I booked with a single room onto the Western USA National Parks Loop. Weeks after my booking I’m am informed by email they cannot offer a single room. I’ve called and emailed several times to say I only booked the trip because the single room was available. I’m hitting my head against a brick wall trying to get them to help. If a single room is important to you then don’t book with intrepid! They will not honour it but they will take your money pdq!

The trip led by our local Intrepid guide was fabulous. The guide was super knowledgeable as well as being very easy to chat with. The places we saw and the overall itinerary was fabulous. Would thoroughly recommend Intrepid and Iceland as a place to visit in winter

The tour guide was wonderful. He was knowledgeable and took time to take good care of is. The small group size, 12, made it easy to make friends and stay on schedule

A wonderful tour made all the more special by our tour leader Meghann Gee. A whole selection of wonderful sights, scenery and experiences. The whole tour was brilliantly organised with good quality accommodation along the way. I cannot recommend enough.

Thwe guide we had was terrific and made sure to meet the needs of all the members in our group. Her knowledge and insights ws much appreciated. Loved the fact that she knew shortcuts to get us into places without having to stand in lone lines. That was A+.

We had a great guide (Moustafa), great group and great locations visited. The itinerary was rushed, lots of driving, lots of places to visit in between. Not the fault of the tour, we had limited time so we picked the tour that fit with the time we had. Everything was beyond expectations. Will definitely book another tour with Intrepid again.

What a fab trip around Sri Lanka on premium tour. Hotels were great. The guide was knowledgeable and so helpful as were the two drivers. The food we had was exceptional and the Sri Lankan people are so so friendly. The traffic was a joy to watch. There’s a clear hierarchy on the roads!! Highly recommend the 9 night tour.

John, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He managed to make the entire experience fun and enjoyable. He engaged with all of us and really took a keen interest in what we were getting out of the tour. He was flexible and even managed to alter our itinerary to squeeze in a trip up to the top of Mt. Wellington a day ahead of schedule due to rain forecast for the following morning. Based on our experience with this trip we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Intrepid. We’re looking forward to reaching out to them for future trips.

I had the most amazing trip to Sri Lanka which far exceeded my expectations. The itinerary was superb; a mixture of cultural, historical and culinary discoveries. The accommodation was excellent and our tour guide, Hashan, was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodated our every need. I could not recommend this trip highly enough.

Every contact with Intrepid including any questions prior were all responded to quickly and direct to my question. The guide Varsha, who stayed the whole 15 day trip with us was completely focused on our group, our safety (crossing roads in Dehli is an experience on its own!), our comfort, any questions about the town, region, country, our personal interests ( some in the group were interested in bird life, some in cricket, others in a variety of particular topics, dietary needs) so Varsha took special care to find and offer extra opportunities to match. So kind. The trip is flat out but goes across Rajasthan and allows access to the highlights so no missing out on great places. Twice it was arranged for us to be invited to local people’s homes to enjoy a meal with them and their family. The driver of our small bus and Mr Ganesh his assistant helped with luggage and travel comfort. Highly recommended and planned for comfort and safety.

Incredible scenery and activities, Tour leader was exceptional with a sound knowledge of culture, flora, fauna, geography,geology, ecology and history.

We used Intrepid for a 17 day tour of New Zealand. Definitely not worth the money. I have been on Tauck Tours and Tauck provides much better accommodations, better excursions and include many more meals compared to Intrepid. Intrepid is a glorified transportation service. Not worth the money.

Your customer service was very good - Michelle the customer care agent was everything a customer could expect from issues raised about the service.

Every time we needed help we spoke to someone instantly and they were so kind and helpful. I would not hesitate to book trips through them in the future because I know I will be well taken care of! Shoutout to Gazaali Uvais who helped us with our most recent query and was an absolute superstar!

I booked the Best of Cambodia and Vietnam tour, starting in Bangkok, flying into Cambodia, then moving to Vietnam.
Bangkok was a brief stop, but fine. Cambodia was wonderful - our tour leader Chesda could not have been more diligent, caring and thoughtful. She pre-empted all our needs, made it feel like a truly local experience (she's a real Phnom Penh local) and dealt with all the admin and stress, including the coach trip over the border into Vietnam. Sadly this is where the disappointment began.
The Vietnamese leader - Anh - was appalling. At the Welcome meeting they didn't even ask people to introduce themselves. There was little to no information on the upcoming activities, and instead over half of the meeting was discussing toilets, and the rest about now things always go wrong in Vietnam and we should just expect disappointment. There was no discussion of some key concerns: an overnight train journey involving communal cabins, and a flight in a couple of days (no mention of flight number / time / baggage allowance). We specifically asked in person and via WhatsApp and they refused to answer (saying they were unable to understand English).
On a trip to the Mekong Delta the next day, Anh decided not to give any information on Vietnam or the delta, and instead spent the journey discussing the complexities of motorbike insurance. I complained to Intrepid who saw no problem with this and insisted Anh was one of their best guides. In that case, maybe Intrepid Vietnam need training from the fantastic Intrepid Cambodia who treat visitors appropriately, not like cash cows.

It was our first time with Intrepid and it will not be the last. The trip was well organised with all our needs fully met. The itinerary was well balanced and extremely interesting. Intrepid have clearly worked hard developing this and ensured that the travellers were well

The guide was such a kind and caring person to have with us. His sole aim was to ensure we had a really good time. He catered for everyone's needs throughout. He is a calm and sensitive person always wanting to go the extra mile to ensure our safety and enjoyment.

His knowledge of Sri Lanka is substantial in so many areas. He was funny and related to all of us. He was very much our friend and well as the group leader. We learned a lot from him.

We would travel with Intrepid again that's for sure.

This is our 4th and last trip with Intrepid. We are sooooooo disappointed with booking procedure and will not use Intrepid again for this reason. We booked an upcoming trip on Monday Feb 16, paid on the 18th and 2 days later the price dropped by 500 each. Intrepid will not discuss any adjustment. Be careful if you book your trip 8 weeks out.

I paid A$5400.00 for the Intrepid "India Expedition: Sikkim, Assam and Nagaland" tour in Jan/Feb 2026, with the primary incentive being to enter the restricted area of Nagaland.

I wrongly assumed Intrepid were aware of entry permit requirements into Nagaland, with the group prepared with passport photos, as instructed by Intrepid prior to the tour's commencement. (The Protected Area Permit requirement is clearly noted in the Nagaland Government website since November 2025, so claims by Intrepid that permit requirements changed at short notice, are false).

We flew from Kolkata to Nagaland, only to immediately get deported to Assam, as Intrepid had failed to arrange entry permits for our group's members.

In subsequent correspondence with Intrepid, I was consistently dismissed by their customer service representative.

Despite paying close to A$10,500.00 for the flights, pre-accom, transfers and tour, Intrepid refunded A$500 for their negligence.

I maintain this compensation was hardly fair considering the time and money I had invested to join this tour. Aside from Nagaland, I could have seen this region on my own for a fraction of the A$10,500.00 price tag.

I have resolved to not put my trust in Intrepid again.

Intrepid are quick to take your money, though the quality and itinerary of this tour was woefully inadequate, adding insult to injury.
