Not sure what value Indeigogo bring
This site is facilitating either a scam or bad behaviour. If a founder missed a deadline you would expect them to communicate give updates etc. If you invest through a platform you would expect the platform to hold founders to a standard and mediate where there is a problem. Not here...you are pretty much on your own and at the mercy of the founder. Don't expect indeigogo to do anything more than an introduction.
Luckily my founder has now been in touch however Indeigogo did nothing to facilitate. Also they don't make it clear which I think they should that there is a risk involved with backing a founder...ie you may lose your money or could be waiting a while for the product possibly months or years....the expectation isn't managed very well.
This site is not for everyone...so back wisely. Personally I would rather wait for the product to reaches a mature state and hit the open market as my busy lifestyle means I don't have the energy to chase founders who won't keep you informed.
I give the platform one star as I don't think they are doing enough to support backers.

I was prepared and willing to buy. When I went to order, I entered my card data without first being asked shipping or billing address. I thought it odd so I checked out reviews and became concerned with the process and decided the risk wasn't worth it.

Basically stole my money!
I backed a company called anywhere for a portable screen that can be plugged into a phone costing 279 USD, once my money was gone that was the last I heard. Ignored messages to seller and Indiegogo state they refunds are through the company no ot them. Avoid this company as there's a real chance you'll walk away with nothing, having lost your money.

The company takes no accountability for scammers they're promoting on their site
The company appear to do no due diligence on the campaigns they promote on their site. Once the campaign ends, they simply hand your money over to the campaign owner and wash their hands of it.
In my case (the perk hasn't been fulfilled in over 3 years), they opened an investigation into the campaign which appears to be pointless. Their response to me over the investigation was "We’ve reached out to the campaign owner several times ourselves throughout our review, without a satisfactory answer."
Their advice to me was there was nothing they could do, so advised me to contact the campaign owner to ask for a refund, despite having no satisfactory response themselves. What a useless response when they themselves can't get a response from them.
I'd recommend people avoid backing campaigns on this site, which is really sad as it's a great way to get real projects off the ground.

Beware of Scams on Indiegogo - Unconvincing Response from Customer Support

* I'm extremely disappointed with Indiegogo's handling of fraudulent campaigns on their platform. Despite numerous reports of scams, they continue to respond with generic, unhelpful responses. It seems they're more interested in profiting from these scams than taking action to prevent them.
I've seen many campaigns with suspicious activity, and yet Indiegogo fails to take adequate measures to address these issues. The majority of reviews for these campaigns are 1-star, with backers expressing frustration and financial loss.
To new backers, I urge you to exercise extreme caution when using Indiegogo. Research campaigns thoroughly, and don't trust the platform to protect your interests. It's unfortunate that Indiegogo hasn't done more to prevent these scams and support their users.

The worst e-shopping experience I ever had
The worst experience I ever had with ‘e-shopping’.
I ordered an e-bike, it never came.
For weeks I was trying with the customer service. Email after email. At first, I was getting the same automated answers. Covid excuses, supplier problems, they even claimed delays due to the Chinese New Year! Then they completely ignored me. Weeks turned into months. Meanwhile, false updates kept coming up in the site. Hopeless. I was mad, felt my money was lost, but I did not let go. That’s what they want you to do by being so unhelpful.
So I also ignored them and made an official compIaint to the bank. After following a certain procedure, the credit card issuer fully refunded me, even after so many months -in the end they acknowledged it was a scam (what served as proof were the actual emails I got from indiegogo customer service!)

Tipping Scam
I can see that many reviews are about the product and not Indiegogo (which are inccorrect reviews). My review is about Indiegogo.
When paying for your product Indiegogo will add a 35 dollar tip on the order. It is visible in your order before you pay, but it is put on silently.
so I payed them 35 dollars tip which I never wanted to. They get money from any orders you make already, so the tip is just a scam.

My Experience is with IvizBox2 Pro.
Originally it was scheduled to be released sporing 2018. After endless excuses from the prject owner, in 2024 they still claim suply chain problems and Covit based excuses...
I finally gave up asked to be removed as a backer consider the money being lost.
Indiegogo refuses to delete the scamer form their side and even accept orders.
I'm wondering why we can't legally do something about this platform.

Contacted customer service several times, all they would do is parrot back all the things already on the site. All of my donors told me that donating was very difficult particularly from their phones. All they do is provide a platform for you to do all the work and charge hefty fees. Stick with gofundme or venmo.

"The Huggable Co" - are con artists
Back in 02 June 2022 I contributed towards a campaign for some collapsible travel cups.
Since then after many 'so called' delays. There have been perhaps 3 updates, last of which was in October 2023 and yet no cups, no updates and after a few requests, no refund or further update at all.
Indiegogo are useless and state that I need to contact the campaign directly.
Yet when I contact the "The Huggable Co"
(Based in SHEPTON MALLET, United Kingdom)
They just ignore all contact.

This company is a SCAM. I hope for you that you come here before creating a profile or buying anything. If you did, cancel and request a refund as soon as possible. I have spent 1K+ on a product, received updates as "copy pasted" and nothing ever happened. Indiegogo marketed the product heavily and the campain raised 3M+. They left with the money, and did not respected the terms and condition of Indiegogo. The company did nothing, and is just saying the usual "we were a yougn company, we are still learning..It is not our responsability" that they will probably post below here. Don’t even bother contacting support
The company is extremely unhelpful. Don’t even bother contacting them, as they mark queries and complaints as ‘solved’ without even acknowledging them. I was asking for clarification on something one of their team said, so it’s not like I’m asking them for something they can’t do! And even if I was, a simple email saying ‘sorry, we can’t help with that’ is better than just ignoring me.
Makes it even funnier to me that the response to these negative reviews on here, is the company recommending us to use the contact button. If they give the same answer to this it just proves even further the fact that they don’t even bother reading what their users are asking/saying

So look at their response...and guess what happened when I contacted that email? If you said it got marked as 'solved' with nobody contacting me, you get a cookie!

This platform is full with scams
This platform is full with scams and won't protect the backers at all.
Many of us invested a reasonable amount of money and after 5 years nor have we been refunded, nor where there a lawsuit against this company, to insure we get our money back.
Instead we are left to deal on our own and beg a scam company, so we get our refunds for a product that was never delivered (it's been 5 years now!!).

Our protocol for enforcing unfulfilled campaigns could include any of the following based on the circumstances: banning campaign owners from launching new campaigns, sending campaign owners to collections, and reporting campaign owners to law enforcement officials if we suspect malintent.
