Hyundai Kona ADAS recalibration issue

My Hyundai Kona developed a large crack in the windscreen while parked on my drive. This was apparently due to the heat from the sun?.
I reported it to Aviva Zero and the windscreen was replaced by Autowindscreens. But they have been unable, despite several attempts to make the ADAS system (the black box attached to the screen behind the rear view mirror in the windscreen) to function reliably again. I therefore have lost cruise control and other forward warning systems. The crack appeared in May this year so we are now 4 months on. I wrote to Hyundai, Aviva and Autowindscreens to complain about my dilemma and experience. Hyundai offered no assistance despite the car being only 3 years into its 5 year guarantee. Aviva zero, my insurers, say its been passed to Autowindscreens so again have refused to help. Autowindscreens have been more helpful but seem unable to fix it reliably. I am amazed at the total lack of customer care and abdication of responsibility by Hyundai, the manufacturer, and Aviva zero, the very expensive, insurers. If a crack in a car windscreen can prove to be such a huge repair issue I think the manufacturers need to address this issue not ignore it.

Appalling customer service & experience with Hyundai Kona SE Premium 1ltr Petrol

First time user of the Hyundai brand and without doubt the lines of communication between customer & manufacturer have been utterly shambolic.
No one at manufacturer level takes responsibility for their technical/mechanical failure issues raised as part of their customer aftercare policy, knowing in advance that there are specific pitfalls with certain models in their vehicle line up
My customer expectations have certainly not been delivered

Badly made, poor customer service

Absolutely awful car and Hyundai don’t stick to their warranty. I purchased a 2019 car from a Hyundai dealer to find it was not fit for purpose, by the time the Hyundai garage repaired the car (8 weeks later) it then broke down within 3 weeks and Hyundai were made aware but the garage claimed they could not find the fault. When the car broke again the warranty had run out and although Hyundai were aware of the fault within warranty they will not honour it and have left me in an awful position with garage bills in the thousands for a £16,000 car. Leaving me very out of pocket, apart from a hire car while initial investigation were carried out Hyundai have failed to support me in any way, they do not return phone calls and will not discuss cases fully . The customer service could not be more disappointing. I would never trust this company in future whether it is manufacturer, dealer or repair garage.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever.
My 3-year old electric car (still under warranty) was kept at the dealership for more that 11 weeks before they diagnosed the problem with the high voltage battery. Finally it was a simple sensor that needed replacing. Got my car back exactly 12 weeks after it was left at the dealership.
Never ever will I buy a Hyundai again.

I recently purchased an I20 from Nic Martin at Hyundai Richmond Guildford who could not of been more helpful. He made me feel so comfortable and explained everything I asked and was patient with me as I am very thorough when I purchase a car. Nic Martin always has time for you and takes such good care of you. I highly recommend Hyundai Guildford and Hyundai cars as they are so lovely to drive. 5***** service. Thank you Nic Martin.

Exceptionally poor service.

Arranged a test drive of a tucson connect for 10 this morning at York. Still waiting at 10.30 Eventually sales got the key but car blocked in by display cars. Managed to get going at 10.55 but wrong model.
Sales girl took our car details to manager for a valuation eventually. Not up to previous valuations so agreed we would go for lunch and she would see get new valuation. Returned from lunch and she had not done anything. She then walked off into the garage. I went onto the managers office to complain. He did not say ONE word. No hello or can I help or sorry. If this how they treat you before you buy how do they treat you when you have bought.

Worse company I ever dealt with…

If there were possibilities to give minus stars I would have given plenty. Horrible company to deal with, the customer service members never have a clue of what's going or how to resolve anything.

I requested a payment date change which they did, the direct debit payment was not requested on the old payment day (which was what I expected) and taken on the new date, happy day!
A week later (today) I got a text message from Hyundai finance that I missed a payment which shouldn't have happened as I've changed the
date and I made the changes within
the cut off time the specified.

Trying to explain that to Hyundai customer service, all they care about is "give us the money we don't care about anything else." No sympathy what so ever.

So now I have to fork out another month payment 1 week after the other one.

Can't wait for our contract to end, every time we had any interaction with Hyundai it's always been frustratingly painful.

LYING FRAUDULENT THIEVES

My elderly father went to view a car, was pressured to leave a deposit on a car. He said he was unsure if he was going to definitely buy the car at the time. Regardless, Hyundai Watford put all his details in and filled out a V5 without his permission. He called 1 week later to cancel the car.

