed in the Porth branch

The quality of the products was not a problem but we had to go back to the store on more than 1 occasion as not all the ordered items were delivered. There were also incorrect items sent which were not ordered and this needed rectifying.
