Campaign owner broke multiple terms
The campaign owner broke multiple terms.
Going through Indiegogo's terms and conditions, the campaign owner for a project I was backing broke multiple terms. More recently it appears the campaign owner has been selling stock before sending to backers. I created a ticket to that effect which was closed with no reply.
Backing a project comes with risks but when the campaign owner breaks multiple terms and conditions, Indiegogo will not stand by their own terms that are there to protect backers.

Indiegogo is a scam
Indiegogo is a scam. A company that does no verification on campaign organizers. Uses crowdfunding and perks as a mechanism to officiate a purchase. Allows indiegogo to say you didn't purchase a product when you did. Saying that your product you ordered is just a perk of your donation all of this to get around consumer law. Indiegogo is just a mechanism to deliver money to scammers and facilitate there continued operation.

Indiegogo "seems like a great idea"
Indiegogo "seems like a great idea" - and it is for genuine start ups. However, it is heaven for SCAMMERS as there are no effective monitoring and prevention processes put in place by Indiegogo itself.
It takes no responsibility for anything and relies heavily on Caveat Emptor principles.
Scammers have worked out how to set up their scams so Indiegogo doesn't detect (or care) about them since Indiegogo will receive their commission fee regardless.
There are multiple calls for this to be looked at under the racketeering laws in multiple US states - for effectively this is what the platform has become.
Fraud and the facilitation of fraudulent campaigns should be cracked down on by the Federal authorities in the USA.
This is such a shame for genuine creators doing their best - maybe Kickstarter is somewhat better but there are still failures.
My "failure rate" of backing creators in Indiegogo has now hit such a level that I will no longer be able to support ANY creators on this platform.

A front for scammers and Ponzi schemes galore!
Haven for simply taking peoples hard earned money and then placing the blame ultimately on the “backer” as its very clear they dont hold any of the “campaign starters” liable for the claims they make. Even after the campaign creators have then switched to selling the product on their own website. Opposed to following through on the campaign statements.

I absolutely do not recommend Indiegogo because apparently, despite their policies, there is no buyer protection...!

Dishonest company
The definition of “fraud” is:
“The crime of getting money by deceiving people.”
Indiegogo’s platform is built on taking your money, then taking zero responsibility for the outcome of the project you invest in.
Don’t give them your money.
EDIT: Indiegogo’s reply made me laugh, They spouted the same BS for months while I tried to get a refund for a fraudulent campaign.

Terrible policies for preventing scams
Disclaimers abound saying they don't facilitate shopping and there are no guarantees you'll get the thing you backed. BUT when someone takes your money then drops out of contact and doesn't give you anything, indiegogo will send them a message asking them to contact you. That's it. They leave the scammers on the website, free to keep taking peoples' money. They could at least shut the listing down. That seems reasonable.
Luckily many of the vendors on the site are honest and you get the thing you backed. But when it goes wrong indiegogos policies are absolutely useless.

Indiegogo is a scammer's paradise
Indiegogo is a platform on which anyone can collect money for anything. Anyone can just put up a fake product and collect money for it. Indiegogo doesn't care if the product is ever delivered because even if it was just a scam, they still make money from it.
Do not use Indiegogo.

Unsafe Crowd Funding Platform
Backed a project (VEZO 360 - The First 4K 360 Degree Smart Dash Cam) in 2019.
The campaigner never delivered and continues to scam through project updates. (google the project link)
Indiegogo customer support effectively evaded any direct questions and informed me they will not be responding back to any further emails regarding this issue.
I've never demanded funds back, however I I highlighted to Indiegogo they are still facilitating a platform for the campaigner to scam through project updates and their response was 'we know the campaigner is fraudulent as we held back some of the funds, however we are going to ignore your concern'.
The Indiegogo crowd funding platform is unsafe to use. Customer service is generic and poor, and it is a breeding ground for scammers. AVOID at all costs.