Fast forward 2 months, the bailiffs came to my elderly father's home. They had left the V5 in his name, and the car that he NEVER drove or had been in the same room as had an unpaid penalty. I was forced to pay £424 to get them out of the house. To THIS DAY, I have not received any money from Hyundai. Their Head of Business, Emily Ellershaw, horrible lying person who does not care about my father being out of pocket for now reason. She had promised several time during email that the money will be sent. It has now been 2 months and nothing. I will be looking to take this to small courts claim, let's see how they like being out of pocket and stressed out. Emails in images to show she promised the money back on the 6th of June, then same thing 27th of June and nothing. £424 is a weeks work for most, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves as a multi million pound company.

Hyundai Stockport. If I could rate them 0 I would.

If I could I’d award them 0. I have had a lot of cars in my lifetime and without doubt this has to be the worst service I’ve ever had.
Spent 40k + on a new car. On delivery day completed paperwork and salesman took me to the car and handed me the keys.
I got it the driver side fully expecting the salesman to sit in passenger side and show me around.
The salesman walked off. I thought he’d gone to get something so waited 20
Mins. Nothing. I drove home fuming. It was my first electric car and I was a bit nervous.

I contacted the branch manager explained what had happened and he apologised and said he would arrange a date for me to come in and show me around himself. Never got a reply.

Today I just called service as I had to
Use my tyre inflation kit and needed to replace it.
I called and was told the person who deals with it was busy but would phone back shortly. Waited 5 hours so I called again.

The parts guy said he couldn’t tell me which one I needed and to call in. His attitude was very standoffish.
I asked if he would have it in stock and he said he could t tell me till I called in. I felt he had 0
Interest in helping me.
So now I have to go to them and if they haven’t got the part I have to make another journey. Just felt they weren’t interested in solving a customer’s problem.

I quite like the car but I would never buy another from a dealership that doesn’t have regard for its customers.

Be warned they are very friendly till
You buy and in my experience once you e bought they are not interested

Terrible decision buying a tucson plug in waited 9 months for it broke down after 2 days the garage have had it for 6 weeks still can’t fixed it, have been told its with the technical team but they don’t have a time frame. Emailed the customer support they don’t respond, has to be the most shocking customer service I’ve ever had, no contact from the service centre I have to call to find out if there’s any update. 42k for a brand new car what a waste. Do not buy save your money and go else where!

READ - DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI

Hyundai used car infrastructure is non-existent. PERIOD!
Hyundai constantly sell new cars but their main dealers have no capacity to deal with issues on vehicles.
Before you buy a Hyundai, call up the local main dealer and ask if you can have your call looked at. The wait will be no less than 2 months.
My vehicle became dangerous and it got towed to a main dealer WHO REFUSED IT and told me to GO TO AN INDEPENDENT DEALER. This invalidates any warranty they give you. Hyundai sent me the below email when I attempted to resolve the issue.

Ask yourself, do you really want to buy a brand of car from a dealer that treats customers like this. Look at the other 1 Star reviews. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI

"Full and final response.

Good afternoon, *****

I would give Zero

1 / 1
Pity i can't give a Zero!
13 month old Kona Electric which s a mobility vehicle for my son which suddenly refused to respond to the key. Been serviced just 3 weeks previously by Hyundai York so I rang Hyundai York their response was to call out RAC!!!! So as we were stuck, so I did call them out and they found the small 12v battery in the front was dead, RAC replaced it (RAC are wonderful!) at 11pm that eveining. Car fired up and drove, hurrah! Next day when I was going out with my son I noticed the dash had a large SOS symbol illuminated and a Airbag disabled light on the dash and the centre console. Like other cars i suspect they don't like their batteries being disconnected and need a plug in from a dealer to reset. Called Hyundai York, the same ones who serviced it and missed the ailing battery & told them I needed to pop in to get these faults cleared, their response 'You will have to book it in' earliest date 6 weeks ahead??? I pointed out that we had no safety features working on the car and this car is a Mobility vehicle for my disabled son. Their response 'better get the RAC back to sort it'!!!! After much fruitless arguing about this diabolical lack of concern their response was Tough call the RAC. So angry I called Hyundai UK direct to complain about them, their response was I should ring around other Hyundai dealers in the area to find a more amenable outlet.... I argued that they are Hyundai and they should contact their York dealership and tell them to get this sorted out. They fell back on we are 'only' customer services...when i pushed them harder she went off and came back with they can't do anything as my wife is the registered owner and without her being their to 'give permission' me, my son and my car apparently cease to exist.
This is a disgraceful way for a company to operate in these circumstances, especially one that shout about how good their customer service and warrenties are. Obviously a serious safety issue on a one year old car is outside of that...
I have been singing the praises of this car since i got it, something i am regretting now.

