Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 1,319 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant issues with delivery services, including missed or late orders and items marked as delivered but not received. Consumers frequently experienced problems with products, such as missing or incorrect items, out-of-date food, and defrosted goods. People often found customer service unhelpful, difficult to contact, and ineffective in resolving complaints. Though some customers praised delivery drivers for being polite, helpful, and dedicated, others encountered unhelpful staff. A recurring concern was the new bagless delivery system, which many found inconvenient, particularly for those with mobility issues, as drivers were often unwilling to assist.

My order never arrived I had delivery…

My order never arrived I had delivery between 10am to noon, at 12.30 I looked online only to see that Icelands claimed it had been delivered when I spoke to the store manager in Leyton she said that the order left at 11.30am I asked her why it stated delivered she said it was a automatic response, I telephoned back at 2am and I got no answer the phone just ringing and customer service I gave up after waiting 40 minutes.
I am a disabled pensioner who lost the money I paid for my order, when I spoke to the manager at Leyton she was extremely rude and I actually think my order was diverted to another address, I asked the payment provider I used and I told them I never received my order, but they don’t have payment protection.
I never expected Icelands to steal my money

All the delivery drivers in Ammanford

All the delivery drivers in Ammanford, Wales are absolutely fantastic. All drivers who have delivered to me at my current address and previous (still in the local area) have always been polite and friendly. The man today even gave a couple of treats to my dog and told me about some flowers I had in my garden (I didn't have a clue what they were, just let them grow) whilst I was unpacking my shopping. They have always delivered within the time frames I have been given. I don't mind the shopping coming in crates, I am able enough to take them to my kitchen, unload and give them back. They don't rush you, not that it takes me long, and overall just a great experience. Keep up the fab work Ammanford store 😁👍 Thank you, Vicky (and Efa the hairy one lol)

I have been a customer over 20yrs and using home delivery 10yrs+ but the customer service and communication is absolutely diabolical - my delivery was due to come 7pm-9pm no delivery when checking my account said it was delivered - no online help and phone line until 8pm - I was awake half the night wondering where my £150 order was - called customer service they told me order hadn’t been sent - then told me order on its way - still nothing at 1pm - after 3 calls - 25mins - 37mins - 45mins cut off - 4th time lucky I am holding to now cancel my order which has still not arrived now 1pm - the only loser Iceland never will I use delivery again what a disaster customer service is - to add to the anger I have 16 guests arriving at 2pm so my husband is off to M and S to save the day - happy weekend

Bicester store is incredibly bad

Bicester store is incredibly bad. Placed an order which was arriving in the middle of a heatwave that contained drinks. The store could have called or texted to say they can’t deliver due to the heat but no. The store listed my order as delivered when it was not and then gave no further contact and refused to answer the phone. Customer service number then put me on hold for hours just trying to get this resolved. Left very hot with no food or drink or response.

Customer Service

I have been very happy with Iceland delivery until today. Called about my delivery today which was meant to be delivered between 8-10am(he said they tried and no one answered, my son was at home and no calls came to my phone) the Asian guy who answered the phone was very unprofessional, he shouting at me which made me shout back, he was talking over me and not listening, he put the phone down on me twice and I called back, he then said that he will not be sending my shopping and that I have to collect it myself...but he then change his mind when I told him there were things in the delivery that I needed and would like the next delivery. They replace out of stock items with other stuff that I do not want(I would prefer it not to be replaced and refund the out of stock item). Now there are no bags they put all shopping together. This is very unhygenic and can cause food contamination.

Shocking customer service

We have been having deliveries for a few weeks now. Today, 4 items were missing which I except, errors can be made. However what is not acceptable is 5 attempts to call the sedgley store but nobody picks up thd phone and 2 attempts to call the customer service line, one for 20 mins to be cut off before I spoke to anyone snd the second, 50 minutes with no answer. Looks like a visit to the store tomorrow. Shocking customer service!!!!

Bradford store delivery

Bradford store delivery, frozen food completely defrosted, an ice cream that cost £4 completely crushed, and totally melted, milk bottle felt warm, thought the trucks were refrigerated!! … made a complaint, awaiting reply/refund as I do not trust the products now..
this has happened to me twice in a row now, new drivers I do not recognise.
Will never use their service again.
The staff in store are very rude and they don’t even acknowledge you on the till, avoid this store.

Short-dated food delivered, no refund, and now ignored

Iceland delivered my order on 19 June, and I have now found multiple chilled/fresh items from that same delivery that were dated 20 June, giving me less than 24 hours of usable shelf life.

The first item was Ready to Eat Cooked Chicken Breast Slices, which expired the day after delivery. I raised this with customer service, and the first agent appeared to accept the issue and said a refund could be arranged after security checks. After that, the position changed, and I was asked for packaging/photos even though the item had already been thrown away because it was effectively unusable.

I have now also found Mini Savoury Eggs from the same delivery, again delivered on 19 June and dated 20 June. This shows it was not just one unlucky item — multiple chilled products were sent with almost no reasonable shelf life.

The refund amount is small, around £3, but that is exactly why this has been so frustrating. Customers should not be sent fresh food that expires within 24 hours and then be made to chase for a basic refund. Iceland now appear to have stopped responding to my email entirely, and I still have not received the refund.

I have placed many Iceland orders in the past, but this experience has made me no longer want to use their shop again. Sending short-dated food was bad enough, but refusing to properly resolve it and then ignoring the issue over such a small amount has completely damaged my trust in them.

Unreliable stock and delivery

The service from Iceland/Food Warehouse continues to deteriorate. There are numerous issues with items not being in stock, so a complete delivery is a very rare event. Delivery times are increasingly unreliable. My 5-7 pm time slot today appeared to be running late, with my app telling me the driver was still 5 stops away at 7.40. At that moment the store rang with an implausible story that two drivers are off and that they are unable to deliver today at all. When challenged on this the young woman that phoned me claimed to know nothing even though it was clear I was being lied to. UPDATE: an hour after telling me they could not deliver my order until tomorrow, the delivery turned up. WTF as the kids say!
In addition, Iceland seem reluctant to accept customer feedback that their new system of using filthy crates to pack shopping instead of carrier bags is a disaster, of huge inconvenience to their drivers and their customers. I now have to kneel down, unpack things onto my carpets, and then put items away a few at a time. It takes far too long and it is completely impractical for elderly customers. Moreover, despite claims to the contrary, the crates are never even washed let alone hygienically cleaned. I feel deeply sorry for the drivers who are now also expected to photograph the crates on our doorstep as proof of delivery.
Sadly, there is no one to complain to as customer services are based in South Africa for reasons no sane person could possibly fathom!

No answer no delivery

No answer. Hanging up on me. No replies to emails even now. None of my ordered have been delivered second time now and no refund offered and un helpful customer service line. All stores have incorrect numbers or no answer so lazy and scam people into paying for delivery that dont show. Also off and defrosted food and smelly slimey meat.

For the second time I've booked a delivery slot (10-12.
At 11:55 the order shows a delivered but the tracking shows the driver going off in the other direction (clearly must have faked the delivery time). To make matters worse he then proceeds to drive past my address the continue delivering in the opposite direction. So my order is now over 60 mins late and still not here.
