Utter shambles! I read the reviews before signing up, most from male perspectives. So whilst I took note, I figured I'd have a different and more positive experience as an active moderately attractive female. Heck I might even meet someone who wants the same casual encounter as I do. Wrong.
Sign up was painfully long. But id received 5 messages before I'd even finished the sign up process....?
I had in-site and email confirmation that my profile was approved, three times over. Then around 15 minutes later I was told my profile was not approved because they don't accept sugar babies or females looking for paid services. Good for you IE (!) Except. 1) I am neither of those things and nowhere in my profile content suggested that I may be looking for such arrangements. 2) According to your reviews, that's literally all your site contains.

I was miffed. But reworded my profile nonetheless. All fine. For 10 minutes then I got disapproved again for the same reason.

I guess since im not working for them on commission and I have a non computer generated brain that I am not welcome. I'll take my libido back to AM.

well, while there is some success, clearly, but I doubt there are that many ....so it is a big risk....there is an also a lot of hookers, which used the site, clearly! so you get regular messages from them and I suspect their staff also posed as ladies, I noticed that as I joined I received a message from IE on joining at the same time, I received a message from a lady and it was clearly a staff member the way it was written...

There also changed their auto-renewal so be careful with that...it is a money spinning site

Dreadful load of old scammers trying to get you onto other sites. IE is a complete and utter waste of money. Do not join it's a scam full of prostitutes and women seeking to get you to pay for other sites

Glorified Scam. Read your small print. There's no terms and conditions provided either. Try and delete your account with them! Good luck if you can. No contact number nobody answers. Waaaaay overpriced if your a man! £140 a month do yoursekf a favour use a young escort. The websites awkward and outdated and there's no support. I don't trust this site with my data especially when it's all handled by a 3rd party company with no transparency if your a man avoid at all costs! Bad Site

I hesitated at first before joining but I have met some lovely people (both men & women) All genuine people.
There are some crazy people on the site but you can spot them pretty much instantly. We’re in a crazy world, it’s very normal to have crazy people around, the site is not an exception!
It takes time and effort to meet the right person. There are plenty of genuine men and women on the site.
I’m not surprised that those who are moaning at the cost of subscription, didn’t find someone. It’s very logical. Is it not? 🤔
I’m a woman, I don’t need to pay, which is great. But if you’re so bitter about women not having to pay but men do, your best option is to go on Tinder.
I’ve been with my IE for a year now, the experience is amazing. He would have paid 10 times if needed to have what we have now. Btw, I’m 40, in great shape and have my head screwed on. My IE can’t believe he has found me. He’s an amazing guy.
It does work very well, obviously not everyone is as lucky. But there’s no luck without time and effort!!

Great site but let down so badly by auto-renew scam tactics. On the upgrade page (showing choice of packages) it clearly says, “ if you wish to renew with standard Gold membership, the standard renewal packages will become available when your Gold plus subscription expires.”

The issue is that they never expire as they auto-renew whether you want them to or not. The very next day when I find out that it has not expired but that they have taken my money from my account they refuse to refund even though I haven’t used their services and don’t want to. I expected better. Be warned!

This site has worked for me, and can work for you, but you should be prepared to make some effort.

When I joined as free user, I received some messages and profile views straight away, but, if you're a man, you need to be a paid member to read messages. You also should know that your profile is promoted when you join, but not afterwards, which may impact your profile views.

So I joined on a 3 week offer, and I browsed some profiles and sent some messages. Some people won't reply, others may only chat for a while, but if you're honest, courteous and respectful, you will chat to some lovely women.

I've been lucky enough to find a great lady and we went on a date today. If you persevere you can find some success.

Having been a member on and off for 10 years I have to warn potential members not to join. This used to be a good site and trusted by existing members with no auto renewal fees and not many fake profiles. It made it stand out from other cheaper sites.

However .... they are now like the other lower end scam sites, that hit you with auto-renewal membership with no notice, and full of fake profiles. They charge for extra months, even though not used the site at all in this time, claiming there is an auto renewal clause which was never part of their renewal process in previous years. Refuse to refund any of the months fees even though no service has been used whatsoever, and don't reply to emails. This is totally unacceptable and they have now turned into a scammer site.
In the past I have met some lovely women, but now they have decided to con members and have saturated the site with fake profiles of women, (easy enough to spot), which they didn't have in previous years. It's a shame that they are driving away loyal and previous members with these scams and fraudulent auto renewals, when in fact many members would have spent more as returning members if the site was still trustworthy.