IndieGoGo did not payed to us…
We have organize a successful campaign for a new film about Gaza, after the worldwide success of our first film that it is on Netflix. They haven’t send us the funds. No explanation. No way to communicate with them. Literally, they are holding the funds of all the donors which in good faith have donated their money. We are a production company with 22 years of track record. Still don’t know if they will pay. However, keeping our funds and not even communicating with us speaks tons about IndieGoGo’s Inc lack of ethics, transparency, and lack of accountability.

Lots of Promises but Zero on delivery
i was initially quite excited by the platform. some of the products touted seemed to be imaginative. However the proof of the pie is always in the eating. And the delivery of IndieGoGo is abysmal. Firstly after taking your money for initial orders they are completely unresponsive to queries. some of the campaigns are running behind by a few months with Zero communication on the status. I have stopped believing the product promises being made on this site.

Extremely unreliable platform
Extremely unreliable platform. Their customer service is useless, the first response to a complaint is that they have nothing to do with any of it and it is all sellers who are responsible. They won't even try to reassure you they will look into it. They just reply this is not their problem basically. Sellers mark the items fulfilled and dispatched and at this point you can no longer claim a refund. There is no way to know if the items were sent to you, the sellers are just unresponsive. Customer service wash their hands off and blame it on sellers. Sellers are nowhere to find. Money lost.
Horrible experience, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Paid for a perk in 2019 … still yet to receive the item; and Indiegogo won’t do anything to remedy the situation. Has left a sour taste in my mouth and haven’t used them since as their is no customer service or support.
For reference my Contribution ID is 537 and it was for VEZO 360 - The First 4K 360 Degree Smart Dash Cam
I contacted already as it stated my perk was fulfilled which is not. They responded saying they are unable to do anything. Thousands of people still haven’t got their perk and this company just brushes away. Lots of other campaigns I’d love to support but customer service and acting on unfulfilled perks has made me steer away.

Paid for a perk in 2019
Paid for a perk in 2019, as of today I never received it. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE.
For whatever reason when I submitted a review for Indiegogo, Trustpilot defaulted to my wife's name so Indiegogo didn't recognize the perk transaction. Bottom line is I never received the perk I paid for. Eric Cope

No actions after so many scam
After many years of scam, indiegogo is still not doing anything. Avoid that platform forever.
Edit:
Their response is a proof of my previous comment as I use my pseudo in my email so they didn't even try to really find my profile. They are so dumb that they just confirmed they do not care about backers and give scammers a free place to do whatever they want.

Breeding Ground for Scammers
Sadly, Indiegogo has become little more than a fertile breeding ground for charlatans who can act with impunity (with Indiegogo promoting, aiding and abetting without any accountability).
It is one thing to back a project that fails due to tech or other unforeseen issues (that’s the nature of investment). It’s quite another thing, and absolutely unacceptable, to be defrauded by scammers, as appears to have happened here.
Indiegogo needs to be held accountable and should be refunding backers’ money. Indiegogo also needs to bring in the relevant legal authorities to pursue the people behind this project.
This is a strange platform full of scammers that nobody controls or blocks before they run away with your money.
The Creator must be laughing, all the way to the bank, at all the posts with old Indiegogo terms, must figure they really have nothing to worry about.
INDIEGOGO NEVER, NEVER give the money back, in the past, in the present and, having good lawyers, neither in the future (when you pledge you must check a cell near a phrase that says that you accept the risk to not receive the object you are pledging).

Made a contribution over three months…
Made a contribution over three months ago to a campaign. Was told that I would receive a cutting machine as a "perk" for contributing. Weeks went by and I inquired about the perk. I was then told that the campaign had ended before I made my contribution, even though its status was marked as open on the Indiegogo website. I emailed Indiegogo, who replied that I needed to contact the campaigner. When I did, they told me to contact Indiegogo. I tried to dispute the charge, but got nowhere. No one wanted to take responsibility for what happened. Please do not use this site to make any contributions. They only provide fraudulent and misleading information.