Very disappointed with Hyundai's used…

Very disappointed with Hyundai's used car web page where it states Need a home charger? Until 30th September, purchase a Hyundai Promise Approved Used electric car through Hyundai Finance and get a free Ohme home charger.
This includes installation, and you can choose between tethered or untethered.
So I decided on a vehicle offered buy Evans Halshaw Leeds, apart from being the most unprofessional salesperson I have ever come across he informed me they don't participate in this offer.
If you can get a recording of the call please listen to it
I was also contacted by the sales manager who also said they haven't signed up to this offer when I questioned why his car was advertised on Hyundai approved site he said its Hyundai fault I asked does it not come from your feed
Response nothing
I have managed to source a vehicle from Hyundai Peterborough very professional but also informed no free charger
My issue is why advertise something your dealers can't supply now I have had to spend a £1000 on a charger hope my experience with car is better than from some dealers
Not sure if this is breaking trading standards but certainly seems like false advertising

Bletchley Hyundai - non existent after sale customer service

It’s a shame that there is not an option for 0 stars as that would be a more appropriate score for the non existent after sale customer service at Bletchley Hyundai.

After 24 days of me constantly calling them and being told they will callback (which never happens might I add) I have now complained to Hyundai head office.

Once they have taken your money they do not care. They have turned something which should have been a 2 minute simple task into such a stressful experience.

Avoid Bletchley Hyundai if you would like to receive any after sales customer service at all.

My car was booked in to Hyundai…

My car was booked in to Hyundai Motorvogue Dunstable for a service and mot. The site is recently opened and local I, so I thought this was great. My car I was advised, had a recall, so this was booked in at the same time.
On arrival to collect my car after the service, MOT and recall was completed, I was presented with a feedback form to complete while there, at the time I had not had any issues so filled in with positive feedback, however, I would advise anyone not complete your feedback forms until you’ve actually had the chance to drive your vehicle!
My car was in and out of the site thereafter for 18 days due to the coolant light and engine management light coming on multiple times.
I was advised the EGR valve needed replacing and told by two people this was nothing to do with the service! Yet since then have been advised this WAS damage from the recall coolant flush through carried out. This work was carried out under my 5 year warranty.
On collecting my car I had noticed damage to the side door by way of a scratch and dent, really upset by this I went back in to show the team, then as i drove off an awful banging from under the car came about, I went back to the garage where I had been told the vehicle was test driven prior to my collection and it must of come loose since the work was done!! It was an exhaust clip which wasn’t tightened! So there I was back at the garage AGAIN. I left the car with them again so the damage to the vehicle could be repaired and the car checked and test driven before they called me to collect!
During the 18 days that my car was in and out of the garage, when I didn’t have a courtesy car, I had to use friends and family cars where I could and was very upset when I was unable to visit my father’s resting place on Father’s Day due to the issues with my car on a weekend where they weren’t open.
I was advised after the 18 days that my car was now all fixed, it was an air block in the coolant.
After a couple of weeks of having the car back I’d booked some time off work to relax, it has been a stressful experience, I drove to the IOW and had a few days r and r, getting to the ferry for the return journey my heart sunk, the coolant light is back on! No coolant in the engine again. I was lucky to be docking in Southampton where the Hyundai garage were extremely helpful and supportive in checking what they could to get me back on the road again so I could get back to Dunstable to drop my car back at the garage again!!
After another two weeks I’ve finally got my car back but have the fear of for how long! They had again said it was air lock in the coolant but this time they had emptied it out and then refilled it. Why this wasn’t done in the first 18 days is unknown!!
A total of 32 days of issues for what should have been a service and recall.
I’ve been offered some compensation after the first 18 days of issues but nothing other than a courtesy vehicle for the last two weeks. I feel let down by the dealership and really feel more should be done given the time, inconvenience, stress and frustration I’ve had to endure.
On top of all this they had added an incorrect email on the system, put my name onto the system incorrectly and had the previous plate details logged!
A convenient location turned out to be a very inconvenient time. I will not be using motorvogue Dunstable again!
