Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 1,302 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with customer service, finding it unhelpful, difficult to reach, and unresponsive to issues like refunds or missing items. Customers frequently reported problems with delivery services, including orders not arriving, being significantly late, or containing defrosted and warm products. Additionally, people expressed concerns about product quality, citing issues like out-of-date food, poor meat content, and incorrect or damaged items. However, some customers also noted positive interactions with staff, describing drivers as helpful, polite, and friendly. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the bagless delivery policy was problematic, especially for elderly or mobility-impaired individuals, making the process stressful.

Tried to place an order online as I am…

Tried to place an order online as I am severely disabled and house bound. Had a browse through the site making sure what I needed to order was in stock. It was. Went back to place the items in my basket to find that some have disappeared. Logged out and back in again. Same thing. This has happened before and I reply on sites like this to be able to get food. Totally frustrating. Iceland need to get their act together. I won't mention this bagless delivery farce either. I have finished with Iceland and their inefficiency. Will shop elsewhere in future. They don't deserve my custom.

Going bagless was the worst thing…

Going bagless was the worst thing iceland have done! Just got my shopping delivered and as a heavily pregnant woman it was the most stressful chaotic experience..the delivery driver was panicking as traffic was backing up my shopping was getting thrown into my hall way I now have to pick it all up off the floor and carry it into the kitchen, this is a terrible change they have made and I couldn’t imagine how an elderly or disabled person would manage with this. As someone who has been getting iceland deliveries for the passed 9 years consistently this will be my last as it’s honestly not worth the hassle and you don’t get a lot for your money like you used to.

My delivery

I had a terrible experience with Iceland customer service the staff were not train was very poor run by unprofessional people. The manager wouldn’t come to the phone bunch of excuses. I’ve ordered food online with Iceland. The time slot was 8 am to 10 am. I didn’t get my order all day rang twice every time it was the same situation. Nothing got resolved. I’m still waiting for my refund. Never going to go online with Iceland ever again. The manager didn’t even bother to speak to me over the phone to resolve my situation. Very disappointed and very upset terrible terrible it is not acceptable half of the time they will not pick up the phone most of the staff were foreigners they did not speak English properly couldn’t resolve a situation

All I can say is your delivery service…

All I can say is your delivery service is great but, I’ve noticed with some of the items I purchase like the Beef HotPot in particular, the contents of the mince is reduced dramatically. What is going on?

Twice now

Twice now, a significant portion of my order has not been delivered. Getting the absolute runaround from their support team. Being asked to resubmit the request for a refund, but the website doesn't allow you to do that. I was asked for my bonus card number, which doesn't exist. Seriously, would not recommend this company. I gave them the benefit of the doubt once. Never again!

Items picked with expiring best before date

Disappointed with a couple of items . Opened the bread to find mould and the best before date was only 1 day away. Same problem with the potatoes with only 1 day before the best before date and unusable. I won't be buying any fresh items from Iceland anymore as the quality is poor.

Awful customer service

I ordered a delivery from Iceland. Their website is good and the delivery driver was lovely. I opened my beer and it tasted awful, checked best before date and it was over a month out of date! Contacted customer service who are just awful! Wanted details, I sent a screenshot with all these details, two days later they thanked me for screenshot but wanted the exact same details written separately. I’m sorry but are they idiots! And all this delay and out of date produce is still being sold I presume! Any other store and it would be sorted immediately. This is my second experience with customer service and Iceland seriously needs to do some training. I have never experienced such rude, incompetent staff before. I will shop in store carefully checking dates but would never order again, it’s just not worth the risk of having to deal with customer service. Iceland look at the reviews and sort this out!

Crazy no bag policy

Simply, l hate the fact that you have to unpack the crates on your doorstep when ordering online, an inconvenience for an able bodied person, a real problem for disabled people.

I dont think another one star will…

I dont think another one star will bother these as they clearly don't reply or seem apologetic. It looks like someone had exactly the same experience as me obviously there is something lacking with their Security staff. On the 5th July I went in to my local Blackheath store for a few items purchased them was asked if needed a receipt being considerate thought it was a unnecessary waste said no thanks and left I literally got around the corner and thought I have been charged wrong price for pizza so went back checked the price and then walked to the tills less than one minute. Pulled pizza out of my shopping bag and asked girl to check price oh I paid more than that Security bloke raced over you paid for that yes I have just took it out of my bag have you got receipt? no didnt need one. He then told me i was going no where so I turned to the girl who had served me 5 mins back and brain dead said don't know i said look at your cameras and I purchased 3 items that are all in my bag wasnt interested in them . I said you need to get a Manager dont accuse me of theft and refuse me to leave i was absolutely seething at this point he started filming me and I did him someone who I misguidedly believe was a Manager came over I demanded he view camera about 10 mins of being refused exit I walked down to where he had supposedly gone to view and another mouthy s cu. m bag came out and told me to get out of the store I said who do you think you are talking to I was expecting an apology not abuse get out. I kicked up a massive fuss and said you get the police if you are calling me a thief it is the easiest thing in the world to confirm my purchases which I believe they did but were to pig ignorant to apologise. At this point the s. cu.m bag Security bloke said I will physically drag you out of hear now I said you lay one finger on me and I am getting the police i think this jobsworth has to prove his worth there by occasionally stopping genuine customers I think he regretted stopping me. Then the professional Manager came over and literally squealed at me in front of customers to get out now your a credit to Iceland well done Manager the Security blokes parting shot was i was banned from there i couldnt believe this I. D i. 0t actually thought I would ever spend another penny in there .Customer Services usual generic crap this will be investigated and escalated so this does not happen again I couldn't care less about your so called investigation damage was already done hope someone else is more angry than me in your store next time