So would avoid Illicit Encounters at all costs these days (and this from someone who had previously left positive reviews in years gone by). Unfortunately they are now just like some of the other (and cheaper) scam sites.

On paper this looks a good idea and it is, if you're a woman. This site is totally sexist. The men have to pay a minimum of something like £99 which enables you to send and read messages. This can go up to around £200 for 12 weeks, as I say just to send and receive messages. The women have to pay NOTHING!! Im surprised this is allowed to happen I have this day and age. Like I said, the ideas a good one if you are a woman

I was using illicitencounters and I totally agree on fishings on this site. When not subscribed, cannot read or reply messages, you receive so many messages. The moment you get subscription, they all disappear or dead end. So definitely something going on in there, this website tricks men!
After using illicitencounters, the things I remember:
-Their chat system is so out of date! Feels like you are in 90’s chat rooms. Awful!
-Full of bitter, hateful women.
-Most of them hate men, they just ask your picture password and block you right away without a word or reply!
-Most of them seems in menopause who genuinely need psychiatrist.
-Old ladies who got fed up with their husbands after years of loveless marriage so they want revenge from men!
-Also so many of them are just there to fantasise an affair not for the actual thing. We were talking with this lady, called Sarah for weeks. She sent me nudes and everything. When it came to meet, she just disappeared! I could see she was still active and reading messages. I have lots of stories like these
-Also there are scammers! They sweet talk to you, they always have an excuse for not to meet but suddenly they are in big trouble and urgently need £100 before they die.. Send money and you ll never hear from them again! And yes their profile goes dead. Next day they come back with new profile..!it is tax free heaven for scammers. I met with this girl called Rose and she makes a living out of this.

I am genuine guy and have nothing against illicitencounters.com but if you want hassle free affair with respectful, young, beautiful girls, go for sugar babe pages. Yes it might be a little bit more expensive but they are genuinely nicer, treat you with respect, no strings attached.. The girl I was seeing cost me £500 a month but I feel like a king when I m with her and she is faithful to me. All the best..

Any real review will have a low star rating. The site is as largely reported, full of misleading pursuits and dead ends.

If you do meet a woman, she comes with encumbrances. They are preoccupied with the mundane and wasteful, dull and beaten down by life and chasing what has already gone.

You are far better off joining a local activity group and meeting real people. An affair may evolve. Which may work equally as well.

Try if you must, but the odds are stacked against you.

1. when I was a free member, 12 girls liked me, sent me virtual gifts (that cheapest one costed 7000 credits for). And they were continuously viewing my profile every 3 nights (one of them called fifi1919, every night) until I paid 140 quid for 4 weeks subscription.
2. I first contacted fifi, she neither replied nor viewed my profile later. Then I contacted my other admirers, out of other 11, 8 didn't replied anything (the same profiles how sent me gifts and likes), 2 communicated kindly (for 2 messages) and didn't continue more and 1 replied with a sheepish smile (meaning we're convinced that you're fooled baby)
3. Female members provide no picture. Profile descriptions mostly generated by site auto generator and sounds similar for the most. Most of users are married, and do not look eager enough.
4. The friend of my wife was a user there; I couldn't spot her since she didn't had a picture. She contacted my whatsapp to amuse herself, but she didn't proceed further.
5. during my 7 weeks subscription (I opted for 3 extra weeks in their promotion) I got 9 profile views from members whom I sent my key to my private gallery (compared to free 12 views above before my subscription).
6. one day before my subscription ends, one profile replied me with an appealing question, so my subscription finished and I couldn't reply. (actually not a problem to me as I know this pattern very well.)
7. and after my subscription finished I am receiving messages every week. (I can't read them as a free member)
8. The site is operated by two people: Sara Hartley (admin) and Sam (who is able to copy paste terms and conditions in replies otherwise refers to Sara when is back in office)

I’ve used this site a few times since 2012 and have had 3 affairs from it, so it does work. BUT I’d say only about 10% of the women on the site are genuine. Lots don’t exist, you can tell by the emails you get and the majority of women who are real aren’t interested in having an affair. From talking to c20 on the phone they just want attention. They want compliments and to feel special, they want their egos boasted basically, they are pretty dull to be honest and just want some escapism from dull lives. In total I’ve spoke to about 30 (the above 20 and 10 more who are genuinely interested in an affair) on the phone and had email exchanges with c100 others. That’s produced 3 affairs. Don’t use the site anymore. It’s very expensive for men and free for women hence the level of time wasting women.

