During my recent visit to Jamaica from…

During my recent visit to Jamaica from Washington, DC, to attend the Diaspora Conference, I had the opportunity to experience the outstanding hospitality and professionalism of the Island Car Rentals team. While I don’t write reviews, I felt it was especially important to recognize a few individuals who went above and beyond to make my visit memorable.
First, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Tori Macko and Calesia. Their professionalism, initiative, and commitment to exceptional customer service truly reflect the values of Island Car Rentals.
While I was in the conference cafeteria discussing transportation challenges and the lack of communication about the conference, Tori overheard the conversation. Without hesitation, she and Calesia introduced themselves, stepped in to assist, and quickly provided the transportation information and guidance I needed. They were not obligated to do so, yet they chose to help simply because they genuinely cared. That kind of service cannot be taught—it comes from a true passion for helping people. Employees like Tori and Calesia don't just provide excellent customer service; they become ambassadors for the brand they represent.
I would also like to recognize our driver, Damian Pringle, whose professionalism and attention to detail were equally impressive. During our trip to the Craft Market, Damian demonstrated exceptional care for every passenger. He drove safely, kept everyone informed throughout the journey, remained attentive to the group's whereabouts, and even took the extra step of conducting a second headcount before departing to ensure no one was left behind.
Those thoughtful actions may seem small, but they make a tremendous difference to customers. They create confidence, trust, and a genuine sense of being cared for. Damian's dedication clearly reflects the culture of hospitality that Island Car Rentals has invested in building within its team.
To Tori, Calesia, Damian, and the entire Island Car Rentals family, thank you for making my visit to Jamaica such a positive experience. Your professionalism, kindness, and commitment to excellence did not go unnoticed. You are exceptional representatives of your company and of the warm Jamaican hospitality that so many visitors come to experience.

Very terrible experience

Very terrible experience
I was scammed. I agreed and paid for 13 days for a car in February 2026. Arranged it months before. Send the dates three times and discussed it with Stephanie at the Montego bay branch a number of times. Stephanie charged me $46.00 per day. A month later she contacted me and said its $56 US. Upon my arrival I was given a different car which I had to return about two hours after collection. They changed it and at the end of the 13 days I returned and was told that it was only 10 days and I have to pay an extra $248 US. They put in the small print 10 days and get me to initial the small print.
They then made up a new agreement based upon the 13 days and and charged me $76.00 per day. I requested to speak to Stephanie and was told she is not at work. I ask to call her but they refused. When I got back to the hotel I called her for the next three days and send her messages as I was given her mobile the year before when I book with them but got no reply. Upon my return home and requested to speaj to a manager but was denied. I got through to the complaint team and messaged them many times explaining the situation. I ask them to look back three week back in early February to see what the car was advertised for, showed my paper work, explain that the year before I booked a car for 13 days as I were on a business trip for 14 days similar to the previous year but they still refused to refund my money which they took our of my deposit. They agreed to give me back one day money to which I refused. I said I am happy for them to take one day for me initialling the small print but I never heard from them again. I lost my $248.00 US. DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They are ripping people off.
