Was used to strip wallpaper in a room which had at least 5 layers and it managed to get through them all. Initially found it hard because we weren't leaving the steamer over certain sections of the wall long enough so it was taking a bit longer than we expected to strip but given a bit of patience and holding it a bit longer it worked fine.
