Well worth it!!
The van was within ½mile of our house, clean, in full working order, low cost and available, which was great. I tried so many other firms who needed bookings days in advance and were twice as expensive.
Excellent service, easy to book, and flexible to extend
I can't normally be bothered to write reviews but I was really impressed with this company's service. I really liked the ease of booking with icanhire, and I found the staff really helpful and supportive (couldn't figure out how to make tailgate work and they were very patient with me till I got it). I also really like their flexibility toward extending the booking a couple of hours. The van was not spotless but ok, otherwise everything worked fine, and the price was much better than other companies I checked. I was very happy and definitely recommend.

I`ve used the local Icanhire vans several times over the last 2 years, and the system works well enough. The vans are usually quite grubby and knocked about, inside and out, because builders, workmen, you and me, hire vans for shifting "stuff", don`t we? If you need a luxury limo, don`t hire a van! I always take great care to check previously existing damage, prior to even starting up the engine, and always report anything that I might get caught for, just to be on the safe side. They did once unfairly charge me for a few extra litres of fuel, which wasn`t warranted, and didn`t answer my email querying the matter, but in the great scheme of things, it`s very cheap van hire compared to elsewhere, so "you pays yer money,etc etc"

Easy to book, collect and return
Everything was how it was claimed to be. In my usual way I messed up the automated part of collecting and returning but they couldn't have been more helpful on the telephone.
Dont bother
I booked a van with them and the money was taken from my account but then i received a call saying the addresses on licence and bank card didnt match so my booking had been canceled.
I went into bank to check the address they had for me and of course it was my home address which matched my licence so i called icanhire and told them this and they couldnt have been less helpful and have left me now ringing around trying to book a van elsewhere.

Convenient and great value
The van was a bit old and tired with lots of little dents scratches and scrapes but it did the job and the overall experience deserves 5 stars because of price and convenience. Also the customer service wouldn't usually be required as the automated system works well but as I needed to extend the hire period I did use it and it was very good.

Fraudulently took money from card for unused fuel
Principle and price of icanhire is great to be able to hire by hour. However they make back their money by grossly overestimating how much fuel you have used. I only did a few miles and they took a large amount of money from my credit card. Their customer service were not interested and refused to do anything. They don't reply to emails either. Bank fraud department is now involved and I'm considering reporting this as theft.
ICANHIRE
This is the best hassle free van rental service that I have used. The system is efficient, although it requires you to have some essential information to access the automated system, and that the system needs getting used to. Other than that it is plain sailing. Fill the tank and roll. The rates are lower that the traditional routes and this is coming from someone that uses vans quite a lot.
I will recommend this service to all- but note that fuel level on hire because you will be expected to return it at the same level- they seem to be quite hot on that.

Fast efficient easy to use - no long winded unnecessary paper work . Great condition vehicles . I would not hesitate to recommend I Can van rental . Today started as a nightmare because I was badly let down by a well know rental company - thanks to ICan it has ended well
Can't complain much for the price
Smooth, easy transaction. However, the van was battered, only had 1 brake light out of 3 the police said and the chip in the windscreen put me off my motorway journey. I tried to call before I set out but when I became number 1 the phone cut off?
My advice is make sure you take the landline number with you when collecting the van and check everything.
Check the van throughout before you drive off
I'st time to hire a van from Icanhire & will use again.. But take pictures of all damage & report to Icanhire before you use.. the van I used had five small stone chips in the windscreen. If I had not reported them I could have been liable for a new screen. I had a tex to say the tank was full but was close to a quarter. (also reported).. overall I was very happy with the service & will use Icanhire again..
Unroadworthy
Van had a fuel leak and I could not drive it. They even had the cheek to charge me for the fuel I had used even though I clearly stated it was undriveable and I did not use any fuel but this was the fuel leak. Windscreen wipers would not pass an MOT. Tyres deflated. No working cigarette lighter so cant use a sat nav. They refused to fully refund me and I have reported them to the police. DO NOT USE

I rented a van from icanhire to help transport a hospital bed. This was a simple bed in van and then driven down the road to my house.
I had never hired a van before, so silly as I was I didn't think I had to make aware that I could see RUSTED scratched paint and a RUSTED dent in the van.
I returned the icanhire van to the exact same place and even filled the car up a little extra to say thank you. The van was not aesthetically pleasing and I did remember thinking they should really spend money on doing their vans up a little for advertising purposes. The inside was dark and dingy and looked damp. However, as I previously mentioned I had never rented a van before. I thought it's cheap and did the trick so I can't expect much.
The next day I received an invoice with pictures for £750.00 damages. I called them immediately and stated that the scratches and dent were blatantly old due to rusting. The woman was very polite and actually AGREED with me!! She reassured me she would speak to the Director and get that cancelled.
I checked my account over the weekend and the crooks had taken money from the account. I tried to contact the lady back and surprise surprise she was always busy. I spoke to the Director who is a horrible horrible man. He spoke rudely to me and he spoke to me as if I were his inferior. He only initially spoke to me because I was emailing him and cc'ing all company individuals who were also forwarding emails to him!!
I have never EVER experienced such bad service. I never write bad reviews but I am just so upset that these people could blame me for doing something that was obviously months old. I even told him at the end that I wanted an invoice of how much it would cost him to repair. He said the damages were so severe that it would be done soon. I drive past that van every day and every day I see that they have done nothing to improve the appearance of the van and have just pocketed my money.

Beware - Will take money out your acc without your knowledge
I hired a van from Icanhire last year. The van was not roadworthy and the rear shutter would not open. When I called them to explain this they said they would send out their engineer. After 5 hours of waiting an engineer finally arrived. He couldn't open the rear shutter so he started hitting it with a hammer and crow bar and managed to break the shutter off its hinges. I was told I would receive a refund for the day I didn't manage to use the van but instead after a few week I had noticed that they had taken £750 out of my account. After over numerous calls with a women called Dawn and various others I was told that someone would call me but no one did. After about 30 calls I finally got through to Mr. C Cox (who I found out has opened and closed lots of failed businesses) he told me that he would be sending me a bill of £3500 for the damage even though I had a witness from Safestore storage to prove that his engineer had done the damage. I had paid for fully comp insurance at the time of hire and he still persisted I pay for the damage. All I can say is Mr Cox has a habit of conning people to pay for damage to unroadworthy vehicles so don't say I didn't warn you. Those people who have left 5 stars either know mr Cox work for him of have been very lucky but I wouldn't take the risk with this company. My advise would be to pay a little more and go with another company. If you do your research you will see that this Mr. Cox makes a habit out of conning people.
Disaster
Their booking system is a disaster. The location to collect your van from will be changed without warning to somewhere else in the middle of nowhere. Phone system for unlocking didn't respond when signalled that the van didn't unlock. Eventually when we got to the other van it was filthy, the drivers cab contained rubbish, the whole body of the van was full of dust and gravel and rubbish that had to be cleaned out. The fuel tank was completely empty and we were unable to find any reference whatsoever of the fuel type of the vehicle (except a hand written note on some scrappy booklet folded inside out in the glove compartment that was easily overlooked in the dark). This resulted in us mistakenly adding petrol to the diesel tank (cause surely it would be labelled right?). Buried somewhere deep in their internet terms and conditions is the fuel type and clauses stating they can pretty much take whatever they like from your bank account for whatever excess and fees they deem worthy, 900 pounds taken so far.... and nobody at the company will acknowledge the lack of visible fuel type labelling is an issue, despite this scenario apparently happening often.
