Great experience for our charity!
It was a pleasure to work with Danielle and her team for a charity campaign advert we placed in the Guardian for Purple Day. From the initial call and advice on creative through to the production, Danielle kept in touch with us every step of the way to advise us on the whole process. We were very pleased with the advert and it was great that she checked in with us afterwards to ensure we were happy and if we had any questions about our experience. Would recommend to help boost your organisation's work and profile!
Hurst Media are fantastic to work with
Hurst Media are fantastic to work with. Nichola Halle has been so helpful in getting all the information across and assisting with everything from invoicing to execution of our advert and article. Very happy with the overall service and would definitely use Hurst Media again for our future ad campaigns.
We used them
We used them, they printed the wrong number, we got 0 leads. However they still pushed for payment threatened lawyers etc.
How many of you really have a subscription to these newspapers online? Now how many of you read the adverts?
Print is a dead medium from a bygone era.
Spend your money on Facebook it will go further and you can target people more accurately.
Outstanding service and end product
It was a pleasure to work with Hurst Media. Clear and timely communications from the brilliant Emelie
Okeke ensured that everything went smoothly and the final product was outstanding. It assisted us no end and achieved superb results. Would highly recommend!
Solid brand play with the right expectations
We've worked with Emelie at Hurst Media and found the experience a positive one. He's friendly, persistent and good at matching opportunities to what we're actually trying to achieve rather than just pitching whatever space needs filling that week.
A few things worth knowing if you're considering working with Hurst. You need to go in with clear eyes on what you're buying. These placements are strong for brand visibility and getting your name alongside trusted mastheads like The Times, The Sunday Times, Mail on Sunday and similar. That's the value. If you're expecting a flood of direct conversions or measurable sales from a single advertorial, you'll likely be disappointed, and that's true of most print and newspaper-adjacent advertising, in my opinion. Treat it as a brand play, not a performance channel. Emelie himself has been straightforward to deal with, very responsive, and kept things moving when turnaround times were tight.
Working with Emelie Okeke at Hurst…
Working with Emelie Okeke at Hurst Media has been a fantastic experience.
He is incredibly friendly and tenacious, consistently bringing great offers to the table. What really stands out is his attention to detail; he ensures every opportunity is perfectly in line with our broader marketing strategies and stays focused on our overall campaign goals.
If you're looking for someone who truly understands how to align media placement with brand objectives, Emelie is excellent.
Great company to work with and competitive prices
I have been working with Hurst Media for a few years now but more recently with Danielle.
Danielle from Hurst Media contacted me about some media opportunities that was a prefect fit for our products. The offers were very competitive and the everyone was very responsive. I would recommend working with them.
Hurst Media delivers 10/10 service.
We’ve been working with Hurst Media for some time now, and the experience has been nothing short of fantastic. In an industry where many agencies over-promise and under-deliver, Hurst is a breath of fresh air.
Their communication is seamless, their creative execution is top-tier, and their ability to pivot based on our needs has been invaluable. Every campaign is handled with extreme attention to detail and a high level of professionalism. If you want a media agency that is reliable, innovative, and results-driven, look no further. A massive thank you to the whole team (Especially James, Rowan, Neil & Habiba!)
Luckily, we had some spare budget...
Here are the stats received so far from the 'traffic' provided by Hurst Media via Sun Online (which you must avoid). We were advised we would receive an update call, which never happened because they realised we were monitoring daily. The individual who deals specifically with Sun online was very patronising, alluding to the fact that we were inexperienced and essentially just didn't get it (it couldn't be further from the truth). We knew the tone and the loose answers, which offered no confidence but sought to belittle, would reflect the standard of their traffic (the good reviews need to be treated with caution).
Here are the stats for the traffic received via analytics after being promised 1000 clicks (the vast majority came in at completely unserviceable hours):
Users: 661
Sessions: 667 (from 661 users is shocking)
Engaged Sessions: 0.61% (google is 80.29%)
Avg. Engagement Time: 4s (so it was irrelevant and/or not real people)
Key events: 0 (not one click converted - hard to do when the average engagement time on site is 4 seconds)
This company will try to produce a response that somehow covers up the appalling standard of their traffic, but stay clear. The stats highlight that the traffic being provided is highly questionable and their claims that the same companies come back to them each year are very interesting indeed.
They delayed the launch and we have heard nothing since this terrible traffic was delivered to us, because they knew this review would come and the patronising responses from a certain individual were a sign that they believe they have the right to do this to companies without being questioned.
Great to work with...
Rob at Hurst frequently anticipates good opportunities with trusted titles and the right audience for our organisation. Hurst are great to work with, and manage our campaigns efficiently with a clear understanding of our objectives and demographic.
We’ve worked with Hurst Media for a few…
We’ve worked with Hurst Media for a few years now and have always had a great experience. Last year we added a new brand to our portfolio, and the team were excellent at putting together a clear launch plan and well-thought-out campaign details to get the brand out into the market and test what worked best. Their support, insight, and structured approach made the launch process smooth and effective. We value the partnership and look forward to continuing to work with them.
A brilliant experience working with Hurst Media Agency
A brilliant experience working with Danielle and the team at Hurst Media Agency. The team were friendly and helpful to secure a fantastic print opportunity for our FMCG brand.
Competitive, friendly and helpful
Danielle from Hurst Media reached out to us at Ontex to work with the Sun and the Sunday Times. The offers were very competitive and within the week we had an article written and in the paper. The team were very responsive and very good at chasing and reminders as it gets very busy here. I would recommend working with them.
Excellent Company
Excellent company. Hurst Media reached out regarding including us within a Mail on Sunday, which was that same week, and despite the short turn over, they were amazing at helping us out and delivered in a calm and professional manor. I had the pleasure to work closely with Danielle Gray who checked up throughout and ensured everything was in order. We would definitely work with them again. Great company!
Danielle spent time getting to know us
Danielle spent time getting to know us, our needs and budget. It is refreshing to have someone who is prepared to go above and beyond. Whilst I wouldn't say we had any noticeable leads / sales results from the ad, which was disappointing, Danielle has come up with some ideas going forward.
Had a great experience working with Seb…
Had a great experience working with Seb on my advertorial in The Best of Homes in the Times on Saturday. Honest, open and enthusiastic, and happy to assist and see that my edits and suggestions were taken on board.
Oops, I did it again
Like others in this 1 star category, I was sold a promise and delivered a massive disappointment.
It pains me how I fall for this tactic. My first contact offered me a Sunday Times feature, accessible to 5m users. (The Sunday Times only has 600k subscribers) This became a one page Times Online advert which was so bland and uninteresting it generated zero interest in my product and a £3,000 dent in my bank balance.
Hurst Media weren't happy that I was unhappy, and my first review was removed. I feel like I was missold and massively overcharged for the service.
Hurst Media reached out to me, but I'm not interested in any more empty promises. As far as I'm concerned, I can get much more coverage with a £30 Facebook ad
Amazing
Amazing, highly professional & highly efficient team. Maddie ‘s trully on the ball.
Great to get some publicity in the Times
Great to get some publicity in the Times. The advert was created quickly and accurately. I would recommend. Sebastian Oates was very helpful and informative.
Kurran and team were a slick operation…
Kurran and team were a slick operation from their initial sales call to our copy going live in The Times. Always quick to respond, professional and courteous. Thanks !
