As much as it is a household name

As much as it is a household name, i would not recommend ordering anything from them online. massive delays, problems with the shipped product and hard to get to customer support.

White Kitchen Cabinets gone yellow

Kitchen Cabinets gone from white to yellow wherever exposed to indirect daylight. (Doors done same only on their edges though). Kitchen now 8.5 years old, warranty says I'm covered for 25 years against faulty manufacture etc. I sent in my claim along with original receipt. IKEA twice rejected my warranty claim, stating that the discoloration is down to "wear and tear".

I only bought from IKEA because of their warranty. I even had their registered installers fit it.

AVOID IKEA KITCHENS AT ALL COST... THEY ARE CHEATS!

Never again

Never again. Horrible, apathetic customer service for information even for a complete, expensive kitchen installation. And it took me twenty minutes to find the exit door. The stuff of nightmares.

Absolutely appalled by the delivery…

Absolutely appalled by the delivery experience.
My order was split across three separate delivery drivers ARC and DPD for the other 2, yet somehow still arrived incomplete and damged.
Several items were missing, parts were absent from boxes, and some of the packaging was visibly burst on arrival with vital parts bent on opening.
For a company of IKEA’s scale and reputation, this is simply unacceptable.
The delivery service itself was chaotic taking 4 drivers to complete the order and now I have extra items that require uplifted.
No clear communication, inconsistent text updates, and long periods spent indoors waiting with no indication of when (or if) the drivers would arrive.
I wasted 2 entire days rearranging my schedule only to be left with half a bed and no clear explanation.
To make matters worse, contacting customer services has been incredibly difficult with limited accountability, although IKEA had a sense of urgency in resolving missing parts the script for apology was evidently insincere.
As for the excessive delivery charges paid, I expected a smooth, professional service — not a fragmented, substandard experience.
I expect far better from IKEA. This has been inconvenient, frustrating, and completely avoidable with proper coordination and basic customer communication.
Very disappointing.

Shocking home delivery

Ordered for home delivery, storage for my young daughter who was really excited. Paid for named home delivery order 1581576462. Due timed slot afternoon, no delivery. Did not arrive despite waiting up till 2300. Now told it's coming today so have to wait in again. If IKEA are not able to get products delivered to their customers they should not offer home delivery. Absolute disgrace

Local click and collect

I made a click and collect order to be collected from a local delivery point. I received an email saying it was on its way and to make sure I collected between 2-4pm at the delivery point. I drove to the point and the driver had said he didn’t have my order on the list and to call IKEA to find out what had happened. I called the customer service and spoke to a lovely woman who said that my order has ‘gotten stuck’ and could either be redelivered to the collection point in 3 days time or I could cancel and reorder. I was left disappointed as I had travelled to collect an order that wasn’t there and feel I could have been told it wasn’t going to make it beforehand, instead of receiving an email telling me to collect before 4pm or my order would be taken back and refunded. While I appreciate an alternative date was given, this was at my own time and expense, having travelled to the location once, I wasn’t able to make the alternative date. In the end I cancelled the order and don’t have any intention of reordering.

Kitchen Installation

I arranged for a kitchen installation in October 2025. The delivery truck struck the gutter on my house above the front door causing damage. IKEA Ireland redirected to me the delivery company who have so far failed to arrange the gutter replacement as of February 2026. IKEA have continuously redirected me to the delivery company rather than assisting directly to resolve the issue.

Additionally the kitchen fitters communicated poorly, did not clean up after themselves leaving sawdust in the cabinets and there was cosmetic damage to the walls around the installation of plug sockets.

Ordered a pedal bin and it arrived with the plastic hinge pieces broken, although the outer packaging wasn’t damaged. The website wouldn’t let me submit a damaged on arrival claim, which was frustrating. However, I contacted customer service via webchat and they arranged to send a replacement without requiring the damaged item to be returned. The issue was handled quickly once I reached an adviser.

Beware of the Delivery Men

I ordered a collection of wardrobes and draws for delivery to my new flat. When the 'clowns' that delivered them entered the newly laid white carpet they didn't take any care with the state of their footwear. Needles to say i had to stop them after they entered and get them to crawl out. IKEA do not want to know as it was my responsibility to check the shoes before and the delivery partner said that's not they way they work. I'm left with the cleaning cost and the agro. Non existant customer service.

Customer service isn't

I generally like IKEA products, except when I don't. I purchased some Hemnes bookcases, and one was a lemon. There were missing holes on one part and another part was painted on the wrong side. No, problem, I thought, I'll just call customer service. Customer service was very nice; the gentleman interrupted me and said he would send a technician immediately out to my home to fix my problem free of charge. Great, but nobody ever showed up and the next customer service person I spoke with said there was no record of this call, and besides, they don't do that. She did assure me that she could take care of my issues. I took pictures of the defective parts, gave very detailed information, and she assured me that I would be sent nondefective parts to complete my assembly. I waited but never received these parts. I received parts, but not the one's I needed. Alas, I called customer service yet again, and this time she said there was some mixup which would be rectified. So, my mostly assembled bookcase has been laying on the floor for many days while waiting for the correct parts to arrive. Realistically, I'm not holding my breath. I figure worst case I can drill holes, paint the parts myself, and use duct tape to hold the gd monstrosity together. Ultimately I will have paid around $350 for a bookcase that would probably be rejected by quality control at a Goodwill Thrift Store.

IKEA is SHIT. don't ever order Kitchen (and installation)

IKEA is the most unprofessional, thieving company I had regrettably hired to do my kitchen in October last year... It's the 2nd time now they're not showing up to finish the work making me sit at home all day. I'm on the phone waiting 1h to talk to them and they don't want to talk about any kind of compensation until the work is done, the work they refuse to finish!
- INCOMPETENT CROOKS !!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND !!! GO WITH LITERALLY ANYBODY ELSE !!! I WILL NEVER GO WITH IKEA EVER AGAIN...

p.s.
I can provide full story of total disappointment on request

Enter at your own risk!

Once you enter , it’s an escape room, you can’t get out , it’s a maze of no return . The most frustrating shopping experience I’ve ever had, every supposed exit sign led to another department , to view mass production of cheap garbage , and expensive pricing for what your’re getting . Bring your walking shoes and lunch. If you’re lucky enough to get out, you’ll never go back.