Poor Unacceptable Service Received Along With Missing Items

Ever since Iceland brought in bagless policy for online orders for delivery it’s been going down the drain I’ve been having items missing and me recent online order was much worse as 6 items were missing and it weren’t small items on top of that delivery drivers are rude impolite and disrespectful towards peoples properties I really needed the missing items as due to me personnel health I cannot get out and have no one who I can ask to get me groceries etc this is the last time I would ever buy from Iceland again I’d stick with Asda at least their service are great and I get all me items

I used to like Iceland delivery

I used to like Iceland delivery, and the staff in my local store in The Triangle in Walton on the Naze could not be more helpful, however I am giving this review only three stars because of the way Iceland operates.

1. In an area where half the residents are over 60, many with disabilities, recently losing delivery with bags was short sighted at best. Daft in practice. The delivery men do their best, but if you are disabled like me, you still have to transfer the items out of the basket into another bag etc. and then go and unpack them in your kitchen. It is not easy. Most of the delivery drivers no longer offer to carry the baskets in. They are too rushed. As a result I have started to do my main shop with Ocado who not only deliver with bags but they buy them back from you when you return them.

2. The drivers are now being sent into Clacton and that is delaying deliveries. Again they phone from the local store to let you know, they really do try their best to help customers at The Triangle, but they have to do what they are told.

3. Items out of stock are refunded immediately to PayPal, which is excellent. However if I see an offer of say 10 for £10 that encourages me to choose products I might not otherwise have purchased to make up the 10 items as that is a good offer. However, if just one item out of the ten is out of stock, you are charged the full price for the remaining items, not the £1 per item you expected to pay. This keeps on happening and today after I missed out on all the offers I had added to my basket, I decided to stop buying offers because I am not saving any money. It feels like a con to me.

4. Why can I not enjoy the over 60 discount when I shop online?

5. There is too much reliance on offers on cheap convenience foods and not on healthy products.

6. Shrinkflation is definitely a thing. For example we used to buy 6 Frangipanes for £1. My husband loves them. Suddenly they started to sell 4 in a packet for £1 and recently they have been out of stock.

My comments are about the online delivery service

Tried to order from iceland in treorchy…

"I tried to order from Iceland Treorchy for a Saturday morning delivery, but none of my cards would work. I waited until the morning to try again, but they still wouldn’t go through. I phoned customer service and spoke to an advisor who was absolutely no help at all – she was completely unaccommodating. I told her straight away that my Bonus Card wasn’t working, but she just kept insisting I sign up for one anyway. When it still didn’t work, she told me the issue would have to be investigated by their team and that I’d have to wait a couple of days for an email before I could even place an order again. She basically told me to go shop somewhere else instead.

I went to Asda instead and my cards worked perfectly fine first time. This is not the first time we’ve had problems with this branch – I’ve already left three negative reviews, as almost every single order we’ve placed has had something go wrong.

I have nothing good to say about Iceland Treorchy at all. This is at least the third time this has happened. They seriously need to pull their finger out and sort these issues out once and for all – it’s absolutely diabolical."
---

It’s clear, professional, and keeps all your genuine anger and experience intact so people reading it will understand exactly how badly you were let down. Would you like me to make it shorter or adjust anything else before you post?

USELESS

Bagless?.What numpty decided that it would be easier to deliver groceries unbagged....
Takes twice as long for the Delivery person to unpack the stuff and...
Every Delivery person I have talked to about this Bagless routine are all up in arms and not happy ..
But... I have been told they are not allowed to complain??
Quote.." Their hands are tied"
Really...what happened to Freedom of Speech!!!!
Also tried to do a order online earlier...
When it got to the payment...
My bank kept on saying payment was attempted but not allowed...3 attempts!!!
...Called Iceland Customer Service who seemed to think it was funny and..just mumbled..
"A lot of customers are calling to say the same and the payment is being frozen.."
There was no further help at all..
Total Crap ...

Bad Attitude

This has took me a week to write, I am still disgusted with the attitude of what I think was the manager, I was scolded for lifting a fridge curtain.
I understand they were trying to keep the produce cold in this weather but still.
I have worked in customer service for over 30yrs I would highly recommend they look for a position that suites the personality,
all that aside I shall not be shopping in Wellington Iceland again.
Well done for putting me off and scolding me for wanting to spend my money.