Firstly, I'm definitely not an employee of IE and this is a genuine review. As others have said, the majority of women on here are intelligent and demand respect. That means creating an interesting profile, reading theirs thoroughly, and contacting them politely. It's probably one of the best affairs dating sites there is - I've used it once before and returned for a second time, but it has its faults. Firstly, if you sign up for free you can't read or send messages and it's true you are contacted by loads of bots or false profiles, all from women like boobylicious or other ridiculous names, who disappear completely when you sign up and pay your subscription. So don't be drawn in by them. It's sad the site feels it has to do this, but we are where we are.

Women don't tend to respond to winks, the only tool you have as a free member to contact them. But if you're patient a few genuine women will find you and maybe send a message. They did with me. One trick is if you wait long enough, IE will let you view one message for free. You can pick one that seems genuine and read it before signing up. I've done that and it works, if only to reassure you there are genuine women out there. No word of a lie, I talked to more than ten women in less than a fortnight by contacting them politely and without pressurizing. Some of these translated into genuine meetings, and one into an actual affair (I was only seeking one). I'm in conversation with a number of women at the moment for when Lockdown ends. So, it works, but you have to put work into it, and it has its faults, but, though inordinately expensive, it is far better than many of the others out there.

And as for the continuous payment issue - just contact them at any time during your paid membership to cancel it and it's done at once.

I've actually been using IE on and off for the past few years and it's for sure one of the best sites of its kind. I'd definitely say you get what you put in when it comes to online dating and IE in particular, if you're just going to send a message to 5 people in 4 weeks then obviously you're going to be pretty limited when it comes to finding success. Each time I've used IE I've gotten to know some really lovely ladies. Having upgraded over the last year of lockdown, you'd think things would have quietened down, but actually I've got some dates lined up post-lockdown which I'm chuffed about. Customer service is fast and efficient. And yes, they do autorenew membership, but in all fairness they do actually state this and I've always cancelled before the next payment was due, so no complaints there for me!

The deal - Men pay for membership, women don’t. As a man, if u don’t pay for full membership (& initially when you do) you’ll get messages from ladies. Their profile pics will tempt & their words tease. You’ll get the conversation going but it’ll soon drift off & the responses will stop. That’s ok, because there are also some ‘real’ women who you can engage with. But here’s the problem - they haven’t paid (as you have) so have made no ‘real’ commitment to wanting an affair. Amongst the types are window shoppers (just curious), those lacking self-esteem (looking for compliments only), teasers (no intention of wanting an affair but like the suggestion it will progress that far) & quite a few who like the idea of an affair but who would run a mile if it ever got close. Yes, there are also a small no of genuine ladies, too, & if you have physical & emotional connection (& they live within a reasonable distance) then you MIGHT progress to an affair (NB: there are also quite a few looking for stuff that is probably best served on a specialist site). Not sure what the odds are that you’ll find a good ‘un but you’re welcome to have a go. It’ll cost repeated fees because it will take a lot of messaging & questions & silences & being told how rubbish men are.. (& thats before you actually get to see what the lady looks like). I won’t be using the site again - it has a purpose & a use but it’s mostly a money making exercise, designed to extract cash from married men who are prime candidates for having their frustrations & desires exploited.

They are simply crooks. When you sign up the keep hitting your credit card with automatic renewals. There is no way to cancel unless you email them.
They rely on the fact that people will be too embarrassed to complain. Beware of these scammers. They will rip you off!

I joined this site last year for 6 week's I hardly had a reply.
I then cancelled my subscription as soon as I cancelled I changed the wording in my profile which was checked by them and passed.
I then changed it again this week and the wording was declined far enough so I put it back to how it was it was still declined. Obviously not all staff singing from the same hymn sheet.
Since cancelling I receive at least one message a day which is strange.
I can't see these messages unless I upgrade again to see if they real.
Plus the subscription cost is extortionate for what they offer.
Even in lockdown they offerg you 4 weeks for £99 a lot of money when not working.
My advice is there are hundreds of these sites on the internet I would give them a go first.

I’ve been on this site twice and met some good friends and lovers.

I recommend it, however you should be aware that you get a high proportion of intelligent men and women on this site and you need to up your game and work on your profile to stand out. Expect to have to contact around 100 women before you have a successful meeting.

Note also that they use auto-renewal which seems to surprise many guys, hence the many bad reviews. The easiest way to cancel subscriptions is just to contact their user support.

Present yourself well, be honest and describe what you want in a woman and you will succeed.

I've never had a paid subscription so this review is based on what I saw as a free customer.

Profiles seemed genuine - a few fakes here and there but nothing special. Women slightly too old for my taste, mostly 45+. The subscription was just way way way too high to make it worth. There are far better cheaper (if not free) options out there.
