I went into H. Samuel’s today in Meadowhall Sheffield with in interest in gold watches. Amber was really helpful and accommodating , would definitely recommended for any information regarding watches.
Poor customer service. Bought a pair of earrings and haven't worn them so thought it was best to return. Checked my receipt and it said the earrings needed to be in their "sealed bag". I checked mine and there was no sealed bag, they had just been put in a box. They were the last ones of that style and were taken straight from display. Rang the shop to double check this and explain the situation, was talking to Ayesha and she disregarded my points, saying I should have asked for them to be in a sealed bag! Sorry is it my fault your staff do not know their own return policies??? It was made out to be my fault that they made a mistake now I am stuck with earrings I do not want or need £129 down the drain ! So frustrating.

My Daughter got her engagement ring from here on 14th December 2025, just 8 weeks later one of the claws has come loose. Guess what! its £140 to fix it because they didn't have the £4.99 a month insurance. Claimed its been caught. This is a £600 ring that they have said shouldn't be worn every day! What's that all about. They have been sooooo bad, DO NOT BUY from this company...
Went to a local jewellery shop and they have fixed it.. Thanks H Samuel for nothing.
Its OK you replying and saying speak with Customer services, done that 4 times and a total waste of space.

8th Feb visited H Samuel's ordered a wedding ring and paid in full, as no stock. Expected delivery date 12th Feb, the day after I changed my mind and rang the store to cancel, spoke to Amy who told me if I go back to Meadowhall ( 50 miles round trip) they would give me a full refund. Drove back to store as advised to be met by Aysha who flippantly informed that as the ring hadn't arrived in store so she could not issue a refund. Aysha was unconcerned we had been advised wrongly and had had a long round trip. We advised that Amy should be aware, to which she just shrugged. No apology issued. She then advised us to speak to head office to see if the ring had been dispatched. Rang head office on 11th Feb and spoke to Melanie who advised we did not need to go back to store for a refund but would need to wait until the ring was in store. On the 12th Feb rang Meadowhall to see if ring had arrived, spoke to Jessica said it hadn't arrived and could be another two days, she was very off hand and we would need to go back to the store once it had arrived. Again, no apology, until we mentioned we had not had any apology for all the miscommunication. On 13th Feb in the morning I received a text to say ring had arrived in store so we rang head office to advise it was in store and could we have a refund, spoke to Nisha who would contact store to check and follow the stages to enable refund then Melanie rang me to advise refund had been actioned. Refund arrived on the 16th Feb, a full 8 days since payment and the ring was never in our possession. Thank you Head Office, specifically Melanie, shame on you Meadowhall, your Customer Service is shocking and we won't be returning !!

Absolutely disgusting customer service at the Meadowhall branch in sheffield.
I purchased 2 rings for my wife in December, one of the rings was a Diamond cluster which we took delivery of three weeks ago. One of my wife friends noticed a stone was missing from the ring so we took it back to the store, when we showed the sales assistant the ring she said my wife must have knocked the ring on something. My wife told her she had not, but the sales assistant was having none of it and basically one word short of calling my wife a liar. She then proceeded to say you must have knocked it and not known, to which I replied if that’s the case and the stones will fall out with the slightest touch then the rest of the ring needs checking too, she offered no excuse to that question, I mentioned that if it wasn’t sorted I would take it to a small claims court to which at the end she just said to me do you want to take it to a small claims court or what? Of which I replied no I want you to fix it, so she said we will just send it to be assessed,I feel if the people who assess the ring have had the same customer training as the sales assistant we can see where this is going. It seems H Samuel are happy to take your money of which was £1800 of mine but if there’s a problem it you’re problem.

The manager then served 4 other people, reminders were given to the manager we were still waiting... still did not come to us then proceeded to go on lunch. Safe to say we walked out without the sale, absolutely wild way operating.

We bought a wedding, and engagement a couple of years ago, and took out the insurance with the hope that, should there be any problems, the insurance would cover it. My wife had a diamond come out of the ring, and we took it in with the hope it could be sorted. After 3 weeks of waiting we were told it was more damaged than they first thought, how we didn't find out, and it would be another few weeks. We then had a phone call saying that it was wear and tear, and we had to pay for it. So the insurance isn't worth the paper it's written on.

Due to the surgery, I was really anxious about getting them repierced but the lady I engaged with, Kristen, was fantastic. She looked at the scar from my surgery and was able to advice where the new piercing should go. She answered all my questions and was really patient when I was getting nervous.
She was incredibly professional and also very personable. A real asset to this store!

I visited the meadowhall branch for my ears piercing on sat 27th june, Kristen was brilliant very kind and patient would definitely recommend her she is a credit to the store.
Told the assistant I wanted a gold christening bracelet and would like it engraved..she told me it was fine and I picked one paid for it then she went to get the necessary things for engraving....came back and said they don't do engraving anymore...as I had the previous one engraved for my granddaughter I really felt I had to have this one engraved...she told me i could get it engraved at other jewellers...I knew this was not the case and only engraved there own items..she went on to say the money would go back into my account instantly..again not the case..I couldn't go elsewhere as I had paid £239 and couldn't afford to pay again...a wasted trip and at 70 could have done without

Bought an expensive ring last November and one of the diamonds has fallen out. I spoke to someone online who told me it is under warranty and to take it to any store to be repaired.
In store I was told it wasn't under warranty because I hadn't purchased extra warranty... but they would send it to be looked at. 2 weeks later they are wanting £250 to repair it. Annoyed that I was told it was under warranty (which it should be after 4 months).
Will never purchase from hsamuel again

I hate to have to complain but we have visited the store in Meadowhall twice now (having appointments booked both times) for the bracelet welding. The first time we got there and was told they didn't have a single welded bracelet in stock even though we had an appointment booked.. The staff member we were with said she would ring us when the ones we wanted were in stock which she did a couple of days later. She said she was going to reserve these for us and I booked an appointment later that day online. We visited yesterday at our appointment time to be told 'the bracelets were sold yesterday'.. the staff member even came out with the note that said 'RESERVED DO NOT SELL' yet there was still no bracelets to be seen? It takes us an hour to get to Meadowhall meaning we have wasted 2 trips on getting there. We won't be booking in again for this service and will find elsewhere to get the bracelets done.
